    I owe this lady big time. I had listened to Allan Carr's stop smoking book years ago and that stopped me finally from smoking. Had no idea he had a stop drinking book until I saw her on Joe Rogan. Thankyou!

    I know there’s different types of alcohol alcoholics, but I definitely think his book is for those who are initially in denial about their situation and also do it daily. When you’re a self-aware person, you’ve already understood all of those concepts, it doesn’t have the same effect.

    • @FilmFanatic-nl2sh

      You do... But Allan's method works so well because he has a rebuttal for every excuse you have for the habit. Anyone who smokes or drinks knows it's bad for them... This just crystallizes it. The only reason I could see the books not working is if someone was actively trying to self-destruct, which to be sure there would be a large section of problem drinkers.

      Most start as kids. The rush you get from the Nicotine combined with the thrill of getting caught is immense. And then before you know it, if you don't have one you feel anxious. It creates a new feeling related to how we feel thirsty or hungry.

    The book really does nothing lol. It's literally the same thing you've heard from all of your family, friends, about why you should quit. Every time I see her pushing these godly books, I have to chuckle. I'm glad it worked for her, but it's just ridiculous how people make money off books that genuinely say nothing new

    • @FilmFanatic-nl2sh
      @FilmFanatic-nl2sh ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Both books worked for me. I find they work because we all have that excuse in our minds about why we want that drink or smoke and Allan always has a counterargument to stave off that thought. Unlike just having people telling you you shouldn't do it, the method provides you the voice to counter your own impulse. I owe Allan carr my life to be honest and will forever promote his books.
