Agree on 7/10. I had lots of fun with everything but the map was just so small, it takes like 1 minute to get from end to end. Horizon in general needs larger maps IMO, it doesn't need to be the Crew 2 but when "road trips" are a couple minutes it's a problem. Playground is great at filling the maps with things to do around every corner but now it just needs to be spread out a little bit.
I don't think it's the size, it's the lack of content in that map. If 'its the biggest' then why does the hot wheels dlc feel bigger? Because it's more entertaining and rich in complexity in its design. This dlc feels like a 6-7, but in comparison to fh3 dlcs, it's a 4 to me.

I enjoyed the DLC quite a lot, but I do agree that replay value is close to nothing. I really like the switchback drift zone, and especially the dirt mountain pass. I also quite like the car list, although I think the RAM concept, Traveler Morris and Exomotive buggy were kind of bland and useless. And the 69th Hoonigan reskin car, although I'm a huge fan of rally racing, could easily be replaced by another rally car which I'd assume isn't hard to get (maybe a VW Golf, or a Ferrari 308 GTB). Ignoring those, however, the old Koenigsegg, Saleen, open-roof Lambo, (finally) new Urus, F90 M5, and F9 buggy are far more welcome additions. I think Forza needs to focus more on its teen audience, rather than its toddler audience. People have been asking for proper paved mountain roads for ages, and although PG took a step in the right direction with this DLC's roads, it's not quite the same as what I've seen in the first Horizon (I never actually owned it, but judging by the gameplay, the scenery is gorgeous). The main game also has this. There are mountain roads, yes, but they feel way too easy. Mountain roads in real life are tight, perilous and exciting. Mountain roads in Forza look pretty and make for some scenic driving, but it's such a dull experience to actually drive them. And the mountains themselves don't really seem like actual mountains (that, or I'm just too used to what Italy or Germany offer). As for map size, I'm not saying it's little, but so far, the Hot Wheels map still feels like the biggest one yet.

They still need to give us something like FM3-4's mountain pass. I think a Horizon game set in Japan with a mountain pass, small circuit, and highway exchanges would be perfect. Make the road memorable rather than long.
"No special feeling" thats exactly how I feel about horizon 3 & 4. Its very pretty but there is no satisfaction, no challenge. It makes me wish I could go back and replay Need for Speed: Most Wanted or Underground again for the first time. Heck even Horizon 1 was pretty satisfying in comparison. I'm so tired of the necessity of accessibility in games these days... What is the point of difficulty levels if it doesnt matter if you win?

