- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 3 ม.ค. 2025
- The day that I never thought would come! We finally have a licensed reproduction SNK Neo Geo CD controller with modern conveniences like wireless and additional buttons. How does it stack up to the original Neo Geo CD controller? Does it play nice with Nintendo Switch? What are our options for original hardware? Let's take a look at 8bitdo's attempt at recreating greatness.
I am aware of the new Switch compatibility via bluetooth since this was originally recorded.

Thanks ScarletSprites, long time fan, am a Massive Neogeo fan, nearly got the full jp aes collection and jp neogecd collection, never thought I'd be able to get another neogeocd pad (after those terrible non clicking neogeocd pads), so I just ordered 4. You rock so much, never give up, and i'll be a sub for life mate
Wow man, thanks so much for the kind words, feedback, and donation to the channel. It’s greatly appreciated and will no doubt be put back into getting something else up and running here. Thank you!
If you update the firmware (to the latest beta, at the moment I am writing these lines), you can connect it to the Switch and the Analog Pocket! (using the 8bitdo adapter) More systems are rolling and it will get fully compatible, I have the feeling!
Madlittlepixel tested the switch and anolog pocket after an update and said they only work using the beta firmware on the "usb wireless adapter 2" sold separately, not with the included adapter. Is there a more recent update I'm not aware of? The usb wireless adapter 2 costs an additional $15 us dollars if anyone is interested.
@@tonymonteiro1081i think thats what he meant with the phrase (using the 8bitdo adapter). It can be used unless you have that separate adapter😊
@Narding5566 I just wanted him to clarify in case I or others were mistaken.
Yes, I called that out in the description. I had already filmed and was editing by the time that beta update rolled out. Such is life with these types of things.
8Bitdo has zero plans on adding support for more systems with addition firmware. To get these controllers working on the Pocket, Switch, etc.. Expect to spend another $20 per controller dongle. It's strange that there I'd no Analogue support. All of their recent console replica controllers (NES, SNES, GEN, and more) are all working on the Dock, or have explicit plans to have them working ASAP. 8Bitdo dropped the balk here unfortunately.
8bitdo and retrobit are saviors for retro console controllers
Retro bit has poor quality and the materials feel cheap compared to 8bitdo. And their controller feel not as good /accurate as the 8bitdo controllers. ☮️
@@ninetendopesaitama2107 i highly disagree with this especially with the genesis 6 button and Saturn 8 button controllers I think retrobit absolutely nailed it with both. 8bitdo controllers are heavier for sure I’ll give you that but I think both companies give us good stuff
This is the review I was waiting for. Glad to hear the perspective of an SNK guru and just ordered one. Thanks!
Thanks man!
Best review I've seen regarding the 8BitDo NGCD style controller on the internet Scarlet. Well thought out and informative to give the public the information needed to purchase one for their collection. Well done bro. I loved this upload from he moment it started bro. 8^)
I posted this informative piece up on the Neo-Geo thread for others to take notice and enjoy. Thank you as always for sharing this awesome video for us to see for the community to benefit from Scarlet. 8^)
Anthony...
The star and heart buttons are respectively turbo and hotkey. To use the turbo you hold down the star button and then the button you want to turbo. The heart button is used as a "home" button in retroarch for example. Everything needs to be configured, and they come, I think, on all 8bitdo controllers.
I coincidentally have the other controllers they make that don’t have these. 😂
The extra buttons are also synced to the Analogue consoles. they bring up the menu directly, same as the M30 buttons
@@ScarletSprites I have the pro 2 and m30, and they both come with those buttons, which are pretty handy actually. And the m30 also has the option of using the d pad as an analog stick, or a true dpad. In fact, from the factory it is configured to be detected as a left analog stick. I wonder if this neo geo controller also has this feature?
@ScarletSprites These are the ‘Switch like’ buttons for ‘Home’ and taking a screenshot or turbo functionality when connected to a Switch. A lot of 8Bitdo controllers have these, even the new black version of the Arcade stick which is not compatible with Switch or at least meant for XBox/Windows. This 8Bitdo/SNK controller at first wasn’t compatible with Switch, but this apparently has been added with the last firmware update.
