In my fervent imagination i pictured the story behind this gift, the owner had this sword on display in his home, but it wasn't safely out of the reach of children, so one day his littlke kid took the sword to play with it, his wife witnessed it, and got mad at the guy for not having stored the sword correctly, and so she ordered him to get rid of it, or else, and so he gave it to Skall.

A student of mine gifted me an Albion blade from the museum line. It is a humbling feeling.
I can only imagine... Those swords are almost unreasonably expensive.
Some say Sir Bedwyr was too grieved to throw the sword into the lake, knowing it would result in the king's death. The story goes that, unable to kill his king, he bore the burden of immortality bestowed by the sacred sword, and wandered for hundreds of years in search of his missing king, finally running out of strength in Avalon. Then, for nothing more than the entertainment value, the mage Merlin granted him his dying wish, and left him this one decree:
"Your king is long lost to us, Bedwyr. However, there exists a man equally deserving of this sword. You must venture forth into a time far from your own, seek out this man, and pass on the blade, for it is he who will lead Britain to prosperity in the absence of Artorius. Will you do it?"
Sir Bedwyr, lacking all hesitation, nodded.
Years turned to decades, and decades into centuries, as with his final breaths, Sir Bedwyr scoured the world, in search of the one chosen by Merlin to lead Britain. He crossed oceans vast, climbed mountains steep, chased rumors loose, but all efforts came fruitless. He soon found himself far from home, further north and towards the western horizon. It was there that, after lifetimes of searching, he found him.

As far as I know he does
He's also Scandinavian by birth, and all Nordic languages are Germanic in orgin except for Finnish and Sapmi.
Which means it's far easier to learn German well than for example French or Portugese.
I've always thought that Cara might be German due to her accent, so maybe Skall learned some. Pure speculation though, maybe he took German in school or he's just very good at picking up languages. :)

The comparison is a bit lacking as this is a two handet Longsword while the Katana is more of a one-and- a-half hander and is quite a bit shorter. A Tachi would be amore apt equivalent.

@@geyotepilkington2892 He's had to sell some of his collection in the past because he's got bills to pay, and he has to facilitate new content so when he sells his stuff to go towards buying new stuff for more content and to pay his bills (second part not too sure but it would make sense). Stuff like this probably would be on the last of things he'd sell though, because it's a gift for one thing and it's something that he's wanted for a while.
