- Welcome to another Don't Starve Together guide! Today I want to show you all the best uses for the Enlightened Crown, the newest item dropped from the Celestial Champion as of the Eye of the Storm update. This item comes at the tail end of an extremely long gameplay progression, and it provides a ton of late-game benefit to a player who manages to complete the entire Return of Them story arc. So let's talk about all of the best uses of the Enlightened Crown in Don't Starve Together!

From 2019-2021, Klei has released a series of game updates available to all players, under the single thematic focus entitled “Return of Them."
"Eye of the Storm" is the final installment in this series of updates and adds the Moonstorm event, a surprise NPC character, and the Celestial Champion to the game. This will complete the Mysterious Energy quest which begins with the discovery of the lunar island and completion of all three celestial altars. It is the longest endgame quest in the game and offers a number of unique benefits to your world and character, such as infinite full moon nights, renewable moon glass, and infinite light in the form of a crown and shards.
"Reap What You Sow" is the seventh major release of updates under the Return of Them in Don't Starve Together and replaces traditional farms with a completely revamped farming system which includes tillable farm plots, unique farming equipment, crop displays, and numerous fertilizers. The system is considerably more complex but provides a system for year-round farming and the potential for highly-accelerated crop production.
Forgotten Knowledge is the sixth major release of updates under the Return of Them theme and adds two new cave biomes: the Lunar Grotto and the Ancient Archives. It also adds several new mobs, three new crockpot recipes, and two crafting stations including another moon altar and a station for crafting natural turf.
Troubled Waters, the fifth Don't Starve Return of Them update, added new ocean mobs, foods, craftables, structures, and eight new crockpot recipes. It also added leafy meat as a crockpot ingredient and renewable volt goat herds.
She Sells Seashells went live in April 2020. An Island fragment of the moon has left a lonely creature stranded. Is it friendly? Time will tell. New features include messages in bottles, the moon fragment island, the Crabby Hermit, Crab King, new seasonal fish, the Wobster and Wobster Den the Winch Boat structure, sunken treasures, and singing shells.
Hook, Line, & Inker is the the big Return of Them fishing update. We finally have the tools we need to go sailing and fish around literally anywhere in the ocean. This update added over a dozen new ocean mobs, three new crockpot recipes, and tons of new craftable items and structures. Most of these new additions are tailored toward the goal of dramatically expanding the fishing experience in DST.
Charlie’s machinations have come to a head as she turns her attention towards the skies - and the mysterious entity that awaits there. Our Survivors will be forced to contend with terrifying monstrosities beyond their comprehension, and yet, there may be a silver lining: their minds and horizons will be expanded under the sublime light of an ancient moon.
Here is an overview of what was added in the first update, "Turn of Tides:"
Added a new multiplayer-centric boat mechanic, where players can build and deck out a boat for multiple survivors to travel together on
Added a new Seafaring crafting menu
Added the Lunar Island
Added Enlightenment
Added 3 new Lunar Island biomes, along with new creatures, objects, and craftables
Turn of Tides focused primarily on building the fundamental tech and infrastructure for Return of Them. Since then a significant amount of content has added to both the islands and the sea.
Don't Starve Together is the standalone multiplayer expansion of the uncompromising wilderness survival game, Don't Starve. Now including Reign of Giants; adding new characters, seasons, creatures, biomes, and Giant new challenges to Don’t Starve Together. Cooperate with your friends in a private game, or take your chances with strangers online. Work with other players to survive the harsh environment, or strike out on your own. The problem with that is you can only catch Sunfish in summer and Ice Breams in winter. 4 days will not last you through two seasons (assuming you catch them at the end of the season).
You can store fish forever in a tin fishin' bin! Three of each fish are more than enough for Wurt, just keep swapping them out.

My favourite use for the crown probably is the infinite durability since I wear my tam all the time for the sanity, it’s nice to have one less thing to repair with the sowing kit even if the tam has a lot of durability

The lack of spoiling works for any item you can put in a lamp, so you can store glow berries in them and have them available without the annoyance of opening a bundle for it, which i find tedious. But all in all, I think it's still slightly underpowered for what you do for it. Considering if you're fighting in the dark with only your crown on, you have no choice that you lose sanity and your light goes out. Sure, you can have a backup lamp, but come on, this is the reward for a long tedious quest. I think at the least, if you're below the sanity threshold it should emit enough light to keep you from dying in the dark, like, just the amount of light one of the shards emit when they're sitting on the ground.
So you can store light bulbs/glowberries in there with a shard? That's a neat little trick.
@@JazzysGames Yep! I've had my glow berries in my lamps for a couple years now and they've remained at full spoilage.
its funny, i have 1000+ hrs in dont starve, and never felt the need to go fight any of these crazy bosses like toadstool/fuelweaver and other late game ones. but now that i know i can have infinite light, im about to learn all the fights solely for base building
I would've never noticed that 1 moon shard maxes out a glowcap. This is amazing!

