Something i REALLY liked about this game is the fact that the boss fights feel like boss fights. In the previous games (maybe i should mention i played only the games released on Steam) they felt like fighting against just playable characters (with touched numbers in the case of EV).
i remember buying SHINOVI VERSUS just to see what fanservice it has, and it had a lot so much i got desensitized after a pro-long play, what actually kept me going is the amount of various fighting styles, weapons, and transformation outfits it had. i started liking a lot, never liked cowards who say they enjoyed embarrassing games by playing them ironically. and so i bought ESTIVAL VERSUS , and when i saw this video i instantly want to buy this one as well.
This one actually has good mechanics, they improved the dashing and parry ,and the combos ect, this is a decent beat em up! this game is also on a new engine different from estival and shinovi , its way smoother too.
I complete senran kagura burst re:newal, estival versus and shinovi versus with all achievements, then I complete the story of senran kagura 2:deep crimson and by far re:newal is the best senran kagura I ever played. Not only for the fan service, but the amazing gameplay a little bit more technical than estival and shinovi. I just love the remove of multiplayer, because it accuse BIG problems for balance. The graphics looks amazing compared to the predecessors. Oh, and now they update for the ps5 so it runs perfectly well. Best senran kagura game.
I was trying to get my buds who don't really play action games interested more in the genre and we were able to 100% (every character maxed, every mission A ranked) Sk estival versus while drunk and half to fully asleep. Does this game put up more of a fight than that one? Was mind numbing and brain smoothing to endlessly combo every single enemy in the air. This one might be fun if it isn't piss easy on the hardest difficulty or seemingly tuned for players to j/o while they're playing unless I completely misunderstand the appeal of these games? Maybe this just looks cool to people who play genshin impact or some shit like that?
its pretty good, and the DLC are free on first release, i found that really cool of them to give those away, DLC you got for PBS or atleast some of them work here so thats cool too, the only prob i had was the FPS which was fixed in later patches, sad to see guest characters go tho, for a second i thought we could get gameplay for Bansho or Soji
About the difficulty you encountered with the kiss "minigame", you try checking if you have your controller gyroscope turn on or off, that´s something which can ruin a game.
So this is that Game with a Censored Gameplay Thing but where are the pixeletet Boobies and Censored Thing like blacked Scenes and completely awkward cuts xD Looks good and playing better than the original. Nice Video btw
Gameplay in burst is better, but ev gets you way more for your money. Burst renewal has far less content for the same price. For about 30 more dollars in dlc you can get close to the amount of ev but still not quite make it.
Battle changes that make enemy attacks more telegraphed make parrys, blocks and dodges way more useful in combat which really helps the meta of the gameplay. The speed is closer to SV now than it is to EV, and dash cancels are more useful. Overall it makes combat feel a lot better than EV, but as I said earlier, content is much more limited. Edit: Also making Frantic mode an "All-in" sort of deal rather than something you just switch to mid-stage made the game a little harder to completely break.
Now Pleaaase! Remake Senran Kagura 2 on the Switch That was the Best game with the best/ more consistent story in my opinion The tag mechanic was really good in my opinion
I have actually wanted to get into the Senran Kagura series and I've had a hard time doing so because I'm not really into hack and slash or Musou games.. You mentioned early on in the video that Japanese gameplay tends to be turn-based RPG, that sounds like an amazing idea! What are the odds of a senran kagura being turn-based or possibly even tactics RPG? Is there another game like senran kagura that is turn-based or tactics that you could recommend?
You just sold me on this, purely on the fanservice, the clothing customization, and the intimacy mode. Hopefully this is a good entry into the series, as I never played one before, lol. I have both PS4 and an okay-ish PC (i5-4690K, 8GB RAM, GTX970) that I think I can run this, but I'll be getting it on PC simply due to the lousy Sony censorship. One problem is that I went to the game's Steam page... and holy molly at those DLC's... total of nearly 100 bucks worth on DLC's alone?? I guess I better wait for a sale then, lol.
