    I'll have to give these a try, I've been a fan of DR strings for a while now for precisely the reason that they don't seem to have the same break in period of extreme zingy/trebly-ness that most do so I'm intrigued to hear that comment about these.

  • @thefool2007

    Wow. Those strings sound sweet on the P Bass. I wonder how they would tame the highs on a Stingray.

    The action on that Adamovic bass looked realy nice and low. Can i ask what is the measurement for the trussrod and stringheight? And at what fret/frets? It would be a great help..thank you in advance 🤘

    Would have liked to hear these on a bass that is known to be bright such as Rickenbacker so see if they compliment the natural sound of different types of basses. Also in comparison with a more known string brand such as D'Addario for example. For me you can't beat DR Highbeams for tone or Rotos for brightness, attack and value. Not sure these would suit my playing, but I do admit they sound great. Great review

    Galli String and P Bass.... remind me of Andy Irvine who also uses among others an Italian Bass Cabinets and Heads... Andy also could be a contributor to BassTheWorld channel and vice-versa (this is just a suggestion)!! Nice review by the way.

    Hi, I'm a big fan of this channel and through basstheworld I met a fantastic bassist, Renè, with a great groove. frankly I was blown away by Gregor's words and comments on our country, which I think are really trivial and stupid.
    I hope that all this is due to a form of ignorance that did not allow Gregor to fully understand the excellence of our country.
    Cheers

    It's obvious the p bass is insanely compressed. I think that's what constitutes most of the coolness in the sound. I think you should be upfront about that. Unless these strings really just have the ability to make it sound as they're heavily compressed.

    Interesting how it takes a bass channel to review strings. As a guitarist myself, I find little heed is paid to them via most review channels. Maybe if we played with a clean tone 90% of the time, we'd care more haha

    • @Bone1996
      @Bone1996 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It probably also helps that frequently changing strings is also way more of a financial expense when it comes to bass string sets (20-30 bucks and up per set) lol

    • @Jihadbearzwithgunz
      @Jihadbearzwithgunz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also the thickness of bass strings plays more into the tone of the bass vs the guitar strings it's not quite as extreme. Say jumping from a light set 9-42 will feel different to you and sound different then a 13-50 set where as bass is more noticeable when you have a light set on it sounding tiny and thin

      Galli strings are really high level products of historic brands...like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Ducati, Aprilia, Armani, Valentino, Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti, Barolo, Barbaresco and so on. Pasta has hundreds of shapes, so...not only long and thin things 😉😉😉

    I've spent a lot of money on strings, expensive and cheap ones. The only real thing that mattered was gauge size. As far as tone, they eventually all wear out rather quickly. Flat wounds, if you're going for a certain less flashy, pronounced sound. Other than that, save your money.
