Dayum, 0:08-0:12 😅😄 just made my day. Your son (bless his heart ♥) was trying to sneak and play the iconic Axel F theme song and then you told him to stop playing the song during your video. Good times.
Good thing I moved my car, I almost parked there earlier today. It is actually the on campus Atheneum Club for Caltech. The buildings in the background were some of the on campus student housing. Albert Einstein used to stay at the Atheneum during the 1930s.
It's funny I just watched this movie a few weeks ago on AMC. I hadn't seen it for probably 30 years or more. Great job on the locations. Love these videos. 😀
Axel's theme that your kid was annoying you with at the beginning is the keyboard version of stairway to heaven. Music stores that sell keyboards hear it all day long. Some stores ban it, like the Forbidden Riff in Wayne's World
Thank you for posting these videos. My junior high and high school era went thru '89!! " I'm not falling for the banana in the tailpipe." I love all these movies.
Another interesting tidbit - that hotel lobby was used in a lot of films, but the only one I can think of off the top of my head is "Bachelor Party" with Tom Hanks.
I watched as a child this move being filmed in my building on ingraham and witmer infact I can see my balcony at the 2:14 mark. They also filmed in my building to the scene where his cop buddy breaks in to his apartment and axel comes back to notice his door ajar lol what a trip.
Love it! Coincidentally, the theater where I originally saw Beverly Hills Cop no longer exists as well, like many of the buildings that you reference in your videos. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, mate. Cheers.
It amazes me that Eddie Murphy first movie was had in Beverly hills and he played in the movie like he lived there and later he actually brought a mansion in Beverly hills talk about living your dreams
Great video! Love Beverly hills cop. Btw, that building @2:08 I think is where the Jackie brown movie scene where De Niro's character got shot by Jackson.
Just passed through Detroit yesterday and wanted to see the locations where the intro to the movie were filmed… but I couldn’t find anything on the web. Great video about the California locations!!
Phone troubles..message resend . Great Great job Again..more tidbits..not only Ellis Ks home of Walt Disneys Grandpa and Walter P. Chrystler..also filming location of TV Series w/Jodi Foster-Paper Moon and surrounding towns. Kansas. Middle of nowhere..
Awesome video! I think you might be one store off on the art gallery location... Notice the two palm trees across the street when Axel walks into the art gallery (you can see them over his shoulder) @5:52 - they have a distinct shape like the letter V Now @6:00 you can see the same palm trees across the street in front of the OSKA stor. So the entrance to the art gallery was farther over almost directly across from the OSKA store.. it was the entrance to the old Faconable store. Sorry, hope you don't mind me chiming in with this but in your video it looks like your aiming at the True Spec Golf store as the entrance to the Art Gallery. Anyways, you're fabulous and your videos are awesome!
You might be right, as I said it was a hard one becasue of things changing so much and not seeing the outside of the store in the movie. So you might be right. Thank you for watching, I appreciate the support
Brilliant! One of my favourite 80s films from childhood. It's also my favourite Murphy film along with golden child and 48hrs. Thanks for doing these! Was the monster squad filmed near you?
I remember noticing the intersection of Normandie & 5th in the car chase where I believe Foley takes a sharp turn. Never realized a few other scenes were also filmed within that same block lol
Again. Great Stuff.. And more tidbits..not only am I from hometown of Walt Disney and Walt P. Crystler.. Also. PAPER MOON T.V. Series with Jodie Foster filmed in our town and surrounding towns in Kansas in middle of NO-WHERE...Please TH-cam tv intro PAPER MOON..1974
I really like the landscaping better around the speakeasy area and Maitland house then. Everything seems so overgrown now. And the differences in pruning has changed so much. The bushes being round now and more square. Then
Tô adorando seu canal. Quando me aposentar e for conhecer os EUA, quero começar pelas locações dos filmes que fizeram parte da minha infância. Vou a Los Angeles primeiro. Quero fazer exatamente isso que você fez. Obrigado por manter a chama acesa.
Awesome job! My favorite movie of all time. I can't believe I never noticed the DeLorean!!! I was too busy laughing because the two detectives drove a blue K car. Banana in the tailpipe = classic. I've always wanted to try that on someone I don't like. Jenny was a babe!
Just a quick note: the scene where Foley is giving employees a bad time inside the warehouse, was also filmed inside the Korean Airlines Cargo building. I used to work for a company that handled their flights at LAX, and I'd been inside that building hundreds of times.
Love it Beverly hills cop 1 and 2 are far way the best, 3 its okay, We buy years ago, the limited edition dvd box including the licence plate, videogame and soundtracks, we love to see the locations again, its 80s history, only missing a same old grappy blue chevy nova, first ringtone i had on my first phone was the theme from harold faltermeyer like your son playing
Thanks for showing the filming locations of this iconic 80s movie. It is still one of my favorite 80s movies. Did I get it right, that some of the Detroit scenes were also filmed in the LA area?