B Fuller After playing Need for Speed Payback, Forza Horizon 4 feels like shit. Forza Horizon 4 have these fucking archaic designs like the camera snapping when you try to turn it, no nitrous, the decal design controls are clumsy, the fast traveling system, you don't need to be in 1st place and the fact that the VIP pass is giving people advantages over the rest. Also spinning to win clothes and emotes are two of the most idiotic fucking things put into a video game.
If Blizzard Mountain had had the same size and more altitude like this, you could have a perfect DLC. Treasure Island is nice but Blizzard Mountain left a stronger impression.
Trailblazer should have been in the base game from the start in my opinion... Not do bothered about the treasure hunt, that's fine to stay on the island but trailblazer should have. I like the dlc but there should have been more... Bigger map, more events, maybe a new character or horizon story.... I'm going to make a hunch that the next DLC will release in April and be based around exploration... No idea what the map could hold but judging by the treasure hunt and trailblazer but either way, BRING. IT. ON!
Agree 100%. Great map, roads, trails, tracks. I cannot believe there is no multiplayer. There are 11 Forza games historically and they have ALL had public multiplayer. This DLC is the first Forza game with no multiplayer. PG have completely misrepresented what this game is supposed to be. Sending you a tweet for a video idea on this.
My opinion: - The cars: 👌, all of the cars I've noticed to come from this DLC I welcome with open arms. - The map: It's ok, lots of good views especially with the weathered hills, the mountain (volcano?), the beautiful aurora borealis, and violent storms, but it's not very revolutionary, it feels too similar to the base game. The aforementioned weather features are purely visual aside from some rain but don't pose any new challenges like Blizzard Mountain's... Blizzards. The roads are definitely a blast to throw your car around as well. The needle climb is a welcome addition to the game but it's no fujimi kaido or even red rock from fh1 as to me it's just not long enough to really enjoy the journey, it ends just as I really start enjoying it. - The events: I really liked the events in fortune island. They're often very technical while also incorporating a lot of the map's severe elevation changes, especially in the cross country events. The normal zones in the map like danger zones or speed traps are fun but aren't special compared to the base game, would've liked to see a lot more of the trailblazer zones though (something I think we won't likely see in the next expansion pass just to keep fortune island special but we'll probably see more of in future FH games. - The "story:" Very creative "plot" for fortune island, I enjoyed it a lot --mostly the first few hours of it--. However, besides tediously searching for the treasure (which lets be honest, basically is just a barn find with different prizes), it wasn't really challenging. Some of the riddles were waaay too obvious, most times basically just a weirdly worded GPS command with a car thrown in. The prize itself wasn't really interesting either, sure it's 1 million credits and possibly a fancy car which the first time is AMAZING but after the 3rd or 4th, becomes so expected it's no longer satisfying (mo money != mo happiness). I also get the same feeling when playing through FH3 where I feel sorry for the imaginary people who have given it their all just to find out they've wasted their time and have to watch the same guy become a millionare over and over and over (the game even acknowledges this multiple times!!). Conclution: definitely worth buying (the expansion pack as said in the video) because it's a fresh new take on FH4, on a fresh new map that's VERY scenic and technical, with a fresh take on FH career mode, with some jaw dropping cars. But don't expect it to be on the level of the previous expansions like Blizzard Mountaion, etc. as even though it has a lot of new stuff, it unfortunately plays it a bit too safe and doesn't utilize it's features to the fullest. Something else I'd like to add is that I feel like this map is just a prelude, a beta test, of what playground games is planning to add to future FH games. Maybe in FH5 there WILL be a rival to Fujimi Kaido, their WILL be a lot more Trailblazer events, and etc. Kind of like Blizzard Mountain is almost a beta test/prelude to FH4's Winter season. I tried to include as much of my thoughts as possible but I probably missed a lot. Congratulations to those who actually read this whole thing xD
I used a route creator to make lot of events, perfecting skills, and trying to get int top50 in rivals too. I already spend there 40 hours, so there is some replay value.
I made 73 in a cross country rival and was so chuffed, then I saw I was 73rd in a total pool of just 423 players :(. All the rivals are so empty most of them have less than 500.
I'm not impressed, it might have the biggest expansion map they've released so far but that's really not saying much and not really worth much on it's own. The car selection isn't very good either, the only cars that are somewhat unique are 3/4 of the supercars you're given as Treasure Hunt rewards, but good luck getting more than one of each because they can't be bought in the Autoshow at all. The rest of the cars are just more reskins, including another Hoonigan/Ford rally car which personally I was sick of even before this expansion came out. Though overall my biggest issue with Fortune Island is the fact that it made it crystal clear the kind of audience Playground is trying to cater to. The races are extremely easy and not just because they're laid out in such a way that you hardly ever need to use the brakes at all, but the Drivatars are actually a lot slower than they are on the mainland. Racing in Fortune Island on Unbeatable difficulty is easier than racing on the mainland at Above Average difficulty and even if that's not enough for you the tracks in Fortune Island offer more wall-riding opportunities than ever before. Even the cliffs Super GT shows at 2:00 in the video can be ridden like a wall, I shit you not. Don't even get me started on the so called Treasure Hunt, those "riddles" are so easy it's insulting. It feels like the developers couldn't figure out what to add to the DLC to make it worth $20 so they thought "yeah just give them a shitload of free CR instead".
I agree with everything BUT the AI difficulty. I'm not the best driver, but I play on unbeatable on the mainland no problem, whereas on fortune island I have to turn the AI down a notch to Pro on some races to make the podium.
@@RefrigeratedTP I play on Unbeatable with the keyboard and no assists or rewind in both Fortune Island and the mainland. Difference is on the mainland I usually have to restart a race at least 4 times before I get a podium finish, unless it's a Cross Country race or a Dirt race that actually takes place mostly on dirt (keyboard doesn't matter as much there I guess). Yet I breezed through Fortune Island without having to restart once, never finishing below 1st place. The only race where I had to break a sweat was The Kraken but only barely. It's not just the races either, I did most of the PR stunts with a stock R34, only ones where I had to swap cars were some of the Speed Traps/Zones and the Trailblazing activities.

