UPDATE: followed your tutorial and my footage ROCKED. Interestingly the DJI Air 2S can't record in active track at 60fps. However I'm mega stoked with the results. Many many thanks
I loved the tutorial . I have this drone and haven't used all these features yet, Totally unrelated comment , I live in NY and loved your house and the land. We live in a suburb of New York ( Yonkers ) and every day , we wake up to news of random shootings in NYC and all sorts of crime. I showed my wife the video of your home and Told her " This is the way to live "
Thanks man! I moved here from New Orleans because I felt the same way you did. Its nice to have a little extra land and space for my personal head space.
i used to do those kind of shots manually just recently i started LEARNING about active track, POI and spotlight i might use them from now on i just hope i dont loose my talent becoming more reliant on them
@@jeremydeihl quite confused at first because i assume to use active track only for moving objects.. so when i read active track and real estate it makes me curious..😁👍🏻
Thanks for another great video. I use the spotlight and POI regularly, but loved how you did that move where you pulled back and up from the side view. I used it this morning when shooting a community video. Going to implement it with my listings now too.
@@jeremydeihl no problem at all, your content helps out. I’m always stoked whenever I see a new one of your videos. There’s not many people who put out useful information or even respond to comments… you’re a true professional. Thanks again…
Nice video, you have a new subscriber...... One tiny thing....those sideways moves using the obstacle avoidance were risky as it doesn't have side sensors.... But it made it, so all good. 👌🏾👍🏾🤝🏾😎 What a picturesque setting!
Thanks for watching and as always I appreciate the sub! I have noticed that even though there are no side sensors, if you move in an angular pattern it trust using the the top sensor so I had it stop before I ran into one of the trees one time, though I agree it's probably not the smartest move haha
Enjoyed your explanation using the spotlight mode, it gives me the chance not to veer off while filming, it keeps me on target while using my sticks in manual control viewing the surroundings at the same time. Thanks Jeremy.K⚓️
This video is a game changer for me. Thanks for sharing. You brought me one step closer to buying the 2S and Real Estate Drone photography. I hope it is one of your affiliate links. Thanks again.
Nice feature and good video to show how it works. I am still using a Phantom 4Pro V2; do you think that I should change it for this new one, now that it has a better camera? Thanks,
That's a great question because you are flying the same drone I was flying before I got this one. I flew the mavic 2pro and though it was better than the pro v2 it only felt marginally better and not worth spending all that money on the upgrade. This feels like a solid upgrade and it's so much cheaper than the Mavic Pro2 that it was worth it for me to try. Needless to say that P4Pv2 is now my backup drone haha
Good video, I always try to do these types of shots manually though as for having the skill to do it manually is always a good thing to have, the tracking is good however, I feel as though a steady hand is even better
Having a good steady hand when flying is always preferred, especially considering you can't use the tracking features for the 5.3k shooting which is the majority of what I shoot in these days
How is the photo quality on these vrs the pro for real estate? I have an Air but I know it isn't quite up to snuff to be able to pull off professional quality? Great demonstration!!
I cant say how it stacks up against every pro version, but I know the images it takes are pretty much even with the Mavic 2pro and they are far superior to the images my Phantom 4 Pro produces :) Hope this helps!
@@jeremydeihl that is good to know. The Mavic Pro was the one I was referring to as it seems to be other "go to" for DJI at the moment. This Air 2S sure looks sweet.
u were lucky with the obstacle avoidance - it doenst work if u fly sideways... as it has no sensors on the side. be aware of that ;-) enjoy & have fun, greets from europe
I am confused as I saw on every shot from the screen recorder that SPOTLIGHT was in yellow which I thought was the mode in use but you said it was ACTIVE TRACK? ACTIVE TRACK was on the left of the 3 moded and POI on the right. Love the space around your house......dont get that in the UK!
