- These clips are from the BBC: Horizon documentary series entitled "We Love Cigarettes". The advice Allen Carr gives is pretty darn good, it convinced me (a 5 year smoker) to quit cold turkey. It has been a couple months now and I'm still going strong.
Update:
It has been over one year since my last cigarette and I have never been tempted to look back. I really hope this simple advice has helped someone else.
Update: 4/19/2013
Still going strong here! Haven't slipped once! Really glad it has helped so many! Thanks Allen!
Update: 5/10/2023
Still smoke free and feeling as great as every! Thank you again Allen!
14 years of chain smoking and after I read his book I no longer wanted a ciggy, 8 days so far and I never ever want to inhale filthy nicotine again, RIP Allen Carr you were a God send.

*update* currently 505 days smoke free. 4/06/2023 about to fly out to the UK for 1 month using the money i would have spent on ciggys
*update* 22/02/2024 currently 768 days smoke free! If I can do it you can do it better!!
Don't pay attention to how many days you've quit.
You became a free person for life.

U were born a nonsmoker, you ARE a nonsmoker!! Congratulations 👏👏👏👏👏🎉
Thanks for the updates. I just started the book on chapter 4 so far…🙏🏽I don’t know you, but I am PROUD of you🙌🏽
Well done 👏 I just finished the book except for the last chapter, "the final cigarette " tonight I will read it and have my final cigarette...the book is brilliant...been smoking 37 years...

Im about to quit smoking after almost 9 years non stop smoking wish me luck !.
EDIT : Smoke free for almost 7 years now !
Hey your comment is a year old. Have you been able to quit smoking all this time ? I’m on day 15 without smoking
Baica Marian Nope i just went cold turkey. 43 days now and i dont feel any need to smoke
@@LafriteRip then you are a strong man , i smoked for 5 years , and decided to quit 2 days ago , but the withdrawal is too strong for me , the need for a cigarrete is kiling me , i went cold turkey also , but i am using nicorrete spray and nicotine gum.
Baica Marian I know how you feel. The intense cravings are difficult the first few days but trust me those cravings will go away after a few days. But if it’s really not manageable for you maybe you should not try to quit right now. Or try to simply reduce the amount of cigs you smoke each day for a while. I don’t recommend using nicotine gum etc , as this will never get you rid of your nicotine addiction .
@@LafriteRip i can resist easily during the day , but at night i cannot sleep , and that bothers me.
I quit cold turkey 32 days ago, anxiety went away when I quit. First 3 days were tough, next 7 days were not as tough.
You can do it too.
how u doing mate?
Yes how is it now?
Comon tell the truth, how is you now
I can report in at 7 days nicotine free after reading the book. Have had some real close moments being around someone’s juul but just kept thinking bout “no such thing as one cigarette”

This works. From a pack a day to zero cold turkey. I haven't had a cigarette in over a year. All because of this video. I didn't even have to buy the book.

If allen carr knew this he would not made this video 😂
I remember a great quote in his book that i read , he said " Smoking causes the symptoms that it relieves ". That did it for me , 10 years since my last smoke now . Thank you Allen
This man’s a saint. Saved more lives than most people. Glad he enjoyed his life before he died, he deserved every second of leisure.
Amen. Just to say also when ppl asked him when ge got cancer back in the day if he did not wish that he had remained a smoker. He said: "The 20+ years i lived as a non-smoker was the best in my life".
I started smoking cigarettes since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting Cigarettes addiction. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my fiancee recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be use globally to help people with related health challenges.
I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
YES sure of mycologist Predroshrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, addiction. Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Thanks for sharing your story. That's rough I sympathize. Save your health save your mind. Life is better without heroin, cocaine, alcohol and cigarettes. And you have more money in your pocket. God bless everyone who has rejected the devils intentions to be addicted to alcohol and cigarettes etc which can cause so much damage to health. I will pray for you all.
Where do I reach this dude? If possible can I find him on Google
Read this book and haven't had a cigarette in over a year. Rest in peace sir you saved many lives.