One thing I've been having a load of fun doing is racing down a touge blueprint and building B class cars to run down it. 22B was the fastest one so far. Otherwise, you're right. This expansion is great if a bit hollow. Great bit of fun.
I really enjoyed Fortune Island, but I agree; it's too short. I wish there was more on it, not necessarily in land size, but in events. I also wish there were online races/events on it.
I agree with your Analysis of the expansion. I completed everything in 10:35:00. There isn't a multiplayer and therefore zero replay appeal. Playground Games ruined the multiplayer and rivals in FH4, and completely omitted multiplayer Fortune Island. I would rate the entire package at 5/10 and would NOT recommend either game to a friend.
The most fun I've had on the island is ripping around the island in an off road buggy at full and trying not to crash....I don't know why I enjoy that so much, but I find myself doing it quite often. I don't mind the lack of multiplayer because I haven't ever done a multiplayer race in any of the driving games I've played.
I love it personally. Its basically handling drifting and offroad island. And the kraken rivals event is the best rivals event in the game imo. Very challenging
I love fortune island for picture taking. The map itself is really small but it feels big and I find myself going there more often than not for drift meets on the squiggly road and I just love it. I like when pgg seperates the playerbase in terms of driving type. In Fh3 you had the parking lot over in surfers paradise for the drifters and the car show offers. And then you had the airport. This feels like the drift and rally spot weve been waiting for as the highway in britian is mostly stocked with people doing pulls there was no real spot for drifters and rally. Some might argue that the drift road gets repetitive and it does if you play alone. But just like in fh3, which you had a small parking lot to drift in, you now have all this road to tadem down. The treasure hunts are also great, requiring me to do things and drive cars I wouldn’t typically drive and I do enjoy not having all dlc cars unlocked right off the bat, it leads to more hours of gameplay. Overall I find it well worth a buy. I give it a 8/10
I liked the dlc. Whole island looks gorgeous. Riddles and rewards are fun and keep the game fresh. Only downside I can tell is the lack of multiplayer. I hope it will be added in a future update
I completely agree. I’m 3 exhibitions away from completing it, and after that there’s not much to come back to (I’m not a drifter either). What I liked: the mountain pass along the cliffs, the Kraken and Goliath are excellent, the treasure hunts were fun and rewarding but too easy. The most disappointing thing though was the size of the map. The devs were bragging about “biggest dlc map ever), but with only 63 new roads (compared to the 500+ on the mainland) I felt kind of disappointed. Even when following the roads you can get to anywhere on the island in 3 minutes. All in all a lot of fun, I had it as part of the Ultimate edition (Forza Horizon is the only franchise I pre order blind in Ultimate) but I would even fork out the 15 euros or so for it. Bit disappointed about the size of the map and the replayability, but I’m glad I played it. Happy holidays from Belgium!
I bought the $100 edition of the game so I'd have "everything." My honest opinion, is that Fortune Island is about $1 worth of content. I've no idea how much it normally costs, but anything over $1 is a lot in my opinion. This is my first Forza Horizon game, so I wasn't expecting a whole new town or anything. It's definitely made me not expect much from future expansions.

20 Trailblazer events? There's only ~20 of each PR stunt type on the mainland map. I liked the DLC a lot. Roads were well designed and interesting to drive on, and all of the events and PR stunts that are there, were fun. Only major criticism is the lack of a new multiplayer hopper for the FI events, but I'm still crossing my fingers that it'll come in an update. As for minor criticisms - some more colour to the actual terrain would have been nice, though I haven't seen it in any other season yet. And I think the drift content in the expansion seems a bit easier than the mainland stuff. If you look at the expansion as a car pack with 10 new cars in it, plus the rest, it's actually pretty solid value for what they are charging. Just hook it into the multiplayer to give it some replay value please.
100% agreed. I love the new landscape and the new cars that they have added, but there's almost no replay value. Ever since having fully completed this DLC, I find myself venturing less and less to Fortune Island as there is simply nothing for me to do there. Adding online multiplayer to this map would do wonders, and would eliminate pretty much all of my problems with it. Overall, I did enjoy this expansion, but there are things that the developers could add to improve it (online multiplayer being one of them). I do have high hopes for the second expansion after playing through this one, though. Great video as always.

