They said a while back that their intention is to have a single codebase. So there will just be Outlook. But clearly the Office or 365 version of Outlook, that has business features, will be a superset of the free desktop and web Outlook. However, what Microsoft say at one point in time is not always what they end up doing!
I truly hate this. There must be some distinction made between the two since they are clearly different programs. At least differentiate the damn app icons MS!
There’s no benefit to using the new Outlook for end users vs the classic Outlook. Microsoft is just lazy and wants one code base to manage.
Old Outlook is NOT CLOUD BASED, while NEW OUTLOOK IS!
@@steveholmes381 Hey Sherlock-YOU have no privacy with MS having your data in the cloud, but nice try!
Does mean the new Outlook is part of Windows now instead of part of MS Office ???
New Outlook is so bad we made a GPO to uninstall it and bare it from installing
can you send me the tutorial how to make this GPO? I want to get rid of the new outlook and stop it from reinstalling
FFS can't they give this COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PRODUCT a new name.
It is not and never will be Outlook, which is a business app!

New outlook looks dreadful
It's much better than the old Mail and Calendar apps. But if you are already using Office Outlook it is worse.
So Outlook is Outlook on matter how you look at it
