- We ran into one of our favorite stick shift cars at World Cup Finals, Grubworm! Not only is it one of our favorites, it holds the world record for quickest stick shift car with a 6.61 at 216mph! They still ran some sixes at WCF but definitely have a couple bugs to address with their new setup. We absolutely cannot wait to see this car continue to surprise us in the world of stick shift racing!

Stick shift drag racing is one of my favorite types of drag racing. Absolutely love it
It's what I thought all drag races were when I was younger. It's still awesome with the high HP autos but lost some of it's luster in my heart 🤣

It’s literally because of Grub Worm and racers like him, that I decided to go with a straight cut/dog engagement tr6060 for my hellcat instead of a th400. I can’t wait to get it mated and hear those shift engagements. Thanks for all the awesome content!

I also chose the TR6060 from Tick Performance because of Grubworm. I was considering going with a glide but for my first drag build I decided to stay with what I know for now as I have been building and driving drift and time attack cars since 06. Built my back-halfed 300ZX in 2018 and really have done little else since lol. Got hooked.
I've got a N02 4th Gen with a TH400 that would eat that cat

The legendary Grub Worm, the 4th gen all other 4th gens look up to.
The grub worm is one of my all time favorites and the owner is just the most layed back genuine great person
They make 6's look easy. The driver always seems chill, even when they are having a bad day.

These guys are so nice and helpful. I live just 30 minutes from their shop.
I remember years ago shopping for a 4th gen for my wife, and seeing this listed on C/L when it was a mild build. I told her it was too much for her, and glad to see over the years how much it has grown. Go Grub Worm/ Tick Performance!

There is an aftermarket big bore LT1 block available now. Wonder if one will ever find its way into grub worm, would be sick to go back to a Gen 2!

That would be one hell of a race and as long as I've followed Cleetus and as big of a fan of Leroy and the FF I am, I am a 4th gen F body FIEND, I'd have to root for Grubb Worm!
He will never beat grub worm without a body on Leroy. When they took it to the wind tunnel they found that the poor aero was eating over 400 horsepower on the big end. It's even more than that now because they're running higher speeds.

It’s the fact that it’s an old school style block. Just amazing what you can do with old/new technology
Now think about this, nothing in the Import vs Domestic rules since they opened it up, that I see that says he couldn't run a 468/472 cui raised deck block and a much better head much bigger turbo. The real limiting factor is the 275 tire and I think its to keep the Imports competitive because they can run more rpm and mph faster on the big end.

Stick shift drag racing is real drag racing. back then most of the professional drag racers cars were all manual.. If it aint got a clutch, it dont got much!
There are clutches in automatics.
And the only reason most drag cars back in the day had a manual was because there was no aftermarket for automatics yet.
