My sister went there. it is a beautiful school. Sadly when they remodeled it they took out the stage in the choir room were the movie was filmed, although the school needed a remodel badly because PPS doesn't cherish their historic buildings and allowed the school to fall into disrepair until it was remodeled. However Grant High school is my favorite of the PPS buildings and I love its entrance.
That's cool, they used some old fire trucks because of it taking place in 65" that's way cool I remember that parade also, yup the corvares are cool, I had a 65 bug then would have been cool if they used it for the movie..😀thanks Lisa for sharing way cool
Hi Lisa. I'm trying to find the actual filming location for the parade scene. You mention Montavilla neighborhood, but do you recall a street perhaps? Thanks!
@@jonathanwhite3731 of course. SE.Stark St. And 80th. Right in front of what used to be Dickenson drugs (which is gone now) Guy Ferri went to the Country Cat Rest. That was one of the buildings in the movie...
@@lisad476 Thanks! Funny, I kept looking in that area too. Ha! Also, I found another spot that actually matches up with the opening crane-down shot of the parade. It's N. Lombard Street & N. Leavitt Avenue. Looking toward Pattie's Home Plate Cafe on the right.
@@jonathanwhite3731 no..my friend owned Dickson Drugs on Se Stark at the time. They had to give permission for them to film there. It's by the Academy Theater. I'm unsure how much of the street they used but they were there a few days.
