The lunar crown feels like the polar opposite to the nightmare skull the fuelweaver drops in the depths. As if instead of be ridding sanity for immunity of nightmares. You are given enlightenment and assistance from the jestalts.
Haven't played the beta myself, but doesn't your night get stuck in a full moon cycle by building all the altars? If so, it would be much harder to get them to fight, since you'd have to wait for a new moon to summon them, then while dodging them activate the altars and build the experiment to summon the celestial champion without letting them despawn.

They never release an animation for a content update when said content is still in Beta. We will get one next month when it actually releases I'm sure.
Huh, kinda like the aporkalypse. Completely in control by the player, related to a form of magic (shadow and celestial), changes the moon, related to a boss mob, maybe wagstaff isn't the only hamlet-related canon lore.
The way I see it is that Charlie has shaped out to be the one harnessing and studying the shadows, and wagstaff... he is the one studying the moon and the light. Just like the two priests depicted
Ooh, boy, it’s kicking off. Or, perhaps, wrapping up. I like how Wagstaff is involved as an NPC. He’s a nice lore piece. Also, that final form of the champion looks vaguely moth like, which is a nice touch.
Just about when beard has nothing left to make a guide on he would have no choice but to make a wall guide, and then an update drops so he has another month to stall for a wall guide.
That crown fits so well. I love it. Plus, once you're at that stage in a multiplayer world it shouldn't be that hard to respawn the boss and fight it again. Given the 12 or so people you play with, this fight should be over in seconds if everyone does their part and doesn't run away scared. I'm kinda hoping that there's gonna be as you said in your comment, more progressive updates to the final release and with said releases maybe there will be a new end-game weapon. Because we now have the bone armor with temporary invincibility, a celestial crown which provides infinite light and sanity due to being unbreakable, now all that's left is a weapon that acts like the walking cane to give you that 10% speed boost, but also does about the same damage as a spear. Or maybe like an "Eclipse Staff" which has infinite durability but gets stronger based on the moon cycle or time towards dusk/night. Meaning during the day it does little to nothing (probably walking cane damage) but at new moon levels it does spear damage, half moon levels it does ham bat, and full moon/continuous full moon it does the damage that of a thulecite club. But of course having it constantly be the full moon means lunar storms, gestalts, and probably a lot more dangers around, so no matter where your base is, you might have an amazing, unbreakable weapon, but the forces of nature you're soon to face are nigh immortal and can now do damage to you. So good luck actually using that weapon on anything lunar related aside from the boss xD
As a begginer at the game, I find it really interesting how the game works, and I also feel like I'm never gonna play this part of the game, due to how complicate the game is from the beggining, omg, it is still fun to watch tho.
Update looks amazing and the crown definitely feels like a good end game reward. It doesn’t look like it had durability? No durability, infinite light and a sanity Regen plus damage to help when fighting? Gimme gimme!
I think only some gestalts cause damage. The normal ones (that form into a little face when they hit you) make you sleep, but the special ones (forms into a little fanged maw) are the ones that damage you.
Just a theory but what if Wagstaff is in some way linked with or responsible for the darkness, either through possession or maybe he found so ancient literature/artifacts and summoned them? When you think back Wagstaff created a portal to the Constant. We never saw him being pulled in so he could have entered by choice. Wagstaff created the Vox radio which has drawn many into the Constant. And in this latest play through he is seen to work towards helping the player summing the lunar boss and after defeat he turns up to take something. What is he up to? Could he be working with or responsible for the darkness?
i noticed each phase is for each lunar altar, the original altar is the first phase, the tribute is the second one, and the sanctum is the third THAT IS SO COOL
Kind of seemed easy, one way to make it cooler in my opinion is to have the lunar storms get closer with each phase. With the finals phase being fully in the storm.
Yeah, the boss was WAY easier than I expected. Every fight you saw was my first encounter and I got through the entire thing in one go. Still, it was fun and very cool!
They should make it so who ever is wearing the crown should have a higher chance of being targeted by shadow monsters then any other players around (If it already doesn't).
My biggest hope for the update is more unique gimmick items. I don't care if there super useful (not saying that badass hat isn't) I just want some cool crap I can mess around with.

i hope they make them a little more difficult to defeat and i hope they get another drop. when ancient fuelweaver was in beta he only dropped the bone armor and not the helm. i hope they have another end game item. maybe an upgraded version of the strident trident that would work on land or something? or maybe an armored chestpiece that let you socket an amulet and backpack so that you can have extra equipment slots? maybe a recipe for a glass amulet? theres so much cool shit they could do

Hey Beard, I just want to let you know that I started a New World and spawned without the Crabking. And I've been having the Crabking to spawn by setting him to "More". And he hasn't spawned at all. What can I do to have him spawn? I've tried getting rid of Sea Stacks. And he still didn't spawn. I'm having trouble with the Crabking.

I flipped out when I saw Wagstaff there, it would be cool if he had special dialogue towards certain characters like to WX-78 and to Winona since they both know who he is and other lines towards each individual Survivor
The rewards seems under whelming for everything that we have to go through to get to this point also we're still left unclear on many things I hope that they fully flesh out all this lunar related stuff better in the future

If you fight charlie i feel like you would just be banishing her shadow form with gestalts

you can bundle up wagstaffs tools to keep them. new ones will appear too so you can also finnish the even5
I wouldn't count on that being a thing to do once the update is fulling out. They aren't actually "real" if you know what I mean.

Well the Reap what you sow update was in beta in November and released in December (a month later) and it's April so this update may release in May.
well, it was the end of november.
so maybe we'll get it by the end of april.

Elightment crown could change sanity to elightment when character wear it :)