The next DLC could literally be half the size of Fortune Island, but a city of some sort that implements PvP and exclusive rewards for those winning races, and I'd be happy with the entirety of the game. Maybe even add really challenging events weekly to the game with bigger rewards, the ones now are just too bland, and easy. There's no feeling of accomplishment about anything in this game, I have 481 cars and 10m credits, what do I do now? There's no replay ability for this game. When I win cars from wheelspins I put them in the auction house and give them away for the lowest amount possible for fun to see how fast they'll sell. That's literally the standing point for replay ability in this game. Lol! Plus you literally don't even have to race to obtain credits in Horizon 4 just using the auction house, and by obtaining skill points by just crashing into trees, and walls. Lol! I wish they'd work on the car sounds and sound glitches, maybe put skill points in wheelspins as well. It'd also be nice if wallriding was patched, it's just something in a racing game that shouldn't exist. This game just needs something that will kick some competitiveness off between players, and I hope that's what will happen in the future of this game. This is my first Forza Horizon, but not Forza, and I can just simply say this game just needs some real PvP, and some more innovative ideas. Playground Games did an awesome job with the seasons, and events that surround them. I think if they just work harder off of that this game would be a classic Forza game as Forza Motorsport 3 and 4 were... well, in my opinion.
Amount of content and value is still insanely good comparing to the rival Crew 2(season pass that costs twice more than the game gives 2cars every month for one year, that anyone can buy with in-game credits anyway).
Lack of multiplayer is the only big downside for me, otherwise I think the tracks are definitely a step above main game. Alot less 90 degree angles and alot more real corners, length of lap races seems better, and dirt tracks are definitely improved upon as well. I've been using your gymkhana 9 focus tune for most of the dirt stuff, on top of being super fun to drive, it's really controllable when you need to be sideways. Really trustworthy around those cliffs in the NW. HMU if you need some good s1 GT car type tunes, got a good SLS AMG, z06, gt350r, 8c, Bentley gt speed, etc.
I like tearing it up in the Rebel TRX the game gives you, but I imagined the island would be pretty bare after the final two races. I'll probably do those later today. Either way, it's not bad. Not much incentive to come back unless you're a drift nut, but not bad.

I drove my mums m2 competition it’s like a really hot built chick smacks you in the face with a huge chilly fggk it’s so fun and quick to drive lol and I only took the v6 TT m3 motor to 4000RPM :)
i got it for 10€ and its good for drifting plus you get a bmw m5, urus 2019 and aventador SJ and some othe cars. good DLC I met some other drifters and we had great fun
Im actually suprised you'd reccomend this expansion. The positives of the expansion are all things that couldve been in the base game to begin with. It almost seems as though they took these things out of the base game so they could charge people extra money.
I would recommend it simply on the basis that it was fairly fun to complete and keeps the game fresh for some time. But still, not the best expansion they've come out with.

I miss car bucket lists. I wish the dlc would have been an extension on the main map. Would have been good to use the inaccessible bridges in the top right of the map to go to a new area.
I was personally hoping for so much more, seeing as they said it was their "Biggest expansion map they've released so far", but....It just feels like the same size as Blizzard Mountain back on FH3 to me. I wish that there was so much more....On the upside, that switchback road is good for drifting.
The fact FH4 doesn't push you to be good at racing and gives out XP and progression for finishing 10th is really diminishing my enjoyment of the game. Thats a shame cause if the progression was at least a little better (like, give a big bump to cash and xp if you finish top 3) I'd enjoy it more.
I enjoyed it while I agree that there’s not much content I feel what’s there is awesome. More trailblazers would have been nice. Drift club 2.0 is the most fun I’ve had on horizon in a while. The map is good the storm effects are very nice. The treasure hunts while pretty easy were a fun and new thing. Overall I’m pretty happy about it and I’m excited for the next one.

