Here it is the middle of 2024 and I finally got my Air 2S. Thank you for your video. It has been a great help in getting me proficient with my New Drone. My son let me use his Mini (1) for a month or so and I loved it. Decided to buy a Mini-2 when they were on sale. My son bought an A 2S at the same time. He was doing some work that was easier and better with the Air 2S. I'm a grandpa and the eyes aren't what as good as they once were. I loved the mini 2 but had trouble keeping track of it once it to 200-300 feet away from me. It is easier to keep the Air 2S plus I love the extra features. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for the video, i am thinking of buying the dji air 2s for my first "professional" drone so that helps. I got in to the Drone world with the syma drone that you recommended and it was really good. Ready set drone is one of the few channels i trust, so this video means a lot to me. Thanks Again!!!
Great video, thank you! I just got this drone and it’s my first one. Knowing all of these tips (ie how to switch to manual video settings, knowing that default photo mode is jpeg only and 16:9) and how to change those settings is so helpful for me to get up and running. Without it I’d probably learn one of those things on each job that I use it for
You WILL need the larger SD card. This beast takes massive photos and videos. I had a two minute video that was close to 4GB. I wish there was a way to shoot just RAW and not RAW+JPEG. The duplicate photos just take up space.
Wow, Kelly i can't say "Thank You" enough..This was so Helpful for me and i learned some things i didn't know... This gave me a leg up and i Appreciate it very much... Okay i am out the door to fly with a few more changes thanks to you and this Video..#KeepFlyin & #StayUp
Some very useful tips here, Kelly. Especially the slider for the EV. Was not aware of that. I have been utilizing the features of the "Pro" mode quite a bit. Makes for a much more light-stable video.
ND filters certainly reduce the amount of light that comes onto the sensor, as you say. But, they don't have any bearing on definition (as you also say) because the aperture is fixed and therefore only the shutter speed is being reduced and the quality of the light is not affected. They ONLY reduce light and, as a result, slow down shutter speeds - and protect the lens from dust and scratches. If you want to improve definition, polarizing filters will help.

@@readysetdrone ok. I guess email is a no go so I will try here. I have the Tinkhawk 2 freestyle and the FrSky X9 lite. I followed your video on how to bind them and all went exactly as your video says it would. It shows on Betaflight that they are bound but the motors don't fire. On Betaflight it shows the arm switch is doing something but no motors. Any ideas as what I could try? Thanks
Hey Jim - I didn't see an email, but, but I can offer some suggestions based on your description. First, I don't know how familiar you are with Betaflight, so forgive me if some of this seems too obvious. So you said it is bound. When you go to the "receiver" tab in Betaflight, does what you think is the "arm" switch move the bar/graphic? If so, then you need to go to "modes" and make sure the switch you want to use to arm the quad is set to the correct AUX and then make sure that one position is "in range" on the slider (armed) and one position of the button is "out of range" (disarmed). The "modes" tab is really the most important part of setting up Betaflight. Please LMK if this info is helpful.
With drones (vs handheld cameras), I can't imagine a scenario where I'd need Jpeg-only. I'd always use Raw/dng. I'd only use JPEG with a handheld camera if I'm on an assignment with the media where sharing images are a "time is of the essence" like breaking news or whatnot. Otherwise, I'll always want to be able to edit video or images, even before sharing on social media.

It's a shame the wide angle Pano ability is flawed by the rotation it builds into the .dng files. The .jpg in-drone version turns out ok, but if you want the .dng's to process... tough! ...unless you want a strongly curved horizon.
Good information and helpful tips for the Air2s, but for me it is to expensive. Have fun. Last time I lost a tello in a tree in a very high level. :-( Bye Bye
@@readysetdrone Hi. I believe you’re correct. I have an old SD card, as in 4 years old, from my Zoom. Would do you recommend I buy please. Thanks for the reply.
You referred to "60 fps" as a shutter speed. That's incorrect. That's the speed at which the drone is recording the video. The shutter speed of the camera is a separate thing. That's why lots of pros recommend setting the shutter speed to the inverse of double the fps and using an ND filter to lower the light intake -- as in if you want 30 fps footage, you use 1/60 shutter speed. If these numbers aren't multiples, you might end up with jittery footage or weird artifacts caused by the two speeds not meshing well.
4:05 but only in auto mode (not pro) so pretty useless :( Also, ND filters don’t give more definition and are no use for still photography unless you want an effect (ND1000 for example).
No, no, no! Nerve delete your RAW files! Those are your digital negatives. If you need the space, dump the JPEGS. In fact, I wish there was a setting for RAW only.
I understand your sentiment but I prefer to have both and I never delete my RAW or JPEG originals. I name them in such a way that they are easy to organize and the edited versions are right there. Space? In today's world I just buy another 8TB drive. :-)
Well, not sure why everybody explains reason for DJI supplying set of ND filters as "...to get that natural blur...". Yes, they slow down your frame rate - but that is not the reason you got ND filters as part of your package. DJI gave you these filters bcs they put in a fixed f2.8 lens. With such a fast lens, half of the people around the world would get overexposed footage. People would complain and start returning their drones back to their dealers as a poorly developed, unusable product. Thus ND filters. DJI puts in f2.8 fixed focal length lens - even though multi focal lenses are inexpensive technology and cost literally few dollars extra. That's why DJI threw in set of ND filters for "free" and in all of their promo videos they say "... hey, we are including ND filters so you get that cinematic motion blur..." Duh. Go figure.....
Hello thank you for your very useful recommandation. The cameras are different, so the filters are not cross compatible.