I think Wanda is the best use for this item as when she is above 65 age she doesn't get negative sanity from night armour or dark swords
Even with the crown shards giving infinite light, repeating that quest is still a massive and unfun grind.
Having to redo the moonstorm countless times, mining more shards, catching more moongleams.
All super repetetive and annoying for something that isn't really too OP- that is infinite mushlight and glowcaps.
We know Hamlet gives it to us for almost free with no problem, as light isnt a problem for most players and it never was. Its ridiculous how grindy that same process is in DST
I'm pretty sure infinite light is something hardcore/'pro' players have been looking for do decorate their mega bases, have, well, infinite light. If you farm enlightened crowns for the shards as a 'pro' player, and have enough to cover an ENTIRE base, or just a lot of mushlights, that be a big flex that they would have. It would be a grind for a nice addition. But then again, you are right about it being very, VERY hard to get enough shards, so i feel like most people who would do it would be the yters
Yeah, it would be nice if summoning the champion was significantly easier the next time around. Only the fuelweaver and crab king come anywhere near in complexity to summon, but it's far, far from as difficult.
Not to mention magiluminescence gives infinate light anyway
@@salsalvador3354 At the cost of nightmare fuel and sacrificing your backpack slot. Just use a Miner Hat or Enlightened crown
@@smoczy5828 if your using magiluminescence in a boss fight you have no reason to have a backpack instead, also nightmare fuel is rather easy to get lol

I like using the shards of the crown to line lunar themed builds with them like little gems, and the fact that spores change its look makes it so I can have emeralds and other gems in them in a sort of fashion

Thanks for the video, should help me with using the Enlightened Crown, have any tips for people who have finished the 'hunting' aspect of the game and are looking to start base building?
Wearing the crown through winter and spring makes one prioritize making warly s cordon bleu and chilli dragon salad
Or go fish some sunfish for winter.. Just catch about 4 or 5 and u dont need any thermal stone or winter gear ever again

I wish it was a little better, it's great, but I want it to be a little more worth the amount of work required to get it. Like the bone helm and bone armour are great things to gain for an endgame boss but that needs less set up.
You seem to not realize how broken this item actually is. Infinite +10 sanity aura with no durability is pretty damn good by itself but you also get the benefit of eternal light and benefit of filling 5 glowcaps with 1 crown, do you even realize how broken that is ? you would have to otherwise hunt 20 festive lights from winters feast event which is about 2 ingame years - every year you kill deerclops, 4 klauses and fish for like 10 days in oasis = that means in total 140 days of fighting 2 deerclopses, 8 klauses and spending 2 whole summers fishing in oasis just to get a one benefit this crown provides.
Not mentioning the bonus dmg you get from the crown itself.
If anything this item is turbo broken and should be propably nerfed to be honest.
@@Wilden98 the celestial champion needs just as much set up time, hell it took me 2 ingame years to get the fight up. Not to mention that the amount of festive lights you want can be different so it would take less time, and it wouldn't effect the moon cycle, which can be a hassle to remember.
@@joekinnear4671 The time it took you to set up a fight isnt really relevant, my point was that getting this amount of festive lights just to acquire one part of the benefit this crown gives is at best 2 whole years cos klaus during winters feast spawns just once per a season. While setting up the celestial champion fight can be easily done in like 2 seasons or so.
Also did i mention how op is +10 sanity aura and constant light source ? this makes this item absolutely insane for caves/ruins runs.
Ye but for a maxwell main like me the crown is worthless cause a single shadow worker turns the crown off
@@Wilden98 sure. But, by the time you get this item, do you really need to do more ruins runs?
What I see is, by the time you get this, the only great benefit is megabasing. If not, there really isn't much value in going for it.
Enlightened Crown, Terror Shield, Bone Armor. Its one of the current boss combos.

It's not as great as a tam in winter, but way better in summer.
How about activating the event and using the crown to fight bosses ? You could fight Bee Queen at night with Abigail and use the crown to boost Wendy's low damage.
@@flamboyant_wolf I asked about this in Jazzy's discord. Apparently the Gestalts benefit from Abigail's regular damage buff, not but the Wendy-specific damage buff. The Gestalts behave as their own distinct damage source, Wendy is not technically the one attacking.

I wonder how this works with the maxwell, summoning his shadows reduces his max sanity so is it safe to assume it will still work even tho his max sanity is like 50 with 5 shadow bois out? I know the fuel weaver crown is going to be the best option but im just curious how it would work.

I don't usually get past day 120 before I get that itch to start another game. I really want to spend the time to make a full blown forever run. Any ideas on which one to solo with? Wendy, Wigfrid, Warly, or Wormwood? Fun not power level. I know how strong Wigfrid is.
Wanda. Shes my fav for long worlds mainly because of her backtrek and rift watches. Since i can traverse quickly when i build my mega base. Also for me when I reach year 2, the end of 2nd summer, I turn wildfires off in world settings as its just a nuisance at that point and ruins megabase desgings because of iceflingo needs or limits you to only base in the oasis.