The Home button is used to pull up the Analogue OS Menu on the Analogue Pocket
I just picked this for $229 in Hong Kong. That's $40 bucks Canadian which is a good $15 cheaper than Amazon with taxes factored in. I literally just picked up the last copy in stock so I haven't had time to test it out yet
I got this controller yesterday and I don't know that I've been so stuck on a controller before. I really like it. There's something about the click that helps with accuracy. Works so well with not just Neo Geo games but lots of arcade games through MAME on the PC. Works great on SNES games also. I have most of 8bitdo's controllers and this is one of the best so far. Tested it for 4 hours
Yeah it’s really nice to be able to play other arcade games with a controller designed with arcade in mind. Totally agree.
Greetings from snowy Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. This video was just what I was looking for. Very considered, clear and helped me with my decision to pick one up to use with my Raspberry Pie 4b. Will subscribe and look forward to exploring your other videos. Cheers, man!
I’m just now catching up with videos from a couple weeks ago. Thanks for the informative video.
With the 8bitdo USB Wireless Adapter 2 you can indeed use the Neo Geo pad on the Switch and even on the Analogue Pocket.
At the time of recording you couldn’t but I did include that in the video’s description.
@@ScarletSprites all good🤘Now I am just hoping 8bitdo releases an adapter compatible with the MVS so I can use it on my CMVS. If not I’ll just wait for the Neo Geo bluetooth adapter to be available at Stone Age Gamer.
Your channel was the only one i cared to hear from when it comes to reviewing this controller. Thanks for giving your honest opinions. I'm glad the professionals have weighed in!
Thanks for the kind words. Hope you enjoy if you grab one.
was waiting for your review before grabbing one. MiSTer is my main way of playing neo and im excited to try this out on other fighting games too
I'm putting in an order for one now that i got to see your opinion of it. I got concerned when someone on reddit stated how this 8bitdo joystick had too long of a throw (though the vid clip seemed like they were more critiquing the engage distance), but the person was comparing it to the 6 button ps2 version of the pad so maybe that one is just built a bit different. Your review was enough to make me feel this pad is at least worth trying for myself. Thanks for the vid and comparisons!
It’s like a 90% spot on copy in short. The stick is definitely fine imo. I expected to notice a ton of nuances and I really had to try hard to do so. I’ve heard a few scattered reports of microswitches breaking early. Overall though, for $35 it’s definitely worth it if you’re playing Neo on MiSTer, a Pi, or Switch with the USB2 adapter.
Just received mine from Amazon JP and it only took a few minutes to update the firmware on it and the 8bitdo 2 Wireless Adapter 2. Connected immediately to my Switch.
I think the stick needs bit of wearing in as the diagonals felt a bit tough on Garou, but overall really impressed. Should be great to play all the ACA games I have in my Switch library.
8 months later, what are your thoughts about this gamepad ? I've seen a lot of different opinions on that controller.
@@ELPapayapasame here
Using this controller on MiSTer has been a blast. I map the OSD to the little "heart" button and it makes getting around a breeze.
That’s a good idea, I like that.
@@ScarletSprites Yes, the OSD has to be mapped from the MiSTer frontend, not the core controls.
I bought them for use with MiSTer as well as with a consolized Neo Geo MVS. My MVS console has Genisis controller ports so I'm using an 8BitDo Bluetooth receiver for the OG Genisis with it. I wish 8BitDo would make a 2.4Ghz receiver for the OG Neo Geo.
Woah! You're back! I haven't seen when one of your videos pop up in my feed in a while!
Awesome video!
I’m trying to be back. Thanks man!
I agree I cant wait for that bt adapter to go back for sale for my mvs
Star button is to toggle Turbo, on Nintendo Switch and PS4 it's use to take screenshots. The heart button is the home button. On Steam Deck, NeoGeo Mini, Switch, and PS4 you use it to return to the home screen or the UI.
Great content as always my dude!
Thanks for the support as always man!
Was very happy with the quality of the controller for sure. Was shocked it worked right out of the box once I plugged it all into the MiSTer, noticed a little lag but nothing too bad. I really hope they'll do more with SNK. I'd kill for a brand new controller using the thumbstick from the Neo-Geo Pocket Color and maybe a new wireless version of the AES Stick?
If they do reproduce the AES sticks they’d damn well better make a 2.4G DB15 dongle. But yes, I’d be all for wireless sticks.
I tested with neo BT via Bluetooth on my AES and it works fantastic. I also tested using turf masters and metal slug. I didn't notice any additional lag. VERY HAPPY with the new pads.
I can't wait to get mine in the mail!!!!!! So excited!!!