Hi there Kurt, what do you plan next? for example, this year (2023) is the thirtieth anniversary of one of my all time hollywood favourite classics Demolition Man (1993) with Sylvester Stallone, and next year will be the 40th anniversary of that worldwide phenomenon Pulp Fiction (1994) :-D any chance you jump on those two as well ? Thanks alot for your effort, great job and keep up the excellent work ! Big fan from Czechoslovakia 🙂
Huge thanks to the photo taker. I was thinking about the Pretty In Pink principles office where they said NOPE in the last video I watched. Cool peeps know the deal. This is cool stuff.
RIP Danny Sembello. He co-wrote a few of the songs on the soundtrack. Danny was a friend of mine. He was a very nice and humble guy 😢
Sorry for your loss ⚘
@@brandonellis8111 was he the brother of Michael Sembello? Think so... great musicians
My condolences. May he continue to RIP.
Man, I love the Sembello brothers' music. A lot of the CD's in my CD case have their beat production fingerprints all over them.
Dayum, 0:08-0:12 😅😄 just made my day. Your son (bless his heart ♥) was trying to sneak and play the iconic Axel F theme song and then you told him to stop playing the song during your video. Good times.
"All this shit happened last time I parked here"
My favorite line of the movie.
Look man. I ain’t fallin for no banana in my tail pipe
i got thrown out a fukin window!
Good thing I moved my car, I almost parked there earlier today. It is actually the on campus Atheneum Club for Caltech. The buildings in the background were some of the on campus student housing.
Albert Einstein used to stay at the Atheneum during the 1930s.
I missed the 80's 🥺
I do too I wish I could go back I'm a 1980s kid
Fun fact: Victor’s #1 henchman is Mike from breaking bad
Whoaaa
Great video. I was lucky enough to be taken to see this as a teenager. Phenomenal movie and what a great memory
The Beverly Hills Police Department was in City Hall from 1932 to 1990 so City Hall did not just serve as Police HQ it was Police HQ.
Yo, that 76 Gas station......
What a great video thank you for posting this. Nobody was bigger or better than a Eddie in the 80’s
Thank you for watching
It's funny I just watched this movie a few weeks ago on AMC. I hadn't seen it for probably 30 years or more. Great job on the locations. Love these videos. 😀
Thank you!
From France.... MEGA THANK YOU for this beloved movie of my childhood👍
Awesome. Thank you so much for watching
@@80sLife i've just realised that in the movie Blood Work by and with Clint Eastwood, a scene is also shot in this police station 👍
The 80s were a fantastic decade, a special mood that will be hard to come back to in the future...
My favorite Eddie Murphy movie and the soundtrack is incredible even now when i watch it i am teleported back to the 80s thank you.
Is there a BHC2 location video?
I've watched this movie literally 300x since I was a kid
I love this video and all the L.A. filming locations . Keep doing the movie location videos, your very good at it
Thank you!
Axel's theme that your kid was annoying you with at the beginning is the keyboard version of stairway to heaven. Music stores that sell keyboards hear it all day long. Some stores ban it, like the Forbidden Riff in Wayne's World
I would literally pay you to do "Body Double", as it's my favourite film. So many iconic LA locations, though some would be really hard to get to.
You may appreciate our recent post on Body Double. I would also love a location video.
Thank you for posting these videos. My junior high and high school era went thru '89!!
" I'm not falling for the banana in the tailpipe."
I love all these movies.
Thank you for watching
My Dad worked at The Beverly Hills Hotel back in the 60’s as a bartender. The first time I saw this movie and I saw the sign it made me happy.
Another interesting tidbit - that hotel lobby was used in a lot of films, but the only one I can think of off the top of my head is "Bachelor Party" with Tom Hanks.
Great job and huge thanks to the person getting those interior pics!🥳🤘And Yeppers on the DeLorean! :D
Thank you!
Fun fact, inspector Todd played by the late Gil Hill really was a cop, and a notoriously corrupt one at that.
Your attention to detail is excellent. I love this movie and I appreciate the effort you put into finding these locations. Great job!
I watched as a child this move being filmed in my building on ingraham and witmer infact I can see my balcony at the 2:14 mark. They also filmed in my building to the scene where his cop buddy breaks in to his apartment and axel comes back to notice his door ajar lol what a trip.
That's awesome
Beverly Hills cop Eddie Murphy was a funny guy in those movies you got a love his laugh 😆
nostalgia...hopefully we get a time machine one day
Dude. So AWESOME. So glad your doing this... Can't wait to watch this at work tonight..
Thank you
I was just in Beverly Hills last weekend and i remember walking past City Hall.
