British Rail 1993-Westbury & Bristol with Classes 08, 37, 47, 59 & InterCity 125 HST

It's September 1993 and i'm at Westbury. I was there to get some haulage behind 37 223 on the Weymouth to Bristol Temple Meads Regional Railways loco hauled working. At Westbury we see class 37s & 59s on freight workings with a Valenta powered Inter-City 125 plus 37 223 on passenger workings. There are a few finishing shots at Bristol with light engine moves with a 37 & 47 plus an 08 on a parcel shunt working. GUV's with corridor conections. They were converted to be newspaper sorting vans. They also had a toilet fitted in them.

One thing this very well shows is how faded and grimy Railfreight livery became after a few years - none of the paint jobs on these locos would have been any more than six years old, don't forget

Yes, i don't think they stood up to the hard grime and heavy cleaning that freight locos suffered......
