Kayle is a 1 cost, but scales really hard if you 3 star her late game. So it makes sense

I don't know lore-wise, but it does fit with how she is played in LoL
Corrections:
It was already stated that Leblanc is NOT the 3rd Noxian Leader "Guile" as she is the entire reason why the Trifecta exists and the last leader is a secret. The LoR Card is confirmed to be an error and not proof that she is "Guile".
T-Hex is also the 8-Cost Tech Unit Heimerdinger creates in LoR after playing an 8-Cost Spell.
About the Ekko thing: I guess they wanted to make a bridge between Zaun and Piltover since he is on both regions. Which is also kinda "meh" bc Vi is right next to him in Piltover and she fits both Regions much better.
If they wanted a bridge, why didn't they use Seraphine instead? Or Vi as you said. I know many people don't like her, but if Riot wanted lore accurate TFT, Sera was the best choice to make connection
Also the "Ionian" poro is actually a reindeer so it's should be more of a reference to Freljord than one to Ionia
TBH chances are they needed another tech guy on the Thex team and the best you could really get was ekko because seraphine would just be too weird

Yeah idk why Necrit keeps making this mistake about leblanc, riot literally commented that "swain would have to be insanely stupid for leblanc to be guile" since swain and her are enemies
Set 1 was my favorite precisely because it had default-ish skins and I could build teams per canonical region. Glad to know that that's coming back in some form.
Kayle being a 1 cost makes sense from a gameplay perspective to mirror her playstyle from League. According to Mort she goes frome one of the weakest unit to basically a 3* 4 cost

Ekko might be a bit of foreshadowing maybe? Given the end game of Convergence and his character development and interactions with a certain Piltovian.
Only thing that makes sense when Vi is right next to him and, currently, makes way more sense as a bridge between PnZ.
I love that this set has so much contented to LoR, it makes it feel so more unified
Viego beeing a 1gold is kinda weird considering he is literally the King of the Shadow Isles
I think for Ecliptic Vaults, the Bank's public areas may be in Piltover but I bet Jinx breached the physical location of the Vaults from underneath them in Zaun.
I thought Belveth was opposing the void because she's wants to absorb/remake existence rather than annihilating it like the Watchers, so she isn't a good guy she just happens to oppose the watchers
I don't think Jhin would have a problem joinning the others if he has to, just for the potential of drama and art. The others are probably the ones that won't like to do it. Also if this set is based on lore, giving them voice lines when you pair them together could be a nice idea, for example based on traits. Imagine a quote for jhin if you pair him with sona, vi, garen and zed or if you build a teamcomp half noxus half Ionia, it would be interesting.
My thoughts exactly! I even made a quick "Most likely to work with Jhin" tier list when I saw the line-up. I think it's a toss-up between Set and Yasuo- they're both principled in their own ways but also have the most flexible morals due to their association with crime. I think Ahri might also be open to it, but probably only in extreme circumstances. The other 4 would defiantly try to merk him on sight though. Also, I totally agree with you, voice lines based on who's on your board would be really neat! Sadly, I think the dev costs make it a little too hard. But it would have been such a neat way to get the community to engage with the lore! I hope they can do stuff like this in the future!
@@animagamer2 It sounds fun, but I think only Zed and Shen might refuse to work with him at all costs. Sett probably wouldn't care as he also does what he pleases. Karma is after all the spirit of Ionia and Jhin respects Ionia so i don't know if she might try to kill him on sight but definitely might be disgusted of his pressence. Irelia is somewhat intense in defending Ionia, so if Jhin proves useful and doesn't put their own in danger i can see her giving him some space (same with Riven in ruination). Yasuo and Ahri would really be disgusted of his work but i don't think they would inmideatly attack him. But after the ruined king game and their character development they might interfere if Jhin tries to hurt civilians or something. And again Zed and Shen cannot work with Jhin, no matter the cost, they know what he can do and they are not risking it + a lot of trauma with that guy. I dont really think any of them would be able to kill Jhin tho and thats one thing i love about him, all those characters could probably kick Jhin in a duel but his methotic preparation and intelligence makes him incredibly dangerous because he is always several steps ahead of you and only fights when the scene is set. They needed 3 ninjas (Zed, Shen and Akali) to defeat him and only because Jhin wanted a final act and ultimately was his downfall, he coudl have killed them all several times but decided not to just for the sake of drama.
Tbh Jhin is a hired gun he would legit do anything if the Maker told him

The brown poro looks just like Willump's reindeer skin, so I'd say it's a reindeer poro.
Also, they should have swapped Ekko in Piltover for either blitz or Camile. Or, if they wanted to keep the "it can be either Piltover or Zaun" champion, Seraphine makes way more sense for that concept. And how are they going to have Glasc Industries as a location, but Renata isn't a champion this set?
Same for yorick and thresh, they have a location but they are not here
I saw everyone praise the new tft lore-based set but am I the only one to notice that they forgot the bloody pirates ??? Where is Bilgewater ?? And I'm not even mentioning Ixtal 😑
True, Bilgewater could give people the gold generation archtype they LOVE to get.

