Also all the poros look alike and no noticeable survival traits that makes sense why they would survive in the area they supposedly shouldn't. As for instance there are multiple species of bear but you can't just take any old bear and plot them in the Antarctic and expect them survive. They will freeze to death because they haven't adapted to the cold like Polar Bears have just as Polar Bears would suffer in places of extreme heat.

When you were talking about the three portals in Nasus' library, you can see a fourth portal in the top left corner. And theoretically there are more portals behind the camera too. I refuse to live in a world where Nasus, the godlike ascended, would keep an asymmetrical layout of the portals in his library.

It's possible to do it in snow so I imagine people can do it in the desert, but still cool to see it used like this. He's a bit brave going through those bones there, if your lines get tangled in that you're.. Boned!
I saw a theory that said these are the remnants of the Taliyah-Xerath battlefield on the "The Path" cinematic. Xerath's power seem to be themed around lightning or at least close to, and when sand meets extreme heat it crystalizes/turns into glass
The Crystal mushrooms have a good explanation from someone on reddit: When lightning strikes sand, it creates weird crystal structures - these could be from xerath ult misses in the Taliyah cinematic!
These "crystallized mushrooms" you talk about at 4:14 might actually be a link to the "the climb" cinematic from 3 years ago that featured Taliyah surfing through the desert and then getting attacked by Xeraths lightning! When sand gets hit by lightning it crystallizes into fulgurite, which might be what those "crystallized mushrooms" actually are.

the way I see it is that Nasus had a trap that would activate if there was an intruder, and when the messenger fell through it activated. Nasus was supposed to deliver the relic to Azir, but he gets interrupted by Renekton and then drops the relic. It seems to me as the messenger willingly handed the relic over to Nasus.
Istg the poro king definitely exists more than as an ally/enemy in a gamemode and is secretly plotting to take over runeterra with an army of these deceptively cute, "harmless", and probably immortal creatures.

Agriculture, transportation, commerce, and force projection over provinces all relied on the river. Given that Shurima takes so much inspiration from Egypt, it's only fitting.
