- This is just the bulk of the weight removed. We estimate another 10lbs or so can be removed from cleaning everything up. We will document once we get back on the project.

I'm suprised there are not more 3rd gens on the track. They were known for being the most aerodynamic of all cars including the Vette. For a time they were a very successful salt flats build.
Aero doesnt have as much to do with 1/4 mile times as power and traction. Weak rear axles + torque arm suspension makes for a real pain in assembly/fab plus expensive. I run hooker's true dual exhaust but man the ground clearance is awful. 3rd gens are becoming rare and valuable these days to compound the matter. IMO don't molest nice 3rd/4th gens into race cars, it costs way too much, isn't that competitive and removes nice driving cars from an already demolished pool of survivors. These used to be 'trailer trash' cars remember?
Yep, When I did Aaron's mystic camaro roof I came up with the exact same weights. 55-60# and there was still some weight to be removed...

As a 3rd gen lover myself it would be great if someone would come up with a solution for the torque arm without backhalfing the car. As far as I am aware there is only 1 good kit for the torque arm setup. The rest twist like pretzels. Thanks for the great vids. Keep it up.
I thought 93-02 were 4th gens? I have a 00 ws6, dont know much about the 93-97.
@@shaun9156 3rd gen f-bodies are 82-92. 3rd and 4th gens have the same rear suspension. I think what he's getting at is he'd like to see something different for these types of suspensions. Torque arm specific...
@@prestonedmonds4128 me too on the tq arm, all we got is the 8.8, 9in, dana60 and 12 bolt for options all can be moved off the trans tailhousing but would be cool to have like a Y tq arm mounted off the rear to the sub frame or something.
Haven’t a issue with my madman TA. Just a 5.3 on 32# of boost.. but it holds up fine. I guess if your planning on being faster than mid 8s I wouldn’t have experience there. But if your trying to go that fast… backhalf it 😂

If you plan on running the stock hatch I have my old one that's red, all the holes for the wing are filled and it has speedglass with a hole cut for the burn down tank. I also have the aftermarket gas shocks because once you remove all the weight they need to be lighter. Let me know if your interested before I list it for sale.
That'd be awesome if one of the products you're producing is a set of carbon door cards. I know I'd buy a set.
