Hi, to all the people who are helping with the homeless I say Bravo! I salute you !❤ I don't have much but would like to know more about how to give in a ligit way to warm someone's stomach and heart!
New subscriber. So glad the algorithm caused your channel to "find" me! Bless you for showcasing the plight of the homeless in Cape Town. I only hope and pray that many of them will be assisted to find their feet again through your channel.
My prayer is that this lovely man will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour who will guide him in his decisions and fill him with the peace of God.
Nicholas ❤ i hope.you still have your cellphone and can read this (sunday evening). My friend matt is coming to town tomorrow. He will be looking to find you and reach out. Much love from the uk. Kind regards Tim
Sad.... Unforeseen circumstances befall everyone... Fellow-feeling essential to be shown and help to these less fortunate folks... He seems to be such a top drawer person too... Wish him all that's good... So wish I could help somehow... Those who can, please do...
If I had money I would love to get a place for all of the good people on the streets. You have a lovely personality. Intelegent and behave so good friendly and good manners. It is heartbroken to see this in South Africa. We definitely are not looking after the street people. That is not of free choice. For all people. Some want to stay on the streets yes but you do get well behaved and good people, on the streets. I really feel sad for all the good people. I hope things can change in our country.
Covid was a turning point for a lot of businesses and people in general. Recovery for most is a huge challenge. It's a cruel world. It must be terrible to live like this coming from an educated back ground. There are hopefully a positive purpose in all this.
There is also a guy in Mowbray called Richard ,he stands on the robots between Durban Rd and Liesbiek parkway .Richard is easy to recognize he sells pens .Also has an entrepreneur spirit.
My son still jobless since covid layoff. He is trying each and every day applying but keeps getting rejecte and he doesn't know. He was doing online courses to better himself as well.
Thank you very much to everyone for your support ! I have just recieved two warnings from a Law Enforcement official, that if I am seen again at that robot I will be arrested for begging. I replied that I was selling stickers, while there were other people selling the " Big Issuse " right next to me. I feel a bit victimised but I am not certain of the law. Ive had to move away otherwise I could loose the things I have no me now if I went jail, but just getting back to this video and seeing the amazing support from eveyone, I am very grateful for the kind words and well wishes !!! Thank you !
Hi Nicolas thank you SO much for the update! I am so sorry for the unfortunate events it does not make sense at all. If people could help you how would they be able to get hold of you? Should they swing by the flower market after hours?
Hi Nicholas I have a friend on the west coast who is going to come and speak with you. Not sure on timing yet, but he is a very close friend and he will do what he says he will. I am in the uk so can't do any more than that currently. I am thinking of you Kindest regards Tim

@NicholasWard-f7x you are very welcome mate. We will stay in contact if that's ok with you. The friend who will be coming down to you is called matthew
I would love more detail on how he ended up on the street. When he came back from China, didn't he have teaching experience he could leverage into a teaching job?
@@HomelessinCapeTown-tg5fdI am an English teacher in Cambodia and you cannot teach in South Africa with a TEFL qualification. I cannot live here forever so what is my future looking like? Very bleak and scary.
If his mom is in the UK, she must have British citizenship. That means that he is entitled to a British passport. The support system there is much better. He could easily find work as a carer while studying part time towards something that he is passionate about.
UK citizenship is by one's parents being British, as in SA. If one acquires British citizenship, one's children don't automatically get citizenship. But agree, if his mother is indeed British born then he'd be far better to go to the UK.
Maybe he doesn't want to leave the country. It seems he loves SA too much to leave. He also seems like he can make it out of his situation with the right opportunity. He's very well spoken
@@ashlouw5350 his life is risked every night that he sleeps on the street. Choosing to sleep rough over having a home and a job isn't a sensible choice. @@jayjayn007 If his mother has citizenship he can apply for an ancestral visa which leads to citizenship. There are far more opportunities in the UK for white men to get jobs. It's not nearly as dangerous there as it is here either.
@HomelessinCapeTown-tg5fd Although this option is honourable, what it does Is provide funding for the charity to produce more stickers. Which gentleman (and ladies)such as featured in your video then have to try and sell for a miniscule amount of money for a very long, hot days work. As I said previously, although honourable, it doesn't seem to really be the life changing impact necessary to help this man to step up and out of the dire situation he is in.
@HomelessinCapeTown-tg5fd I agree it is not to be discredited in its entirety. It is very much a better than nothing situation. But I am sure there must be more that could be offered by people. There always is in life. Is there any way of reaching out to this gentleman directly?
According to Nicholas, The Secret Love Project give them their individual donations in the form of cash on a certain day per week. I was also thinking of starting to manufacture things like license disc holders or car air fresheners to give to homeless people to sell. Nicholas is, however, stationed either in front of Engen near Gardens centre or at the Adderley flower market at night maybe reach out to him directly?