I think riot intentionally took Bilgewater out bc most of the champions were already in set 8. Or I think so
@@blaz24Unfortunately, from set 9 onward, there is no longer any midset and each set will last 4 months instead of 6 months with a mid set after 3 months
I hope this means we will be getting more Universe stories from now on, I’ve been aching for more league stories.
Hey, can you make a video on canon vs non-canon league stories? Like is Heimerdinger a well respected leader in piltover or does he have a shop with ziggs where they pretend to be people with magic dust? As a long time viewer and lore reader it gets really confusing

Could ekko be in piltover as a hint of him becoming an apprentice of heimerdinger in arcane and becoming more accepting of piltover? Just a thought.
The firey poro reminds me of like High-noon urgot! He had fire in him like he lil poro does, and had the kind of gated appearance on his stomach just like the poro does too!
I was expecting Ekko being mentioned again in the very end and was not disappointed

Kent mentioned in one of the games on Morts channel (conveniently also titled with Kent in it) about Ekko. Basically they wanted a bridge between Zaun and Piltover but currently not many if any make sense. They decided to use Ekko as in the end of Arcane he forms a bond with Heimer and already has had a bond with Vi and so as a stretch were going with he's the bridge to both nations due to his relationship and inventing friendship with Heimer. They did admit it was a stretch but this was more of a necessary for game play part.
Kayle also is meant to scale from being the weakest one cost to the strongest 3 star which also similarly was game play related.
I was hoping to hear more on Ahri's ability and Ryze's portals amongst the other unique things. Maybe a follow up?
I believe the main reason they also put Ekko in Piltover, is if Heimerdinger is building a giant T-Rex, you bet the guy that rewinds time using scraps is gonna join.
Ekko in Piltover is a teaser for Arcane 2 ;)

I've always seen the placidium as basically ionia's equivalent to the white house or whatever. a big important government building for government purposes. while navori is the town or city or whatever that the placidium resides.

I still don't get why Rito did not give Kled a bit of connection to Bandle City. It's already stated in his bio he came from there but they should at least acknowledge his yordle nature in the set. Sure he's Noxian but he's still Bandle.
Ekko are technically not so in hate-train for pilties now, after Convergence story, isn't he? Maybe there was some Idea like makin' him a somewhat "bridge' between two cities. Sounds odd, but some logic are still here, I guess

Maybe the vault in zaun is a Vault that use to be in piltover but they attempted to steal it by actually stealing the entire vault by pulling it down
OK. Targon and Piltover gates are my top priority, when they appear.
I'm a bit bummed that, while Cassiopeia, Kled, Heimerdinger and Ekko are dual region, Sett isn't Noxian/Ionian.
TFT is the only reason I have League still installed
One of the locations of Zaun is Glasc Industries, and Renata is not in this set and in any other set for ages, very sad.
I mean, that last poro is clearly Battlecast to me
i think have the ecliptic vaults in zaun is fine how do you get something from uptown piltover in downtown zaun blow up everything underneath it till it is in zaun sounds perfect for arcane season 2

If they wanted a legend that is connected to both zaun and piltover, Vi would be such a great fit.
Love the League lore but couldn't ve bothered to play it. I do play LOR, but that's because i love Arcane and tcgs.
Ekko is probably going to help Piltover in the next Arcane season...My best guess is that it's not cannon... yet.

I think they just made echo Piltover because he really using their tech and mechanically Piltover needs more front line because with out him Vi would be the only front line.

I don't think them being in the same team means it needs to befriend each other... them being in a team was just about because they were in the same place... so the good and the bad together doesn't mean a thing but team comp. it just happen that the reference was the lore of runeterra's elements.. not their personality and personal issues.

I might be forgetting entirely, but in ruination, isn't Ryze from Shurima and was taken to the blessed isles to train his rune magic?
I hope 2 things:
- More champs in Shurima, Noxus and Demacia (you need to have 2 emblems for a full team, and that is practically impossible). If I have to make guesses, for Demacia I see Shyvanna, while in Noxus both Rell and LeBlanc are strong candidates as for Shurima... Just Sivir.
2) More regions. They left out Bilgewater and Ixtal, which is a shame. But I do hope Riot adds them, with the vastayan charcteristic as well.
Lastly, I have to say that Riot really knew how to pick champs, there are some left out characters like the rest of the ascended, Caitlyn, Thresh or Yorick and Cho is questionable knowing that he isn't actually real in League (but it makes sense).
As for Ekko in Piltover... The end of Convergence makes it that he is willing to work with Pilties
Iirc LeBlanc isn't actually in the Trifarix - it's The Faceless and that's confirmed not to be LeBlanc by RiotScathlocke! Amazing video anyways though
They probably just gave Ekko the Piltover trait for gameplay/balance reasons. Doesn't make much sense but if they thought it was the right choice gameplay wise then I can see the tft making that flavour sacrifice
Any updates on the state of League? I wanna know when they might add the new game modes or whatever else they mentioned for the casual players.. I don't want to be stuck playing ranked to get any reward out of the game. I want to play because I love the controls and the characters, but the ranked play just stresses me out too much.
Despite being their "year with the most budget ever", the game's update are slowing down. Skarner is already pushed back so expect everything to also be pushed back. I would expect only 3 out of the 4 new champ revealed, Midscope slowing down a bit since Ivern didn't work out AND gamemode at the end of the year... at best.
And speaking of gamemode, they never gave any rewards besides some icons so if you want "any reward out of the game" good luck in ranked.