Hey there Roy, back when I made this all of the three options of active track, spotlight, and whatever the third one is(I can not remember off the top of my head) all nested under the active track option, with active track being the native selection when you went into that mode. It has since changed around and the entire category is called something else and I never made an updated thumbnail for it, but I think I remember to change the actual title 🤣
@@jeremydeihl yes I get it but rookies like me actually rely on pros like you to get it spot on (excuse the pun) because we are trying to learn so if the vid is inaccurate we get confused. Still I made my 1st experiment using Air2s and Spotlight with great success, learned a couple of lessons and tomorrow I'll do the same vid but a2s will be lower (twas over my head today) I WONT walk under the wisteria and I'll add some commentary... experiment 2!
Nice video but I can see props in one part. Air 2S has this issue whereas the Air2 does not, wonder why DJI messed up on this version. Good example of active track though.
I talk about the props showing in the video. It's because I have the drone set to prefer obstacle avoidance over everything else so when it is auto flying it does not smash into stuff haha. More than willing to crop out the 3sec of prop footage in my final videos. Hopefully this is a problem they remedy I'm a future update
Yes.. I saw an easy work around on youtube. Guy changed one thing then couldn't recreate the prop issue even if trying. I dont have a 2s so I cant quite remember how he did it. But it was just minor settings adjustment.
That is correct. When the drone was first released all three options were under the active track selection folder, but since the second update they renamed it so Active Track and Spotlight are two of the three options under the renamed selection folder.
Thanks man, I appreciate it! I'm also pretty stoked to see how the mini 3 stacks up because the mini 2 video quality is sub-par for my professional work
Yea. We would like to see similar offerings from the bigger drones in sub 250g package. The legislation is not so bad for this weight category in most of Europe.
I like using the spotlight active track feature. See some of my videos if you’re interested. Some nice fly fishing shots with spotlight enabled. Thanks. 👍🏼
Jeremy - It didn't work m8! You said look how it keeps the house in the centre of the frame, when it didn't! Also, you're still not mentioning the very choppy video footage you're getting, which IMO is unusable.
I'm not quite sure what your issue seems to be with the videos produced by the Air 2s, but after literally 10,000+ views and all the comments on both these videos you seem to be bringing up an issue that not a single other person has seen/can see. You are the only person who has mentioned anything about the footage being "choppy." My recommendation simply don't buy the air 2s because your superhuman vision is too strong for it's sensors abilities 🤣 obviously you're working with the ability to see what others can not. Can you see into the future too? If so what are next week's lottery numbers? 😂 But seriously I have not heard a single other person mention the choppy video issues you bring up so maybe it's a connection issue on your end? I can only assume as much since you are the only one saying this about the Air 2s footage
no its not that simple iv almost lost mine over 10 times now as it crashed into things and it wasnt my fault, if ur gunna put out a video at least put the bad things active tack does aswell as the good things
Sorry you have had that experience with yours, but that has not been my experience at all. I use the master shots quite literally every day and it has never crashed into anything. As a matter of fact, multiple times a week I have my drone stop mid-flight because it thinks something is near it when nothing is there. I speak about it in the video, but you can set your drone to care more about obstacle avoidance than it does the actual video clip it creates. I have gotten a lot of flack on this video alone for keeping my drone in the safe flying mode with literally 30 comments about people being mad they can see my props in the shot for 2secs. Well it's because I care more about the safety of the flight over getting the perfect shot instantly. Maybe this is a setting you should change as well? I also hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you are the one on the sticks then you are held accountable for any actions taken by your drone. It's your responsibility before pressing start to make sure nothing in its flight plan will obstruct it. Once again I'm sorry you seem to have negative interactions with your master shots, but I have never once had the issue you describe. It's possible you have a faulty unit or an older drone flying an older version? Honestly I would contact DJI ASAP with the issues you are having because it seems out of character for the Air 2s from my own personal experience.
@@jeremydeihl well your experiance is not shared by everyone as i have looked futher into it and im not the only one with this common issue with the s version
