Just FYI, and just to be the resident pedant: the sword you show at 3:23, is not the Alexandria, but rather the Principe, which does use the exact same blade.😁 So it's very easy to mix those two up!
"But don’t you know, there are some things that can beat smartness and foresight? Awkwardness and stupidity can. The best swordsman in the world doesn’t need to fear the second best swordsman in the world; no, the person for him to be afraid of is some ignorant antagonist who has never had a sword in his hand before; he doesn’t do the thing he ought to do, and so the expert isn’t prepared for him; he does the thing he ought not to do: and often it catches the expert out and ends him on the spot." -- Samuel Clemens, "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court".
My friend, I approve of the name and outfit upgrade. Also super cool that you got a Viceroy! Super informative video, really enjoyed it. And that tournament cut you showed was most excellent. Was that Jack doing the parry-cut drill?
I love the idea of the half wire wrap. However, to me it seems like something that would inevitability come loose at some point and need to be repaired. That’s why I'd be reluctant to get it, even though it's hella cool!
i was under the impression Skall clipped a nail or similar while cutting into something like particle board to get that blade scalloping defect? Might have to go back and re-watch those videos as it's been a few years and I may be mistaken .
He was cutting tree branches and hit a brach with poor edge alignment which compromised the blade. Then he cold forged it back. The same area he cold forged back is where the blade chipped.
One handed swors are also very good. Like Indian Talwar perfect one handed sword very balanced and Arbaian persian shamshir too. But Japneese katana and Euro two handed sowrd also cool specially this one
Imo everyone should pick the weapon that best fits their personal fighting style, sense of aesthetics & the target/ opponent they are facing. No point in trying to make everyone like what works for me.
I would contend that standardization and training trumps personal preference. That’s why in modern militaries there is very little deviation. During the olden days many people had to provide their own equipment or take out a loan from the mercenary company or king to pay for their equipment, and so there was far less standardization then nowadays. Maybe there was more personal preference the further back you go.
Send me a video here or on Facebook and let’s see if we can help you out. I have the ringeck, which I believe is the same blade. Let’s see if we can help you out.
perfect hilt size for a hand and a half sword for citizen militias wear as secondary weapons it allows 2 handed use when the pommel is gripped and not as long as straightly 2 handed hilts which pokes out a lot when worn on the side
This was always one of the more interesting looking swords from their line. If I could find a company that offers a payment plan, or PayPal, I could pay it off in 6 months. I'd buy it with a basic scabbard if they were offered. I also like the Albion Sheriff.
The Japanese routinely cur bodies in two with tachi or katana. sometime a stack of five or six bodies. here is on in th Imperial museum with "saddle cutter: inscribed on the tang.A samurai named Kato Kiyomasu (?) cut an armored samurai in half, and the sword cut through the man ind into the saddle . And a tachi with a 26 inch to 30 inch blade is a LOT handier than than that huge sword you have.
I sure enjoy talking about our sword collections. Nice job on the tutorial.
Thanks man! Like and subscribe?

Oof. Worthy correction
Your video quality is getting better. Keep up the good work.
Awesome thanks’

Well done, I saw that rising double cut at Combatcon and it was quite impressive.
Thanks bro! You do a good job too 🙂
Oooh really nice rising double cuts there 8-)
Thanks! 😊

Maybe. The footage was a potato

Fair. That’s more of a personal preference
Did anyone else think he was going to stab his painting when showing the pommel?
I did. 😂
5:58 - the Pommel is a type U from the Oakeshott typology. You're welcome.
Thanks man!

I just played the full clip of his video. But go watch his stuff. It’s awesome

Oh

Depends on what the sword is for to make it good or bad
Fake news. Viceroy is best.

i have a Principe being crafted currently, expecting it to reach me by the time i'm 80 y/o...good thing i'm a patient man
Haha. Great cutting sword. Good choice. My best chance with Albion has always been lurking on kult of Athena or picking them up at combatcon.
@@Dangerousswordsman oh great idea combatcon I have never been
After over 2 years I received my Albion Talhoffer. Can barely cut despite razor sharpness... and then only with push pull lever technique

Yessir! Wait for the next review and I’ll talk more about it
Thanks for this cool video 😁, all that’s left to do is advertise it
You should probably put the dog away when you're swinging that thing in your yard
😆 sometimes he will collect the bottles for me and put them in my bucket. He is the goodest boy.
so hipetetically if you try to cut the zombie head with this sword...what will happen? will it bend or dent like alexandria and principe?
Send me one and I’ll test it. My guess is probably not. The alexandria is super thin.
I also own this sword, completely different tip shape
I love how each Albion is unique, but the same sword.
I’ve been looking at the viceroy.. didn’t realize you hade one… very pretty sword
I love it!
@@Dangerousswordsman Also been looking at the Sempach...
Very happy to see you put the Viceroy to good use :-)
The legend himself comments! Very happy to have it! Hopefully we can find a way to do some more reviews for you soon!

Kult of Athena runs a payment plan for this bad boy. Andy sunda on Facebook would make a good scabbard. Watch for the next review to see it.
I love your shoes, where I can get one like yours? :D
I bought mine on Amazon! MSG me and I’ll send you a link.
@@Dangerousswordsman thx, also great video 😃
I love it when you dress like Kylo Ren. And use his voice.
That’s just how I talk 😆
You'll have somebody's eye out with that!
I am the most dangerous

Sounds like some massive copium. Have you ever cut with a sword?
Sorry, my Munich and my gold medal winning A Trim are the best swords 😎
Fake news 😝
Clean peens and fat ricassos … alright 😅
You know it
At this point anything not made from "Shock Steel" is a decoration.
What even is that?
Nothing made by albion is a "decoration". They are by far the best production European swords in the world.