I got the deluxe edition back in October so I played it a little bit and it was okay... But they really need to step their game up and add a better selection of Hyper Cars
As described it's thin but what's there is fun. But no credit dumps like a player house that may be expanded your garage space and the lack of a formalised multiplayer race format that doesn't drive people insane is a huge issue

The 60fps mode runs at 60 which I would prefer. In the end I guess it doesn't matter that much, I just wondered about it.
Was a decent expansion but not the best. Don't think I'll be returning to Fortune Island unless I want to especially go drifting. Be sticking the main map otherwise. I give it 7/10
Rez What’s you’re idea of ‘beating it’? You can consider getting to round 10 as beating it, or getting every bonus board, road, PR stunts Etc. I did everything on the island but I still play on it to drift and off-road a bit.

@@maxSVB re-read my original post. There is a little bit of nostalgia but it has more to do with a lack of quality, challenge, and satisfaction in the recent Horizon games.
B Fuller After playing Need for Speed Payback, Forza Horizon 4 feels like shit. Forza Horizon 4 have these fucking archaic designs like the camera snapping when you try to turn it, no nitrous, the decal design controls are clumsy, the fast traveling system, you don't need to be in 1st place and the fact that the VIP pass is giving people advantages over the rest. Also spinning to win clothes and emotes are two of the most idiotic fucking things put into a video game.

If Blizzard Mountain had had the same size and more altitude like this, you could have a perfect DLC. Treasure Island is nice but Blizzard Mountain left a stronger impression.
Trailblazer should have been in the base game from the start in my opinion... Not do bothered about the treasure hunt, that's fine to stay on the island but trailblazer should have.
I like the dlc but there should have been more... Bigger map, more events, maybe a new character or horizon story....
I'm going to make a hunch that the next DLC will release in April and be based around exploration... No idea what the map could hold but judging by the treasure hunt and trailblazer but either way, BRING. IT. ON!

Agree 100%. Great map, roads, trails, tracks. I cannot believe there is no multiplayer. There are 11 Forza games historically and they have ALL had public multiplayer. This DLC is the first Forza game with no multiplayer. PG have completely misrepresented what this game is supposed to be. Sending you a tweet for a video idea on this.

My opinion:
- The cars: 👌, all of the cars I've noticed to come from this DLC I welcome with open arms.
- The map: It's ok, lots of good views especially with the weathered hills, the mountain (volcano?), the beautiful aurora borealis, and violent storms, but it's not very revolutionary, it feels too similar to the base game. The aforementioned weather features are purely visual aside from some rain but don't pose any new challenges like Blizzard Mountain's... Blizzards. The roads are definitely a blast to throw your car around as well. The needle climb is a welcome addition to the game but it's no fujimi kaido or even red rock from fh1 as to me it's just not long enough to really enjoy the journey, it ends just as I really start enjoying it.
- The events: I really liked the events in fortune island. They're often very technical while also incorporating a lot of the map's severe elevation changes, especially in the cross country events. The normal zones in the map like danger zones or speed traps are fun but aren't special compared to the base game, would've liked to see a lot more of the trailblazer zones though (something I think we won't likely see in the next expansion pass just to keep fortune island special but we'll probably see more of in future FH games.
- The "story:" Very creative "plot" for fortune island, I enjoyed it a lot --mostly the first few hours of it--. However, besides tediously searching for the treasure (which lets be honest, basically is just a barn find with different prizes), it wasn't really challenging. Some of the riddles were waaay too obvious, most times basically just a weirdly worded GPS command with a car thrown in. The prize itself wasn't really interesting either, sure it's 1 million credits and possibly a fancy car which the first time is AMAZING but after the 3rd or 4th, becomes so expected it's no longer satisfying (mo money != mo happiness). I also get the same feeling when playing through FH3 where I feel sorry for the imaginary people who have given it their all just to find out they've wasted their time and have to watch the same guy become a millionare over and over and over (the game even acknowledges this multiple times!!).
Conclution: definitely worth buying (the expansion pack as said in the video) because it's a fresh new take on FH4, on a fresh new map that's VERY scenic and technical, with a fresh take on FH career mode, with some jaw dropping cars. But don't expect it to be on the level of the previous expansions like Blizzard Mountaion, etc. as even though it has a lot of new stuff, it unfortunately plays it a bit too safe and doesn't utilize it's features to the fullest. Something else I'd like to add is that I feel like this map is just a prelude, a beta test, of what playground games is planning to add to future FH games. Maybe in FH5 there WILL be a rival to Fujimi Kaido, their WILL be a lot more Trailblazer events, and etc. Kind of like Blizzard Mountain is almost a beta test/prelude to FH4's Winter season. I tried to include as much of my thoughts as possible but I probably missed a lot.

