    These sadistic seniors, trying to harass young cadets and eventually killing them, and going scot free is really worse than jungle law. The slow legal process, officers of dgs and ministry getting bribed is all the more shameful. Only when Anglo Eastern Chief Officers and Masters who are guilty, are sent to jail, then this killing will stop. Dharna outside Anglo office must start now.

    Sometime ago, i sailed in one of Anglo Eastern ship called Endurace. When I joined that vessel, there was no chief officer to hand me over the job. A s i heard from the staff and later read the report, previous chief mate suffered a severe injury after falling into the lifeboat during the boat drill. According to the report which was prepared by the captain( Who was in command during the drill), the accident happened as a result of not following the order given to him while climing on the boat ladder and he attempted to board the vessel through a gap at the upper Gangway. The reporot was written to put the blame on the chief mate and to cover up master's wrongful act. The master ordered chief mate to climb up to the life boat deck through disembacation ladder which was 16 meters in height. The climing maximum distance is only 9 meters. Companies and DG should take necessary step for the life of workers but it's unfortunate we are losing personal a regular intervals. A trail and total investigation must be carried out on this cases and strict action should be taken . @@aaqibeqbal3728 No value for officers. All the other companies give 5 star accomodation while anglo puts up officers in apartments owned by their people and gives shitty food prepared by their wives! And gives bahanas like ghar ka ghana and other bullshit. Makes staff do a lot of unnecessary courses and takes money frok ship owner by saying training carried out for staff!! Reduce salaries of hard working seafarers and steals money from the owner. Anglo officers are called paper tigers as they do a lot of bull shit paper work but in reality the safety standards are low. The personal protective equipement are of very low quality. Anglo eastern makes their staff carry shitloads of stuff including boiler suits, safety shoes and other stuff (10 kg at times) when signing on their vesels which many do even though they dont like it. You should understand that seafarers arent coolies to carry around stuff like these. Most people do it because they have no choice and at times they have to do it by letting go of their stuff which they might need during their tenure onboard. Anglo eastern doesnt care about signing off their staff on time. Most of the time amglo staff does more tham their contract time. At end of contract period they just send a new one asking the seafarer to sign that one and send back which most people do too not out of their freewill ofcourse. And even after all these you have to quarrel and start abusing the FPD manager to get back home. And from the vdos uploaded by our beloved sister it is quite apparent that the anglo management has no apparemt valur for human lives as well. What more do you want MR??? I can say more if you want but sadly i dont have time now. Just clear off from my effin view.

    It's been a hard rope walk for everyone be it Seafarers or parents. Companie's, just to save extra money didn't relieved crew even if their contract was over. Some companies still managed to do it but most of them didn't even spared a thought over it. Their only excuse was all ports are closed for crew repatriation, but how come all ports were open for normal cargo operations. When it came to their own money, everything was working and when it came to seafarers welfare, everything was closed! Hypocrisy at its peak.

    • @Omnamahshivay8079
      @Omnamahshivay8079 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Vinayak. It's not always the company's fault. There are ports where signing off is not allowed, sometimes the port rotation is very fast. Sometimes the joiners refuse joining at the last moment. ( this I have seen more with indians than say Filipino, Chinese or other nationalities). Nevertheless, things have kind of improved now , related to crew change viz a viz at the beginning of the Pandemic . But, yes , at the senior ranks the amount of work pressure is a lot.
      Good seniors, dont allow it to percolate down to juniors ... but, such a case like this one, is not the rule , but an exception.
      The problem lies with the fact that these junior officers, have spent so much money in their pre sea training, unlike a normal graduate, who can find employability in any field. The skills in merchant navy ( more so navigation ) , are so specific that they cant get jobs in a bank, fintech etc. This puts a lot of undue pressure on the youngsters.
      With slim pickings in terms of career prospects and huge student loans and debts , they usually just grin and bear it.

He ha seen things , perhaps smuggled goods hidden , and he was going to report it. He didn't realize that the entire crew and ship management were involved in this illegal shipment . Happens all the time especially in the African sector . Mostly weapons and drugs . It's called the cargo run.

  • @krupanparakkandimozhikkari4197
    @krupanparakkandimozhikkari4197 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Cadets being overworked is an undeniable truth. A very common scenario is that many companies convince chief officers to join vessel's which will have heavy works, by saying that they'll give him a cadet. In most ships The chief officers are over worked and he is naturally forced to overload the cadets. Other scenario is when senseless senior officers consider harrassing juniors as a way to train them. These facts are well known to everyone in the industry, but nobody wants to bell the cat. Companies prefer paying compensations for such unfortunate incidents than to spend money on providing sufficient manpower or provide a safe working environment for the cadets. Maritime unions should take this issue very seriously and work on finding a permanent solution for this through international forums.
    These parents are just the face of thousands of parents who have sent their child to sea.

    • @Omnamahshivay8079
      @Omnamahshivay8079 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you're misinformed. A cadet is a trainee onboard. Hes not entitled to a salary, but a stipend.
      Secondly, any choff worth his salt , would already tell you , that a cadet , by far is the most inexperienced, and with least skill person onboard. Doubt, a company could convince chief mate joining with additional ABs , let alone a cadet.
      Though , this matter is highly sensitive, I would like to dispel some fallacies that's being discussed in these comments about shipping in general.
      Shipping is not meant for everyone, it requires long hours of work, months away from family and having to adapt to different time zones and climatic conditions, all within a span of few months. While net connectivity has improved a lot , these days , social and mental health issues still plague seafarers.Like any industry, there are bound to be some bad apples here and there, however painting the entire industry in one tone is incorrect, ignorant and I'll informed.
      Having said that, let the truth prevail, and the grieving families my condolences.

    I'm not taking sides but based on assumptions how can we conclude that if he was the only son left etc etc. Depression is sometimes not seen on the outside. But strength to the family and I hope the truth comes out.

    Thanks to anchal Malik for raising the issue and awareness,
    Condolencs to family.
    1. Pls make same interview in english for international audience.
    2. Just a suggestion....Pls present more facts and evidence as you gather them. Eg. Remove that statement of organ selling, that weakens our case. Also name calling doesn't help. I do understand the emotions.
    3. I think you have already taken the matter to MUI and to FOSMA, AND MINISTRY OF SHIPPING AND TRANSPORT.
    4. We definitely want justice for family. Seen the other videos and heart goes out to family. All seafarers are sympathetic and want to help.
