Thanks, Doug! The bottom was sanded clean before the Howards was applied. I’m looking to utilize a polishing station to achieve a more consistent finish. It means a TON to me that you watch my videos and weigh in with your years of experience!!! 😎😎😎
I am also a newbie. I received my lathe for my 55th birthday February 2023 is now August 2024 and still learning bunches. This is a very fun activity for me also. From what I see you are doing excellent work and I do plan to keep watching. Thank you for taking time to share.
I like the shape. Very attractive with cracks and all. However, Howard's is written up as non food safe finish and it dulls over time. Of course it can be refreshed. Often. If you have a local turning club I suggest you join it. I learned so much from that.
Thank you, crackerjack. I used the Howards on the bottom of the bowl knowing that it wasn’t food safe. I will remind the recipient of the need to refresh!👍🏻
@@ClaytonsWoodArt I didn't mean for my comment to be snarky., and in fact most all finishes are good once they dry and cure. The only one I'm suspicious of is Lyming wax. Looks great but......
Whatch Phil Anderson with Shady acres wood shop. he has a very unique way of taking those tendons off that once you learn is actually pretty easy and fun to do. He is also very good teacher simply because he explained as he goes. And another one is Papa 1947. He is also great to watch and listen to.
Okay! I was wrong about the phrase! It was "Good Golly, Will you look at the time?" And yes, I have said Good Golly before!
Very attractive bowl, beautiful grain. Enjoyed watching the transformation from Big hunk of wood to beautiful bowl.
@@ralphmalloch8239 Thank you very much, Ralph!!
The next piece….😍✅💯
Great looking Piece Clayton, wasn't sure the feed and wax was gonna work after you said you put paste wax on it first. that's what I get for thinking
Thanks, Doug!

Nice bowl. Beautiful figure and color. I would say it is hovering rather than floating. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