@@SaberisloveSaberislife ps4 version has bad fps dips i got it, get it on sale on steam ,my laptop runs it better ,any pc 2017 and newer should run it better
Gotta say I love your videos man, for some time now. I've just been a silent subber. I love your content from series dives and where to start vids, to your reviews which, like this video are exceptionally well done. Its honestly a sad state of the industry that you cover more in your review than any mid to big-name site would ever attempt. You actually play your games which one would think is a requirement in doing reviews, but alas. Sorry for the rant but I'm so sick of the gaming press, such as Eurogamer's shitty DoA6 review which went on a tangent about a fanservice-y fighting game series including fanservice, yet that same dude goes on about extreme violence and male sexiness, double-standards galore. So far from what I've played of this game, its been great. I'm on PS4Pro and its been smooth as silk so far. I do bemoan the stupid censorship, but the importing of previous purchases and collector's edition got me to pick it up. My girlfriend likes all the little collectables and the art in the series. I love how we each have our fave characters and playstyles. My biggest fear is like you said, going from this game to Shinovi Versus and Estival Versus, both of which I have but never finished. I'm really glad that the older title(s) got remade so I can finally see the beginning and hope that part 2 is remade. Thanks again for the very informative reviews, you have one of the best gaming channels right now, and not following click-bait trends like Downward Thrust, CleanPrince etc is commendable. The positivity is refreshing and what I love about the hobby, its a quality pastime and its great to see others share that as well.
I have like all the Senran Kagura games on Steam except PBS, but didnt played any so far. When i start, with which should i start? Should i play Burst Renewal because its the remake of the first Game or should i play Shinovi Versus>Estival Versus>Burst Renewal?
I mean, it really depends on your perspective regarding continuity: If you just want to follow the technical and gameplay evolution through the years, I'd suggest to go from Shinovi Versus to Burst Re:Newal. Now, it you want to have an idea of how everything started in the story and why the girls are like that and such, you would want to start with Burst Re:Newal and then finally go to the Versus games. Although I'm not completely sure _IF_ the story canon of Burst Re:Newal (as well as Senran Kagura 1: Shōjo-tachi no Shinei + Senran Kagura Burst, both for the 3DS) actually ties with the canon of the Versus games and PBS. Burst (3DS) is the only Senran Kagura game I am playing right now, and I'm basing everything about the timeline differences from what I saw here on TH-cam (one of the key things I read is that Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson follows up from Burst (or at least the Hanzō part of Burst) and has a very conclusive story in its own. I haven't played that game yet, so I can't say for sure. No spoilers about it to me, please). My two guesses are that: 1・Senran Kagura 2 and Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus are two individual sequels from the same story told in SK1/Burst/Burst Re:Newal, and this may have caused that story timeline split (being SK2 the alternate one, since SK2 is the only following game of its own canon and the fact that SKSV came _before_ SK2). 2・Both of the animes (which I also haven't watched) are also canon and and the Versus games, PBS and maybe even the Japan-only Mobile games are placed in-between both seasons and SK1/Burst/Burst Re:Newal and SK2 are unrelated.
YSN even made a guide video on where to start on the Senran Kagura series (/watch?v=sWz45mc_AZ8). It's a very recent video, as of now (it was posted shortly after Burst Re:Newal's Western launch), maybe it could help you with this.
In my opinion Re Newal has the best combat system from the franchise and Graphics. But it misses a bit in Echi EVS had more in that regard. And o boy do i miss the microphone function. With the Handheld games you could use the microphone to flip up the skirts in intimacy mode by blowing into it. Good old days.
To be honest, i want to buy this. I REALLY want to buy this. Unfortunately, my PC it's not powerful enough to play it, so the only option to me is the censored PS4 version, but i'm against censorship. I don't know what to do
I've thought about that. Unfortunately, in my country (Spain) the game is pretty hard to find, even new. In fact, I've seen stores selling the game more cheaper new than used
For those wondering about the PS4 censorship, I talk about it at 14:33.
