Thank you for the great response. You have no idea what it took to work out our methods and format. It's very gratifying to hear good positive responses.

I'm a girl and I have a lot of people ask me how I can ride such a tall, heavy bike. You're absolutely right, its NOT heavy. Tall? Yes, but so am I. I absolutely LOVE my '06 XB12X. I have a stable full of HDs & other bikes, but I sure enjoy riding "Buelly".
Nice review, by the way. I like your narrative while riding. Well done.

Excellent review! This certainly helps one in making a buying decision when looking at a bike. I appreciate your mentioning the changes made on the newer model--by giving both specs (old and new). Also, I don't mind sitting through your short sponsorship acknowledgments. Great work once again!

I have an 07 and can honestly say it is one of the best all around bikes you can buy. It is more comfortable than my electra glide, and it has excellent power.

First of all, these are very high quality TH-cam videos for their time!
Second, it really is a shame that they just couldn't get more potential customers on these bikes - one thing that you realize when you actually watch and read reviews, impressions, 'first rides', etc. is that ANYONE who climbed onto a Buell XB LOVED actually *riding them* and all of the irrelevant BS about HP vs displacement, air cooled instead of liquid cooled(even though there's many other air cooled bikes that are fawned over - and part of what makes the XBs exceptional is their very light weight?), belt vs chain, muffler location(...seriously? You just have to have it sticking in the air like a chrome hard-on?), etc. all of the keyboard warrior dick measuring bullshit goes away.
What more do you actually want from a bike than to make you love riding it(while having unmatched maintenance requirements)? Do you just have to have those numbers for your ego so you can sleep at night?
For all of the mocking of cruisers and their 'nonexistent' cornering abilities(...but have you watched a motorcycle rodeo though?) that the sport bike crowd does - they sure don't seem all that interested in cornering when one of the best handling bikes ever gets continually overlooked; and overweight top fuel dump trucks, like the Hayabusa are put on a pedestal.

Agreed, but to get people on Buells meant walking into a HD dealer, who wanted to sell you overweight and overpriced cruisers loaded with chrome. That alone pretty much doomed them.

The old one revved higher than 5800 rpm. I have a 2006 XB12X. Superb, underrated bike. Lightest in its class.
The Hepco & Becker Gobi bags look better and fit the Ulysses frames. I'd rather do without them. The Triple Tail/backrest is useful for fitting a Ventura bike pack over without the ugly frame they supply.
    The usual professional review.

Things were different back when this was filmed. Engine guards weren't as common.

I have one, and it "vibrates" way less than the CBR900RR I formerly had. In fact I don't think the Buell vibrates at all at speed, just a pleasant chug/shake at lower RPMs.

mvrtvcom, thanks for the good review. Are there any options to make the seat fit short riders?

@mvrtvcom Is 2008 the year when they changed the tires on that bike and put Pirellis, instead of Dunlops I think? I don't think you mentioned it. Better grip, specially off road, no? It's a beautiful and original bike and I don't understand why the company went under.

@chef77able Thank you, thank you, thank you! Lots of dirt - F800GS, lots of street - R1200GS! Watch for up coming full movie post which shows both of these off-road in the So Cal Desert. Maybe in the next few weeks, spread the word. Bill MVR

@machintruc313 Yes, I believe this bike had P tires. This bike is still a specialty item, not a lot of power, not quick, vibrates like a Harley. Still has one of the best seats in the industry and maybe the best suspension on the street of nearly any bike. MVR