Kinda wish it will give at least minimal armour though, so that you won't have to ditch your backpack when random shit happens and you have to equip body armour. Like 50-70% would do, like a bee queen crown. On a side note I like how this new crown absolutely makes thulecite armour not just an item duper lol. It actually has uses now
Can walter be good for crown as well? he doesnt lose sanity as long as he is not damaged, i also wonder how it could work with his ranged weapon
walter isn't affected by fashion,but he IS affected by magical auras such as dark sword,thulecite armor,night armor etc. So the crown does give and take away sanity,but his ranged weapon also summons the gestalts. You can use this with poop pellets which make mobs lose aggro on you.

i genuinly wish i could get to this content but the game is so hard
keep in mind that using a reconstruction amulet to remake the crown could provide infinite crystals as long as you have the green gems, so your not limited to five glow caps per celestial champion kill (wait then there really is no reason to kill it twice, wacky)
You could do that during the beta at some point, but they removed the crafting recipe for the crown.

I went to place the incomplete experiment but it won't let me place it like something's in the way. I cleared everything out of the way but itstill won't let me place it. I'm on PS4 btw but Ik it should work because I saw a statue of the champion on a different world. So does any1 know how 2 fix this

They recently fixed Maxwell with the enlightened crown, because it used to assume max sanity for the light threshold. So if you had any shadow puppets spawned you were not getting light. So glad they finally fixed it.
Know what I love about this guy, compared to other tubers? (specifically the beardy fellow I dislike a bit)
He helps create and reinforce the DST community. Mentions names, sends us to other guides and creators, in a very selfless way.
He doesn't take 10+ minutes to explain something that can be done in 5. No annoying little accent or rhymes (and don't get me wrong, I love bucket's rhymes and style, he's another one who gets to the point).
Yes, this is probably an unnecessary rant. But my point is here, we should appreciate people like Jazzy in our not starving community, and watch out for others 🤷🏽♂️

The crown is cool, but for all the trouble to get it it really needs a buff
Idk if its just me but after playing around with the update for a bit I still feel better with just a thulecite crown on and bone armour/kramp sack, idk if I am just old fashioned though
Whatever you choose everyone has different play styles
It`s perfect with Maxwell and you can wear a Nightmare Armor to have regen and protection
Yeah, just too bad it turns off it you have any minions summoned.
It is also pretty good with wanda because the older she is the less sanity she loses from dark magic auras

But we already got bone armor for combat.. And the crown isnt that bad for combat either.. Its just kinda a hastle to maintain it..

How would I go about respawning the boss, after killing him I waited probably about 7 days then socketed all lunar monuments and started the full moons again but I couldn't place down the incomplete experiment to rebuild. Does the boss have a respawn cool down?
There's no cooldown. You should be able to place the experiment as soon as you socket all the altars.

So im stuck with infinite full moons and no way to unstuck the lunar monuments
@@lazycoyote795 you can remove them from the fissures by hammering them. Also as far as I remember, no matter how close the altars are, you can still place the incomplete experiment.
@@mounirx3077 Unfortunately, you can't hammer the pieces once the moonstorm event starts. The only way to remove them is to complete the event and kill the Champion.
There have been some patches out recently on PC that fixed some of these hotbox bugs, so maybe that will roll out to console soon (sometimes it takes a couple weeks). But if you're still experiencing it than by all means report it on the bug tracker.

While i like it, I still dont think is that powerful by the point of progress in the game. I wish it always gave you at least the light of a thermal stone or a abigails glow and had a bigger treshold for gestalt spawn, it could work like glow berry, the more sanity, the more light. Since the crown itself uses your sanity each time you attack if you are not base sitting is not a reliable source of light and need lots of snaity food to use it in combat, and it does not provide protection so i dont see is as valuable. Maaaybe if it gave speed and always light as i meantioned you could offset that it replaces a magiluminiscence and just wear body armor or maaaybe a smaller protection by putting moon glass in the crown or something, could be like bone helm that every so time it protects you from one attack and consumes a single moon glass and gives you a shield like a thule crown so you could actualy rely on it in combat, or just a small amount of refuelable protection like 60% or 70%.
Also it could block insanity auras and make the gestalts to give a secure hit like ranged attacks.

Nah light bugs are difficult to control and can be easily killed.

why all of these beautifull thing are only on DST and not on the normal game with the DLC T^T its make me being so sad

@@fuokir2305 My guy, you have to do the eye of the storm quest every single time you fight it. You do the "protect the experiment and hand him tools" bit 87 times, mine, at best 290 lightning crystals, at worst, 435 of them, you have to catch 290 moongleams. Sure, it's easy to fight the thing 29 times, but that's not the hard part of getting the crown.
#6 just use a construction and deconstruction staff to duplicate the shards and never have to kill the celestial champ more than once
