We haven't tried, but you could. You'd have to adjust the ratio of flour to liquid since coconut flour absorbs much more liquid. Unfortunately, we don't have a recommendation for amounts at this time. We have tried King Arthur Measure for Measure flour in the same amounts
Unless it says “organic” any white sugar is not vegan because it uses bone char for the whitening. As for cane sugar ensure you read the labels for organic, raw or vegan.
We'd recommend using our strawberry cake recipe and just making cupcakes out of them (so reduce the cook time) makeitdairyfree.com/vegan-strawberry-cake/
You can use coconut milk, but you still should add the vinegar and oil to it to make buttermilk. It helps with the airy and fluffy texture. You could omit the vinegar but the texture would change.

Hi Tahira. We're sorry to hear that your cupcakes didn't turn out perfectly. It's always had to really know without being there with you, but our guess is that the vegan butter has water in it and it was just too much liquid once melted into the batter and may needed to be cooked longer. Okay so I made these gluten free and I tried 2 different flours for this recipe. 1 was arrowroot flour and it turned out horrible and gummy. 2 was all purpose rice flour and idk why but they are extremely salty? Idk I followed the recipe.. I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re gluten free too. Idk maybe i’m using bad flours to cook with..
Oh no. Arrowroot is similar to a starch like cornstarch or potato starch and is used to thicken things. The only time it's used is when in combination with many other gf flours in a specific ratio. As far as rice flour, not sure why salty, but again it shouldn't be used on its own.