I hope they make a wireless Dreamcast controller
The star button may be a turbo. Bit of a trend with 8bitdo's controllers. (STAR+Button to toggle turbo)
Yup can confirm that the pads work on the NeoBT…this was the first thing I tried when I got them.
Great that you do new content again! 🎉
I’m trying, it’s been tough since last winter.
I will say it now and before watching the video. WE WANT THE SNK AES ARCADE STYLE CONTROLLER NOW!!!!
I’d buy it, but they had better figure out how to support it and this pad with a DB15 wireless dongle then.
@@ScarletSpritesfor collectors as you are I Guess that would be essential. But even without that, I'm ready to buy two, if and when it gets out
@Scarlet Sprites The Star and Heart buttons are for Home (Main menu) and Take Screenshot when using it with Nintendo Switch.
That’s good to know. I’ll probably give the USB2 a shot this afternoon and see how it is.
Great review, thanks! I've been using the controller via Bluetooth (no dongle) on Raspberry Pi 4 in Emulation Station. Paired fine after a couple minutes of configuration, and works great for Neo Geo MVS, CD, and beyond!
A recreation of one of the greatest console controllers of all time. Thanks for the review. 🤩✌🏻👍🏻
I wonder if I could remove the clicky stick from the 8bitDo pad and put it in my real NGCD controller. The clicky stick in that has never worked tremendously well and it feels... not very smooth.
LaserBear.net sells kits to repair/replace OGs. In the same vein, I was wondering if those kits would work on the 8Bitdo.
Nice review Joe! Mine is supposedly showing up today. Sucks no adapter for original hardware but I’ll definitely rock this with the mister. I believe madlittlepixel posted that they got switch compatibility working with the last firmware update. Take care man!
Yeah, that's right. He somehow update firmware of 8bitdo wireless adapter 2 to able it working with 8Bitdo NeoGeo pad. You need check it's video to know how it's work.
Solid review, appreciate the enthusiasm and honesty. I ordered 2 😊
Thanks for the kind words. Hope you enjoy!
This controller caught my eye specifically for Street Fighter 6. I was always a pad player, however, I enjoyed the tighter execution of arcade sticks. But the far throw of the stick and the travel for each button never kept me on. That might change with this.
I’ve been thinking the same thing. Did you ever get a chance to try out this controller with Street Fighter 6?
was it good?
Thx for the review, if you like it then its worth getting for the mister, after all you are my goto for all neogeo things m8
Hah, thanks man! I think it’s worth it if you’re playing a lot on MiSTer. Aside from that though? Probably not. The lack of DB15 over 2.4G is really unfortunate.
I love mine! I wonder if it would be possible to 3d print a small sleeve to go over the joystick post to shorten the throw.
Hey, have you tried with the Game Linq Arcade Stick Pro? I use on my ASP when I connect to the PS5 or the Switch.
No, I don’t own that adapter unfortunately.
@ScarletSprites just to share that I just received my controller and doesn't work with the game linq
It’s my first time holding a neo geo controller I enjoy it
Awesome! It’s a pretty great controller overall. Definitely the way to play Neo (if not using a stick).
Star is screenshot button on Switch, and 8bitdo logo is the home button on a Switch
Great video brother! I think we’ll be covering the controller too, hopefully.
Nice, I’ll be interested in hearing what you guys think.
I’m buying 2 of these for sure.. 8bitdo should do the same thing with the neogeo arcade sticks. The ones from that portable neogeo arnt good enough I want something closer to the original
I would assume this controller would also be made compatible with the Switch, since start and select are also called plus and minus. If it was, then chances are it was meant for those arcade archive titles and other arcade based ports, not just Neo Geo.
It would be cool if it was compatible with the Evercade, so we could use them to play its library of arcade titles. Speaking of which, if they could add support for Neo Geo titles and labelled them as arcade collections, then that would be awesome too!
Nice, a controller with micro switches... Will it work with my Neo Geo ASP as well?
Unfortunately not. At least not as of the latest firmware.
@@ScarletSprites 🙄... Then, I have no choice but to get better an the stick... I thought it works, because the original NGM pads (the shitty ones) are compatible. Thanks for answering!
The 8bitdo button works as it should on the Analogue Dock which brings up the menu. I believe it would work as it does with other 8bitdo controllers on the Switch as well
This controller is amazing for shmups!
Now I just need SNK 2 release all the Neo Geo titles on the Play store so I could start playing them on the go. But I also wish they'd adapted an online multiplayer instead of just a couch co-op.
