Laura brings clarity to trauma feelings over a lifetime and their effect if not acknowledged.

Laura was transparent and helpful to those of us who try to help others who are hurting. It also helps counselors realize their need for self-care. Thanks, Laura.

    Excellent. Well done Laura.
I'm a trauma therapist and even though I work somaticly and don't have clients go into a ton of detail (unless they can stay resourced while doing so) I reached my limit for hearing about abuse.
So important to recognize this is normal.

9:34 Seeing all of this laid out is so priceless if you have a open mind and want to improve & learn about yourself. God bless the internet and the age of information, imagine if all the generations of the last century had access to this kind of insight and where open and curious enough to explore it and humble enough to accept it and make a effort to change..

Fantastic lecture. Working in the field of child abuse, I found this to be both enlightening and motivating in addressing my own vicarious trauma.

So so good! "We have a shared ethic of doing no harm. If you are numb you will not be able to gauge whether or not you are doing harm." (16:15) Tuning in to ourselves, and taking care of ourselves, allows us to be present for those we seek to serve and allows us to see and counter oppressive systems.