I used a route creator to make lot of events, perfecting skills, and trying to get int top50 in rivals too. I already spend there 40 hours, so there is some replay value.
I made 73 in a cross country rival and was so chuffed, then I saw I was 73rd in a total pool of just 423 players :(. All the rivals are so empty most of them have less than 500.
I'm not impressed, it might have the biggest expansion map they've released so far but that's really not saying much and not really worth much on it's own. The car selection isn't very good either, the only cars that are somewhat unique are 3/4 of the supercars you're given as Treasure Hunt rewards, but good luck getting more than one of each because they can't be bought in the Autoshow at all. The rest of the cars are just more reskins, including another Hoonigan/Ford rally car which personally I was sick of even before this expansion came out.
Though overall my biggest issue with Fortune Island is the fact that it made it crystal clear the kind of audience Playground is trying to cater to. The races are extremely easy and not just because they're laid out in such a way that you hardly ever need to use the brakes at all, but the Drivatars are actually a lot slower than they are on the mainland. Racing in Fortune Island on Unbeatable difficulty is easier than racing on the mainland at Above Average difficulty and even if that's not enough for you the tracks in Fortune Island offer more wall-riding opportunities than ever before. Even the cliffs Super GT shows at 2:00 in the video can be ridden like a wall, I shit you not.
Don't even get me started on the so called Treasure Hunt, those "riddles" are so easy it's insulting. It feels like the developers couldn't figure out what to add to the DLC to make it worth $20 so they thought "yeah just give them a shitload of free CR instead".

The roads are nice and some of the cars are good to see back (saleen, cc8s) but other than that it's trash.
I agree with everything BUT the AI difficulty. I'm not the best driver, but I play on unbeatable on the mainland no problem, whereas on fortune island I have to turn the AI down a notch to Pro on some races to make the podium.
@@RefrigeratedTP I play on Unbeatable with the keyboard and no assists or rewind in both Fortune Island and the mainland. Difference is on the mainland I usually have to restart a race at least 4 times before I get a podium finish, unless it's a Cross Country race or a Dirt race that actually takes place mostly on dirt (keyboard doesn't matter as much there I guess). Yet I breezed through Fortune Island without having to restart once, never finishing below 1st place. The only race where I had to break a sweat was The Kraken but only barely.
It's not just the races either, I did most of the PR stunts with a stock R34, only ones where I had to swap cars were some of the Speed Traps/Zones and the Trailblazing activities.

One thing I've been having a load of fun doing is racing down a touge blueprint and building B class cars to run down it. 22B was the fastest one so far. Otherwise, you're right. This expansion is great if a bit hollow. Great bit of fun.
I really enjoyed Fortune Island, but I agree; it's too short. I wish there was more on it, not necessarily in land size, but in events. I also wish there were online races/events on it.
I agree with your Analysis of the expansion. I completed everything in 10:35:00. There isn't a multiplayer and therefore zero replay appeal.
Playground Games ruined the multiplayer and rivals in FH4, and completely omitted multiplayer Fortune Island. I would rate the entire package at 5/10 and would NOT recommend either game to a friend.