With the switch always worth checking you have pro controller wired connection selected in the console settings...
I believe it now works with the USB2 adapter.
You can get an 8BitDo USB Wireless Adaptor2 with a firmware update to use this on the switch. I wish it cam with this adaptor in the first place is another nitpick I might add, but it really is a nice controller.
Yeah, I mentioned in the description that that has been updated since the time of filming.
It looks pretty authentic and most of all they got the legit feel of the stick, that is harsh it's not able to be used on a neo geo cd right out of the box
I wonder if it works on the SNES Classic mini
Kind of glad it's not compatible with original hardware because it would be yet another reason for me to start a NEO GEO collection.
Im really liking mine so far. Think they really nauled this one. Hoping to test if with some db15 adapters soon. Metal slug limited edition for the win!
The clicky stick indeed is the most important aspect of this controller and good to know they got it right. I would image they have a firmware update with more compatibility such as the Nintendo Switch. I didn't know this was officially licensed and spent 3 years to get it right. It makes me happy to see a company getting it right because there's no point in making modern retro tech if they can't get it right, great video!!!
Hey Scarlett sprites Thank you for the advice for the Mr. FPGA It worked perfectly with my controllers that f12 really helped out thanks again 🤙
I’m glad that helped man! Hope you’re enjoying that setup!
@@ScarletSprites yeah man I'm loving it bro ✊
Thank GOD they added shoulder buttons. Without it the options would be so limited, there are so many 2d games I want to play on Steam and I am going to have fun using this pad
Nice, didn't notice the difference in the font until you pointed it out lol. Glad to see you're slowly coming back with NEO GEO vids! 👍
PS. To all the haters, screw emulation and get you a MISTER FPGA for the superior experience not even the NG BT dongle can touch...
WIRED, CRT, and NO LATENCY.... Nuff said. 🤷
I'm saving up for a mister myself 😅
They’re pretty damn good
Been using on the neo geo mini
What I want 8BitDo to do is make a wireless kit for NeoGeo controllers-from AES to CD.
I also love what 8BitDo did with the design: it’s like if the Super Nintendo controller and the NeoGeo CD controller made sweet love, and made an amazing controller. It may have its father’s shoulder pads but it’s definitely got it’s mother’s good looks!
So bummed I wasn’t able to preorder in Australia & still can’t get one yet. Hopefully this isn’t a US only release. Like you I want to use it with original hardware if I can.
3:38 how come 8tendo didn’t italicized the letters?
Yeah it’s terrible lol.
I know the original control pads need maintenance with its directional pad from time to time. In terms if reliability do these and a modified SNK mini controller have the same issue?
Curious to know if this will work on Xbox Series consoles with the Wingman XB.
So does this pad work for the Neo Geo AES system🕹🎮😀👍🏾
That’s covered in the video as well.
They freaking dropped the ball for not making this compatible with the Neo Geo ASP.
I would agree. For something that is officially licensed and newer than the Mini, that was a miss.
@@ScarletSprites i hope someone finds a way. Keep us updated bro.
I purchased two of these, and I LOVE the clicky microswitches that the controllers for the mini lacked. Having said that, I wish they would have included a dongle for the AES. That would have made purchase really worth it. I'm really hoping that they correct this, and come up with something in the near future.
I agree but they never made dongles for any of their other controllers m. I don’t think any 8bit do work on vintage hardware
@@ianmathewswhat are you talking about? There are adapters for the NES, SNES, Genesis and probably a few others. I use a few of them with SNAC adapters on the MiSTer as it has lower latency and it's way more reliable than using bluetooth.
@@gcolombelli interesting, I only purchased the Sega Saturn controllers so news to me. You use SNAC with a wireless dongle? I prefer hard wired, I have a couple 9ft usbC and usb-micro for the MiSTer. I wish the 8bitdo were all usb-c and I wish they had hard wired cables for using on original console. 1st world problems!
@@ianmathews Yup, weird as it is, I did use the SNAC adapter with the wireless dongles on the N30 and SN30. Mostly to make sure the SNAC adapter was OK and the issue was really sloppy tolerances with the cheap clone controllers I tested and failed to work with SNAC. The N30 feels really good when playing NES games, however, I must admit I'm yet to try an original NES controller, where I live those are difficult to come by and way overpriced.
It should work on the Steam Deck, right? I have plans using it for MAME.
