I don't really need peakpay during dinner and lunch shifts, even breakfast shifts.oh they sure are welcomed😏 I definitely experienced fewer peak pays and only peak pays on hours I don't work, late at night. But what I also see them doing now in this new year is throwing out peak pays when you start dashing, meaning the peak
pays aren't there to see when you're making your schedule.

I hit the $400+ mark lastnight for the second time this year, worked 15 hrs yesterday and hit $470 between DD and UE (2 orders). The peak pay hit $5 at one point which helps alot. Thats what put me at $477 new years day. I'm averaging about $300 per 12hr shift with some better days obviously.

@@gone.golfing I bought a 2007 for focus for $2400 about 3 months into doing Doordash and it paid for itself within about 2 weeks. I made $58,500 last year between DD and UE. I put about 35,000 miles on the car and it will handle that for the next few years easily. I previously had an 06 focus that I put 250,000 miles on over 4 years. Sold it with 376,000 miles still running. My current focus has around 150,000 on the odometer so it still has lots of life left in it. I do all of my own oil changes and most repairs so that saves me a little money here and there. All of my vehicle expenses get written off at the end of the year. 👍

Business is booming in my area in Ohio. I picked a great area to move too at the end of last year. DoorDash rules out here. I am quitting my Target part time job to do DoorDash full time. I make way more for less time and stress on my body. It took me three days just starting DoorDash last week, to really craft my DoorDash hustle to travel less and make more money. That is less stress on my car in the long run.
I get up early in the morning 8am and sit at breakfast place high traffic DoorDash. Easy money and the tips are big.
I do use Uber eats sometimes at night because I get a little more better tips. But Uber eats is not as popular as DoorDash in my area. I really do hope those bonus task comes into place to make things more interesting.

It's not worth it when you run into a snag and DoorDash expects you to spend 20 to 60 minutes to fix their problem for $3.50. Even at $10 it's not worth it. But, when things go smooth, it's a fun little side hustle for couple fun bucks.

So I started last week and as a full time college student I think it's worth it. I dont pay for gas or for vehicle maintenance so for me it's worth it. However if I had to pay for fuel, vehicle maintenance, etc then I probably wouldn't like it all that much. I dash about twice a day. Once for an hour or two during lunch time and then at night around 8pm or so because in my area I get decent deliveries. One night i worked for literally 30 minutes, did 4 deliveries, and made close to 50 bucks. Subtract the 2 bucks for the fast cashout and I made 48 bucks in literally a half hour when at any normal job I'd be making 6 bucks for a HH of work.

I delivered pizza for 6 years in my area making about $22,000-23,000 a year if I worked full time.
I was expected to do morning prep (dicing onions and bell peppers, cutting up meats, skinning out dough, etc) in the morning. Washing dishes, answering phones, and making dough at night on top of taking deliveries.
I would take 2-13 deliveries in the morning and 8-23 at night. The drivers at my store would absolutely get shat on by management and in-store if it got busy. No one ever helped the drivers with anything, nor thought about how their actions would affect the drivers, but the drivers were expected to help in-store.

It's just the accent. What you're hearing is the full "t" sound instead of the American English tendency to omit it so it comes out like "tweny."
It's just what you're used to hearing, and the full pronunciation is jarring to your ears.
But here are others that may or may not grate in you in a similar way:
"February" actually pronounced with the middle R
"Dresser" with the "dr" instead of a "J" sound like "jresser."
"Hammock" like ham mock (emphasis on each syllable) instead of HAMmuck.
I speak a few languages and I confess I pronounce my twenties like he does- with a full t sound- but something inside of me does cringe when people say "diabeetis" instead of diabetes. Sorry I too would personally make you cringe, but I guess we all have our pronunciation triggers!🤷‍♀️

Denver is a good market for food delivery. I can pretty easily average $20+ per hour cherry picking short distance, higher paying orders, and I rarely have to leave the area I live in to do it. Hell, I've gotten so picky that I declined a $30 offer last week that was going 10 miles just because it was 3-4 miles out of zone, and I really didn't feel like taking a long delivery.

    Something that confuses me...
I’m still fairly new with door dash. When I was in Arizona, peak pay was great like $2-$3 every weekend some week days.
Fast forward to Houston 2020-2021....the best we get is $1.00-$1.50 for peak pay. At Christmas they had $3.00 peak pay.
I’m just wondering why does Houston have hardly any good peak pay offers?
One of my family members back in Arizona had peak pay this past Sunday for $4.00-$5.00!!!!
Like I said I’m still new to this but why is Houston so low for promotions and peak pay??
If you could please get back to me it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you sir.

Wasn't really worth it for me. I made 40 bucks in 2 hours but with no hourly wage and minus wear and tear on my car which the irs determined is 54 cents per mile. It ended up being about 10 bucks an hour. I deliver pizzas for one of the most popular pizza places in my area and I make about 30 an hour. That is with hourly wage and minus wear and tear. Those of you that talking about how much you make I think you need to consider that you are not getting an hourly wage and no mileage rate for wear an tear you will find you are making much less than you realize. The formula is basically this. Money made - $5 per hour - miles driven(.54) - gas cost= actual money made.