The most fun I've had on the island is ripping around the island in an off road buggy at full and trying not to crash....I don't know why I enjoy that so much, but I find myself doing it quite often. I don't mind the lack of multiplayer because I haven't ever done a multiplayer race in any of the driving games I've played.
I love it personally. Its basically handling drifting and offroad island. And the kraken rivals event is the best rivals event in the game imo. Very challenging

I love fortune island for picture taking. The map itself is really small but it feels big and I find myself going there more often than not for drift meets on the squiggly road and I just love it. I like when pgg seperates the playerbase in terms of driving type. In Fh3 you had the parking lot over in surfers paradise for the drifters and the car show offers. And then you had the airport. This feels like the drift and rally spot weve been waiting for as the highway in britian is mostly stocked with people doing pulls there was no real spot for drifters and rally. Some might argue that the drift road gets repetitive and it does if you play alone. But just like in fh3, which you had a small parking lot to drift in, you now have all this road to tadem down. The treasure hunts are also great, requiring me to do things and drive cars I wouldn’t typically drive and I do enjoy not having all dlc cars unlocked right off the bat, it leads to more hours of gameplay. Overall I find it well worth a buy. I give it a 8/10
So if I get the ultimate edition which includes this island, my sense of progression will not be spoiled by extra cars I get with it?

I liked the dlc. Whole island looks gorgeous. Riddles and rewards are fun and keep the game fresh. Only downside I can tell is the lack of multiplayer. I hope it will be added in a future update

I completely agree. I’m 3 exhibitions away from completing it, and after that there’s not much to come back to (I’m not a drifter either).
What I liked: the mountain pass along the cliffs, the Kraken and Goliath are excellent, the treasure hunts were fun and rewarding but too easy.
The most disappointing thing though was the size of the map. The devs were bragging about “biggest dlc map ever), but with only 63 new roads (compared to the 500+ on the mainland) I felt kind of disappointed. Even when following the roads you can get to anywhere on the island in 3 minutes.
All in all a lot of fun, I had it as part of the Ultimate edition (Forza Horizon is the only franchise I pre order blind in Ultimate) but I would even fork out the 15 euros or so for it. Bit disappointed about the size of the map and the replayability, but I’m glad I played it.

I bought the $100 edition of the game so I'd have "everything." My honest opinion, is that Fortune Island is about $1 worth of content. I've no idea how much it normally costs, but anything over $1 is a lot in my opinion. This is my first Forza Horizon game, so I wasn't expecting a whole new town or anything. It's definitely made me not expect much from future expansions.

20 Trailblazer events? There's only ~20 of each PR stunt type on the mainland map.
I liked the DLC a lot. Roads were well designed and interesting to drive on, and all of the events and PR stunts that are there, were fun. Only major criticism is the lack of a new multiplayer hopper for the FI events, but I'm still crossing my fingers that it'll come in an update.
As for minor criticisms - some more colour to the actual terrain would have been nice, though I haven't seen it in any other season yet. And I think the drift content in the expansion seems a bit easier than the mainland stuff.
If you look at the expansion as a car pack with 10 new cars in it, plus the rest, it's actually pretty solid value for what they are charging. Just hook it into the multiplayer to give it some replay value please.

100% agreed. I love the new landscape and the new cars that they have added, but there's almost no replay value. Ever since having fully completed this DLC, I find myself venturing less and less to Fortune Island as there is simply nothing for me to do there. Adding online multiplayer to this map would do wonders, and would eliminate pretty much all of my problems with it. Overall, I did enjoy this expansion, but there are things that the developers could add to improve it (online multiplayer being one of them). I do have high hopes for the second expansion after playing through this one, though.

The next DLC could literally be half the size of Fortune Island, but a city of some sort that implements PvP and exclusive rewards for those winning races, and I'd be happy with the entirety of the game. Maybe even add really challenging events weekly to the game with bigger rewards, the ones now are just too bland, and easy. There's no feeling of accomplishment about anything in this game, I have 481 cars and 10m credits, what do I do now? There's no replay ability for this game. When I win cars from wheelspins I put them in the auction house and give them away for the lowest amount possible for fun to see how fast they'll sell. That's literally the standing point for replay ability in this game. Lol! Plus you literally don't even have to race to obtain credits in Horizon 4 just using the auction house, and by obtaining skill points by just crashing into trees, and walls. Lol! I wish they'd work on the car sounds and sound glitches, maybe put skill points in wheelspins as well. It'd also be nice if wallriding was patched, it's just something in a racing game that shouldn't exist. This game just needs something that will kick some competitiveness off between players, and I hope that's what will happen in the future of this game. This is my first Forza Horizon, but not Forza, and I can just simply say this game just needs some real PvP, and some more innovative ideas. Playground Games did an awesome job with the seasons, and events that surround them. I think if they just work harder off of that this game would be a classic Forza game as Forza Motorsport 3 and 4 were... well, in my opinion.