It should. Definitely works for PC/MAME and Pis.
Is it possible to connect them to the MVSX?
Thank you for the honest review! I was looking forward to your comments. Seem you had nearly the same disappointments I did but to me, the killer is the click wheel just not being there. Just feels too mushy and has more travel than my originals. Not to mention not working with original hardware without a $50 BT lag introducing adapter is concerning. Also to note as of now does not work with analogue pocket with doc. I see this as an emulator and mister device only currently. And for those its a great controller and finally something reasonable compared to the previous mini controller which was unacceptable.
I’ll be honest, without MiSTer I probably wouldn’t have bought this. The lack of DB15 is kind of a deal breaker. I agree that this is, for now, pretty much a device for emulators.
I bought one just for using it with the MiSTer, this one and the M30 are great for general use, not just for their respective consoles. Sure, there are a few things that could be improved, but overall this is a great addition.
Mine arrived today. The up direction doesn't make a click noise. Has anyone else seen that on theirs? I'm assuming it's a manufacturing defect, just wondering how common it is.
That sucks, I’d definitely exchange it.
@@ScarletSprites Cheers. Luckily it doesn't look like too widespread of an issue as no one else has replied. I bought from the official 8BitDo store so I'm sure they'll be able to exchange it. I sent them a video of the problem yesterday, so just waiting to hear back. These things happen.
5:27 on my controller start and select is grey.
Interesting 8-bitdo must have changed it since this video review i've just ordered one myself So I'm curious now if they will be grey or black I'm hoping they're grey
You said this pad has never been reproduced but SNK did make a version for PS2 called "Neo Geo Pad 2"
Reproduced in a wireless form by Retrobit or 8Bitdo.
I’m one of those “cretins” that bought it for the MiSTer lol 😅 Should be arriving any day now from China (AliXpress was the only option for the UK as Amazon UK wasn’t stocking it at the time of pre-order) Can’t wait to try it out. Glad to hear it gets the SS thumbs up! 🎉
I assume this works with the SNK Arcade Stick?
Inexplicably it doesn’t. Just the Neo Geo Mini.
@@ScarletSprites that completely sucks.
@@VampireJack10yup no buy for me.
$50 for a neo geo bluetooth adapter. Humbly smoking the crack!
Is it compatible with the Mini Neo Geo consoles?
That’s covered in the first minute of the video.
And great video as well
Thanks!
Does it work with the SNK Arcade Stick Pro?
Nope.
@@ScarletSprites Damn! Yet it works with the Mini? That sucks man!
Do you think they will address this with a FW Update?
I want this but it doesnt work on switch
It’ll now work with the USB2 adapter, which is another purchase unfortunately.
Nice, your review is the one I was waiting for!
Granted, I got my preorder in a few days ago but haven’t had a chance to open it and play it yet. Maybe those black select/start buttons were easier to source or make but yeah, slight disappointment.
Yeah it’s minor. That font though is less forgiveable lol.
Love it, bought two.
I’m holding out for a different color or possibly Metal Slug design for my 2P.
I wonder if SNK did not want 8BITDO to use the font or have other similarities, to avoid confusion with the original NEO GEO controller 🤔
It’s kind of tough to mistake with the shoulder buttons and it being wireless. Whatever the reason though it’s unfortunate. I may still get some acetone or turpentine and remove some of the extra fonts.
@@ScarletSprites You’re committed for sure! I respect that 😉
Anyone know if this works with the consolized Neo-Geo from Aliexpress?
If they are using DB15 ports like most do, then no. Not out of the box anyways. With the NeoBT? Yes.
@@ScarletSprites NeoBT...intresting...i shall have a look
The Aliexpress consolized Neo-Geo does have USB ports as well as the DB15. I'll buy the controller and check it out if it doesn't work natively, I'll get a NeoBT
Those Aliexpress Neo Geo MVS consoles also have USB-A type ports as well as DB-15 ports ( So i will test it out when my controller arrives, and post on here if they do )
@@albey1816 Please post your finding 🙂
Neo geo cd controller is arguably the nicest looking console controller ever. Snk is amazing.
I’d agree with this too. I’ve always liked how large it is too. It always felt better in my hands.
It's about time this happened 👍👍
Agreed! I’m so glad it did though.
Games Care in Brazil, makes Bluetooth connection for all models of Neo Geo consoles, even for the MVS board. ❤
Good to know! Is there a website?
