    I'm glad you began the vid by showing the carnivorous nature of these birds. Ted Bier did that on some of his vids as well. The slo-mo of the shots hitting that puddle were interesting, the sound became like that of a bottle-rocket. Great shooting as always. Thanks for sharing.

    Magpies have literally taken over my yard and run off every good bird around. Just saw one kill a robin the other day, he tried to flutter off and the magpie pinned him down and just poked at him till he was dead. I can't believe they are protected. They deserve much worse.

    • @AirRifleActivities

      That's what I try to explain to all the people who are against culling magpies. They destroy avian biodiversity. Here by me not only they are nor protected, you can shoot them all year round.

    Had to swing by Hard air magazine to check the bc and to my surprise the .25 25,39grain and the .22 25,39 grain
    where basically the same, 0.038 for the .25 and 0.039 for the .22 I would think that the .22 just might be a little less
    affected by the wind due to its smaller size but I don't have any experience shooting either of them in windy conditions though.

    • @AirRifleActivities
      @AirRifleActivities  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hasse, I've heard and seen all sorts of BC stated for the Monsters Redesinged. One source even said 0.053. Edgun even claims that their die is 0.058 😉 However, I'm pretty sure the Redesigneds in .22 have a better BC. Also, it is my firm belief it varies from gun to gun, and barrel to barrel. You can easily measure the BC of your gun with a chronograph which allows you to squeeze in a shot at a distance of say 30 or 40 meters.

    Great hunting! Magpies sure are the most horrible creatures. Both my parents were bird lovers, but they were not on their list! I have counted over 35 at one time, roosting down in South East Kent. I managed to kill a small number myself, over the years with an old, but very powerful B.S.A. air rifle. This was at fairly close range, where I will add they make themselves very difficult to hit.

    I'm guessing the dogs didn't have much interest in the magpies because as far as I understand, corvids as a whole (crows, ravens, magpies, jays and others) are rather unpalatable, unlike pigeons. The pups didn't look thin enough to be desperate for meat.