Amount of content and value is still insanely good comparing to the rival Crew 2(season pass that costs twice more than the game gives 2cars every month for one year, that anyone can buy with in-game credits anyway).

When I finished the Lego Speed Champions DLC I had the same problem. I completed everything and there was nothing else to do after.

Lack of multiplayer is the only big downside for me, otherwise I think the tracks are definitely a step above main game. Alot less 90 degree angles and alot more real corners, length of lap races seems better, and dirt tracks are definitely improved upon as well. I've been using your gymkhana 9 focus tune for most of the dirt stuff, on top of being super fun to drive, it's really controllable when you need to be sideways. Really trustworthy around those cliffs in the NW. HMU if you need some good s1 GT car type tunes, got a good SLS AMG, z06, gt350r, 8c, Bentley gt speed, etc.
esp1344 I completed nearly the entire island in the Gymkhana Cosworth. One of the best allrounders in the game imo.
I've played the expansion completed to 2 end game race events. I wasn't aware of the extra free cars. Got the Viking outfit tho.

I like tearing it up in the Rebel TRX the game gives you, but I imagined the island would be pretty bare after the final two races. I'll probably do those later today. Either way, it's not bad. Not much incentive to come back unless you're a drift nut, but not bad.

But breaking up from work Friday and plan on finishing Forza 7 career mode and getting those endurance races done :):)):):) and spa long length trophy corvettes :) thank you again legend. I drove my mums m2 competition it’s like a really hot built chick smacks you in the face with a huge chilly fggk it’s so fun and quick to drive lol and I only took the v6 TT m3 motor to 4000RPM :)

Im actually suprised you'd reccomend this expansion. The positives of the expansion are all things that couldve been in the base game to begin with. It almost seems as though they took these things out of the base game so they could charge people extra money.

I would recommend it simply on the basis that it was fairly fun to complete and keeps the game fresh for some time. But still, not the best expansion they've come out with.
@@Super_GT you've always given your honest opinion on these types of things, i was just suprised that youd reccomend it at this price point. Realistically people are paying for 10 cars and whatever millions in credits, because once you're done with the maps contents thats kind of it.

I miss car bucket lists. I wish the dlc would have been an extension on the main map. Would have been good to use the inaccessible bridges in the top right of the map to go to a new area.

Pretty compelling that you can get 10mil credits from the expansion.
The fact FH4 doesn't push you to be good at racing and gives out XP and progression for finishing 10th is really diminishing my enjoyment of the game. Thats a shame cause if the progression was at least a little better (like, give a big bump to cash and xp if you finish top 3) I'd enjoy it more.

I enjoyed it while I agree that there’s not much content I feel what’s there is awesome. More trailblazers would have been nice. Drift club 2.0 is the most fun I’ve had on horizon in a while. The map is good the storm effects are very nice. The treasure hunts while pretty easy were a fun and new thing. Overall I’m pretty happy about it and I’m excited for the next one.

My thoughts pretty much. Drift Club 2 was very good. The design on the drift roads is excellent. I had fun. Just not long enough and no reason to come back.
Once in a while the seasonal trials are good and even better than on the mainland. Gives a change of pace but I don’t play it too often

Your spot on with your thoughts on this . Yeah it’s fun but it’s definitely missing lots . The last dlc for forza horizon 3 , the hot wheels expansion was so much better .

As described it's thin but what's there is fun. But no credit dumps like a player house that may be expanded your garage space and the lack of a formalised multiplayer race format that doesn't drive people insane is a huge issue

@Lumoxjr #TheNobeds #MCLACancelledsoz I know the 4K mode downsamples to 1080p and uses high quality motion blur to make everyhting looks very smooth, but you are playing at 30fps. The 60fps mode runs at 60 which I would prefer. In the end I guess it doesn't matter that much, I just wondered about it.

Rez What’s you’re idea of ‘beating it’? You can consider getting to round 10 as beating it, or getting every bonus board, road, PR stunts Etc. I did everything on the island but I still play on it to drift and off-road a bit.
