dude you seriously need to post those blueprints for those carbon fiber parts !! sick car , i’ve been youtubing F-Body weight reduction videos and couldn’t find a video with nowhere near an explanation as this . Thanks for your time
Thanks, man! I have another video that is more in-depth about the weight of each item if you're interested in it. The carbon stuff was all hand made by myself, I have a few videos of those also. Again, though, I really appreciate you checking the channel out!
@@torqueracingproduction can’t wait to see it. I’ve been thinking about turboing mine too I just don’t want to cut the radiator support and move the radiator. Most the kits require that.
2:55 On lstech theres a pretty good list of parts/LBS. According to that list im minus at either 160/180lbs, but also added some of course. Mines a street car forst so def not going much fuether hahah.
@torqueracingproduction damn, you must live in a good state hahaha. Yeah, that's too far for me with deletes. I love the sound of 3k lbs though! I reallllly wanted to delete that big ass HVAC box on passenger firewall. And it's been awhile since I looked it up but I'm pretty sure if I delete that heat and air function will go with it which isnt good for me I need some heat in Oct/Nov. I can sweat out the summer months with the t tops off.😅
@@clifford_2zero7you can delete the ac and retain the heater. You have to cut an area out of it, then shape sole sheet metal and epoxy it so the air has a channel. There’s a few posts on Ls1tech how to do this.
My car is a turbo street car with a full sound system and added sound deadening, but i snagged a full carbon fiber kit for 300 bucks ( doors, hatch, fenders, quarter panels ) im torn on installing them or not. My goal is 3200 lbs . Do you think i could reach that goal? Before i go cutting into it i want to ask someone who's already torn into it
I would weigh the car now and then you can calculate an estimated weight savings for the carbon stuff to see if your close or not. There's a few weight reduction mods you can do that doesn't cut into creature comforts or looks. $300 seems suspiciously dirt cheap for even a carbon fiber hood alone, but a whole kit? That's wild. I would imagine they car 3 layers of fiberglass with 1 layer of outer carbon, which alot of companies will do to sell cheap parts.

That exhaust sound though ❤
Awesome setup.
Thank you! Many plans for better things in the future!
Still my favorite sounding car
That's awesome man, thanks! I'm hoping a tweak to the collector design and the turbo will make it just a smidgen better!

Ahh, a stand up radiator replacement isn't too bad though.
@@torqueracingproduction I know mine is just a low mileage car
@@ls1_cammeroh well that's different I suppose

I feel ya. I still street drive mine alot, but she's not a "street car" anymore

@clifford_2zero7 yea you do unfortunately lose heat.

Yea I forgot about that!
Very nice, but that was a rough description, not a list 😆
Yea...this is true. I'll try to find all the weights and make an actual list.
What was the starting weight?
3680
