@Lithophane Maker, have you considered putting the texture on the inside instead of the outside? Then it will look like a plain ordinary lamp until turned on - surprise!
I really appreciate your TH-cam videos on Lithophanes. I’m just starting into Lithophane making and your videos help a lot. Thanks. I’ve subscribed to your Facebook group.
Really cool tool. Thank you for making it. I just wish you could make only the shade and not the supports. I tried making the supports as small as it will allow so I can just edit the stl file but when I try to download the file all I get in the zip is the settings txt file 😔
Awesome video, I'll be making a huge one soon(ish) for my wife when she decides what she wants on it .... so it could be awhile! Love the Willy Wonka guitar tune
Wow thank you for the video very helpful I have made a couple of Lithophane Bells over xmas I am hoping to make a Lamp with your help and video. I would like to reassure myself with the Cura setting you use I have a CR10S. Can you please add your setting if possible to this page? :) According to my Cura setting and the Lamp it will take a whopper 6 days 2 hrs 23 mins. That would be 6 days of nerve racking and sleepless night. hahaha
Your videos are awesome. Thanks for the knowledge on color temperature, that makes total sense now. I also especially like the Word doc subliminal messaging.
Hey buddy, long time no see. You were such a great help at getting things going for me, but then things kind of slowed down and the pandemic happened. As an acoustic guitar player, I just love this intro, and I hope you'll keep doing what you do.
Aspect ratio distortion with force height selected on lampshade. I selected 3 identically sized square images for a lampshade and expected that with force height selected I'd get 3 square pictures on the shade, instead there is vertical stretching with the end result 130mm high and 120mm wide thus distorting the image. How do I get square uncropped images on to a lampshade?
Actually, we recommend using 7 walls and 15-20% infill. A high number of walls should ensure that your litho doesn't have any infill in the important parts, but you can maybe save on material in the thicker parts! You can reference our guide here for more tips: americanfilament.us/pages/beginners-guide-to-lithophanes. And if you have a Bambu printer you can download and import the settings that we use on our printers in there as well!
I am having a lot of problems with retractions. Out of 24h, 10-12h is just retractions and in some part, its too much, filament breaks. Any suggestions ?
Great WOrk! I would do a time lapse video on the home page and maybe some transistion photos, as its hard to conceptualize how ard this is at first glance. Also minimum build sizes are good, many people have small printers.
Thanks. Another great feature and video. Have you ever shared your cura profile? It would be great to compare with others . In any event, keep up the great work.
I print on a CR10S with direct drive and an inductive abl installed, so my profile is very unique to my printer. It's more likely to mess someone else up than help them, I think
Those gloves are the best..I use them when I process my deer..I can squeeze the knife blade and drag the knife acros my hand and it doesnt cut me..this speeds up my processing a I am not afraid of cutting myself
I have a CR10S with direct drive, so my settings aren't going to be useful to most people. I'm going to make a video soon on how to tune your settings for a lithophane, and that's much more useful information

Wonderful Filament! Thanks for the 'makers' and thanks for the great PLA.
I just want to say thank you for making this Lithophane tool, and thank you even more for making it free. You are a King among men.
Wonderful lithoplane creation and easy to use.

You are an angle - thank you for sharing and doing all this work! Patron en route :)
Wow, thank you!
awesome website, videos and tools. I can't believe more nerds aren't running here for last minute gifts... I'm going to need 3 more printers ASAP.

You should make a option for making lithophane wine bottles
Je suis fan. Quel beau objet cela fait au final. Magnifique

You got something way messed up then. what are your main settings?
thank you for the vid.
I'm trying to make a lampshade. I get no .stl file only the .txt file in the created .zip file. What can cause this.
I'm only getting the settings file, no stl?
Un gran saludo desde Argentina. El tuyo es un gran aporte a la comunidad maker de todo el mundo.
Thanks for the video. Is there any concern about the bulb being too hot and melting the PLA?
What if you only want the single picture to cover the front half of the shade?
Your videos are awesome. Thanks for the knowledge on color temperature, that makes total sense now. I also especially like the Word doc subliminal messaging.
You are awesome
Awesome video, very informative to someone just starting out.
Just awesome!!
This is such a great program! Thanks for all your efforts!
You're welcome!

The best program to create lithophane, so easy, friendly interface. #bestlithophaneprogram. Thank you.
Big second on cut-proof gloves being worth it. Even better, use a deburring tool instead of an Xacto knife for smoothing edges. Easy, safe, and fast.
Hei, can you tell the infill density?
Subscribed, great work. Thanks! Trying out my first lampshade now
Welcome and thanks for the sub

Great work man!
What infill percentage is recommended? I would guess 100, but not sure.

Great advice 👍

You are a beast. Well done.
What if this is printed in 3D resin?
What resin printer is large enough to print a lampshade?