Great video! About the switch compatibility, 8bitdo has since released a firmware update for their bluetooth USB dongle for various systems (switch,ps classic, md mini, etc) that adds support for the neogeocd pad. So If you have one of those, its now possible to use this pad on the switch (and other systems)
Yeah, I had already recorded by the time that happened. I called out in the description for everyone though.
@@ScarletSpritesSorry about that! I was on mobile when I 1st watched and didn't check de description! Now...i was wondering if the 8bitdo Bluetooth dongle would work with your db15 do usb converter? Even though the 2.4gz dongle didn't work...since the BT dongle pretty much presents itself as a switch pro controller
@@MarceloMedeirosb I thought it would too since it seems to be more in line with Switch and PS4 compatibility. Sadly it doesn’t. I’ll just have to wait for the Neo BT to restock.
Just got this, the only bad part is the Start and Select font.
If you’re reading this 8bitdo, please make this awesome NEOGEO controller compatible with the SNK Arcade Stick Pro! 😁
Now I wish I bought this system back in the day. The prices for this is through the roof.
Huuuuuuge missed opportunity!!
A DB15 adapter included would mean I’d pick two up on release.
Such a shame. Any guesses on whether there’ll be an adapter in future?
I’m going to say it doesn’t happen. If they worked on this for three years and didn’t feel the need to launch that alongside of the controller, then I can’t imagine that they suddenly think it’s a good idea after the fact. They also never went back and did the PC Engine which I’d have to assume has a larger install base than Neo Geo. Sadly I just don’t think we will ever get it.
@@ScarletSprites I’d imagine you’re right. Never mind…
Anyway, as always, good to see another Scarlet Sprites video. 🕹️
Hi, can you give me a link to the 8bit do test latency ,,,i don't find it ? thank you
The shoulder buttons kick ass. Makes this my "go to" snes controller.
They are way better than I thought they would be.
This controller sounds great! I'm definitely getting one. Thanks for the review. Have you ever had any issues with the sticks on your original pads wearing out? I hope 8bitdo found a way to avoid the micro switch failures that I've heard about regarding the original controllers.
Yes, I have three originals and one of them is a little worn. Laserbear.net sells a rehab kit for them though.
I really wanted I've for my original Neo Geo CD. I already have more than enough controllers for my other consoles and PC. It's a Pass for me but still amazing product.
Anyone have any luck getting it to work with a Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro?
I don’t think it does, even with latest firmware. Another miss imo especially since it’s another SNK product.
@@ScarletSpritesI'm tempted to spring for the V2 BT adapter but I don't want to take the chance on a "maybe."
I can confirm updating the firmware on the controller, 2.4 dongle, & V1 BT Adapter doesn't work even with a Mayflash Magic S Adapter.
@@ScarletSpritesI picked one up "assuming" it would work since it's compatible with the Neo Geo Mini.
@@ScarletSpritesI got confirmation from Neocvera that it works with the V2 BT Adapter (probably with updated firmware) & the MayFlash Magic NS Adapter.
The lag chart is only when 1000hertz polling is being used
It’s also specific to MiSTer. It’s only meant to be a guesstimate.
I think the mister testing data also applies to PC's as well if you force 1000hz polling rate in windows
most 8bit do controllers have the star and heart buttons
they use them like home and media buttons on switch and playstation (assume xbox has the same thing i dont have one)
Yeah, I’m kind of picking up on that now. If nothing else it’s two extra buttons to use and map. Sounds like they have default options in some consoles though.
-There are reports already of dead/mushy microswitches from factory, while others have reported some of the micros dying on first day of use making imposible to hit diagonals.
That’s interesting. I did wonder if these could be repaired with the LaserBear kit if necessary. I was hoping no one would need to know that for a few years though.
I spoke with an 8bitdo rep and he told me they have absolutely no plans to add support for any further systems to firmware updates. This is very disappointing. I pre-ordered four of these thinking at the very least they would add support for the Analogue Pocket Dock. I thought they were nearly partners at this point. I woukd have much rather had original AES/DB15 dongle support + Analogue Pocket + Switch, than to have it work with the low point in SNK history, NeoGeo Mini and PC/Android. I know there are other ways to get those working, but I just spent $160 on these.. I'm not keen on dropping more cash! :(
Thanks for passing that along. I was wondering if I should buy the Wireless Adapter 2 or wait to see if they add firmware support down the line.
