Great review. I have a Panigale S - so always get nervous when a new 'rival' is tested up against it. But I always had a soft spot for Buells: just loved the attitude and ingenuity. This is an excellent first crack, so I'd definitely start to get nervous when they bring out the 1190RRX, or 1190RXR, or whatever they call the next version! Whatever keeps Duke on their toes is alright with me (though I won't be thinking about changing mine any time soon!) ;)
Keep up the fantastic reviews. I watch a LOT of vid reviews and you guys are THE BEST bar none! I rarely comment on these but my all time favourite remains the multistrada. What a whoot!
I was so angry when I have heard that H-D shut Buell down I swore I will never buy a H-D ever. After my XB 12 R I bought a ZX 10 R But you are right it might have been for the better. This Bike is ace Go Eric
Buell has his work cut out for him. The super bike segment is ultra competitive and the Japanese motorcycles have dominated sport bikes for years. Still, it would be nice to see Buell succeed. Potential investors in Buell will want to see a viable path for profits before they expend capitol and this is where Buell may have some problems. We will have to wait and see what the future brings for Buell but I wish him the best.
My wife never pays attention to my motorcycle videos unless Loz Blain is commenting, refreshingly hilarious and witty comments Loz! She was crying she was laughing so hard ... and she's French!

Funny thing about the Xb bikes is that the engine shared almost no parts with the sportster engine. They used very few parts from the sportster engine and were designed for performance, and they were very reliable. I am not sure why you didn't mention the 1125r but oh well, what's done is done.
Lovely motorcycle review. I was also quite surprised about the clutch pull when I test rode the SX version yesterday. It has that nice upright position for around town, but as mentioned, the gearing is really not made for commuting, but for blasting through the mountains or the around the track.
@@davecity23 , hey, I'm an old guy with small hands! Not to mention having to deal with the riding position! I feel it in my wrists, elbows and neck. Luckily the 1125 is not like a 1993 GSXR or 996 Duck, trust me.
To damn bad this company no longer exist:( Also thanks guys, a lot of the stuff on TH-cam when it comes to bikes is stupid ride videos (even tho it says its review). This feels like a real proper review video of the likes of Motor Trend, EVO, Auto Express etc etc.
Casual, I'm making it my personal crusade to tell all those posers with their stupid "first ride reviews" if they can't do a proper review then shut down their channel.
great review and a suprisingly noce bike , good to see the americans finaly have something not developed in the 50's . and very good explatnation on torque and power , many dont understand shit bout that
I liked the underslung exhaust alot more than this side exhaust and the shorter wheelbase aswell probably. But well Buell can't be as....weird as a brand new company now right? I mean the fuel in the frame still is a kinda sketchy to me but I think they know what they are doing when they charge pretty big moneys for a bike. The headlights they use are pretty cool though.
Buell is coming back, have your heard any inside info when they are starting up production again? I love my 02 Cyclone but I have to hold out until Buell produces another Ulysses style bike. At 47 my wrists can't take the lean angle.
+William Hugelmeyer They started production this week. The 1st customer bike rolled off the assembly line yesterday. I'll upload a video about this on Wednesday. The 1190RX is an awesome bike!
I'm hearing things are stirring over at Eric buell's place.....production starting again in March!........... I hope so because this is one bike that I really wanted to ride and I was really saddened last year when Hero pulled the plug on them.
+splintergg Pulling the plug sounds a bit like removing something that is dying from life support, which is inaccurate. Hero had been using EBR's engineering team without paying them and simply wanted to send the company into bankruptcy so they could get out of paying EBR and possibly also allow for a cheap buyout. It wasn't a pull the plug situation, it was a dick move.
I had to stop when the complaints started that it was almost unridable around town. Here is another 'news' flash, it's probably not a good choice when buying something to tow the boat with.
There are some SERIOUSLY good deals to be had on this $19k msrp motorcycle now that ebr is dead. By that I mean $10-$11k brand new, if you know where to look. Bad news for anyone who paid full price for one. At least until they're hard to find. Then maybe they'll go up again!
What a beautiful bike! What a terrible ending! Thought Hero Motocorp would do justice. But no. Its been terrible in handling things after it parted way with Honda.
By unremarkable he didn't mean it isn't fun or good. He meant that it doesn't have the weird quirks that bikes from small manufacturers have. It was most probably a compliment that was supposed to show that this thing has the design and build quality of much more commercial superbikes
thra5herxb12s even if its sections welded together then its still monocoque, welds are permant and cant be unbolted. where does it state monocoque cant be peices welded together?
Monocoque means one piece not lots of pieces joined together thats like saying a tube frame is monocoque because it's welded not bolted. I dont make the rules thats just what monocoque is. Look in the dictionary.
+thra5herxb12s ummm...what dictionary do you use?? a carbon monocoque chassis in say, a formula 1 car lemans prototype, mclaren p1, ferrari...whatever.. is not made from one single solid piece of carbon fiber formed to make a monocoque tub. its made from many many smaller sections and layers fused into one. same applies with an aluminum monocoque tub car. like a lotus for example. many small pieces of aluminum put into a jig, welded together, to form a monocoque tub. same thing applies for metal or carbon, car or motorcycle. its a monocoque in principal. no one calls a tube frame a monocoque. a tube frame chassis is called a space frame technically.
;Sir ,well bike.its side fairing cowlings are well good look.,we think its back seat tail panel is small and geometric desing ,also tank covered black cover it is large geometric desing panel.it must change to two or three partition .or change medium in curve and informality desing .it not any new genaration looking .
I like the EBR, good job. But realy, when we tested it on the dyno (EBR 1190 and Ducati 1190s) the ducati delivers 10hp more and 6Nm less. But the big differance is the weight. The ducati is 190kg with fuel, the EBR is 207 with fuel. I think that makes the biggest differance. And the ducati pulls the front wheel up in the first 3 gears pure on power, the EBR not. I think when you test it, on a speed trap, with the same test rider, the ducati is faster. But I have to say, the EBR is better for your wallet ;)
+Martin Sage the clutch is hydraulic and vacum assisted i own one and idk what he was talking about the clucth is verry easy to pull my gf has no problum with it
+Vincent Krajewski Is it possible that the model reviewed here was different than yours? Also did you own any older buell bikes like the XB's? My xb feels like a heavy clutch to me(at least compared to limited other bikes i've ridden) and I"m wondering if this one is more or less heavy.

You're doing some great stuff yourself man - Melbourne crew representin'!

Is Gizmag still running reviews these days? I’ve enjoyed watching all of your stuff 👍
Kind of funny how gizmag blows all the dedicated motorcycle review channels on TH-cam out of the water. MCN, I'm looking at you.
Thank you for explaining how the EBR makes more power than the Ducati in the midrange.