Yes, he's a legend.
Read the book and recommended it to loads of smokers ...some didnt bother to read it but those who did ...quit...me unfortunately...still a smoker 🙁
@@ilck-ym-blals7385 "
@@ilck-ym-blals7385 you have to reread it my friend. I'm sure you've missed the main point he makes. There are 0 benefits to smoking. The only reason you feel like going back is because you feel like you're going to get something out of it. This is an illusion. Reread the book just fuckin do it!
During a week of my "quitters' flu", I read Allen Carr's book and now I am a happy non-smoker after 25 years of heavy smoking.
THANK YOU, ALLEN!
How your body reacts when you quit tells you all you need to know about smoking. I felt the same. Absolutely awful
All right, Quitting smoking now, been 5 days. I thought this whole thing was bullshit until the very last bit of advice. "The only reason that a smoker smokes is to enjoy the same state of relaxation that non-smokers enjoy all the time". All right, I can work with that. That was good. Thanks Mr. Carr.
GlowWormActual Also read his book, it'll make quitting smoking 100x easier.
GlowWormActual the longer you stop smoking the less craving you start having. happened to me that way
Allen carr is no fool you owe a apology for doubting him he smoked for over 40 years he knows what his talking about rip Allen Carr
How are you doing today?
Exactly! That’s what got me too
THIS SHIT WORKS!!! I bought the book and CD even and would listen to it while driving. I had to read the book at least 10 times and tried more than that but it finally clicked and I've quit smoking for almost 9 years now!!!
What’s the main points?
@@bunyonfirewood I second it. I would also even listen it in the car. It simply changes your mindset completely. I actually even enjoyed the book.
It cant be summarised like this. Just listen to the audiobook.
@@bunyonfirewood That if you quit, you're losing a friend. But in reality, you're saying goodbye to an enemy who was trying to slowly kill you.
This guy is the true example of actual making an impact as a human being. Never forget him and his legacy. He was an incredible and helpful being. His learnings and memories should be carried with us eternally. RIP sir ❤
Threw out my cigarettes this evening, and I can literally not afford another pack if I want food for the rest of the month. It's over, I'm done putting myself through embarrassment of being a smoker, the money trouble every month and the constant worrying, Im so done with putting this decision off, day after day for the past few years. I'm just so ready to breath freely, gain so much time, rid myself of worry and treat my body right again.
Hope you're doing well :)
@@Hannah11235 Thank you. It was a journey, and I didn't stick to it the first time, but I most certainly learned a lot by trying to quit! I've since tried to cut down multiple times, challenged myself on "habit cigarettes" and learned what my triggers are. I can now call myself a proud non-smoker.
I quit 2 months and 15 days ago. And its honestly wild to see this comment now. I encourage everyone smoking to try out the journey. If you fail, you have still learned something valuable for next time. It will never be wasted to try fighting for your health.
I quit drinking thanks to him. I hope he is in heaven, he helped and still helping so many people.

Maybe this could help someone:
I quit in June 2018 thanks to this method. Three years later I tried a cigarette, "one won't hurt" or "only when I'm drunk", until I started smoking again.
So I learned that over the years you tend to forget the reasons why not to smoke. Always remember to keep those in mind (btw I quit again a couple weeks ago)
@John Ryder addition to some is very powerful and all it takes is a simple thought and forgetfulness as to why you quit smoking can have you do something stupid, not everybody is the same, some can do it no problem and some struggle.
That's a good advice, thanks for sharing 😊I needed a second seminar to quit for good 🙏
How About now ?
This video saved my life.
I watched it in October 2009 and quit smoking! I'm so glad it's still here
It was almost taken down for copyright, but I made a case that it has helped so many so they allowed it to stay up. So happy it has helped you!
In my experience the only thing that stopped me from quitting is I kept thinking that I'll never be happy again without a cigarette. But here I am 9 months later cigarette free more happier than I was when I was smoking.
oooooo... personal growth method 🤔. That's up my alley. I'll be such a better person for learning all this bullshit.
@Michael Davis leave him be, insulting him isnt going to help his understanding of certain things in life
Same here. Allen Carr book helped me so much. I smoked 10 cigs a day and i just went cold turkey. Im so happy and Im never going back!
@Starfish Prime means you drop the habit then and there and never go back to it or use anything like nicotine gum or patches to help wean you off.
What really worries me is how I'll cope when someone really pisses me off. My neighbour is excellent at doing just that, and of course there are some other people and situations in life too. Other things I think I can manage but that one scares me.
I used to smoke like 30 cigarettes a day, tried stopping through all kinds of methods (Zyban, nicotine patches, etc) and this book has been a revelation to me. At the time of writing it's been two and a half years living free, without cigarette - I'm feeling blessed. RIP and thank you Allen Carr.
this guys book was the only thing that allowed me to quit forever. i have stopped smoking and vaping 2 and a half months ago now and i felt like i needed to hear some of these points again, as i started to feel a sense of nostalgia about smoking. never again. good luck to anyone reading this who has not quit yet
I'll admit I was very, very sceptical when I got his book. I read every comment under this video with a permanent eyebrow raise, but I've not had a cigarette for over 3 months now thanks to this man. It works!
Over 8 months of not smoking now, had quit (cold turkey) on 26th Jan, 2016. Thank you Allen :) . May your soul rest in peace.

***** Makes me sick today how old people treat young people like crap and say all these terrible things about them. And that's after abusing them and poisoning them with toxins all their lives. And then wondering why they didn't turn out 'better.' I think that the older generation should be embarrassed by the world that they have created. The kids are now born into an ecosystem that is collapsing due to abuse and exploitation. They have a heavy burden to bear, in addition to just being kids
seguefischlin Go change the world then? Not easy is it, it wasn't for older people either
rob jones It's quite easy to change the world if you are willing to change yourself. But that requires caring enough about others and yourself to make that change.
Make it 11 years now! I love it! Read this book if you're having trouble quitting!
35 years a smoker. I got myself to the point where I could no longer be bothered to lie to my husband about smoking AND had reached the end of my rope with smoking...... I no longer enjoyed it. 4 months on...breathing better, so much less stress its unreal, no stinky breath, teeth looking cleaner and gums healthier. My prematurely wrinkling skin will take a few years to heal. Meanwhile hydrating better...eating and tasting more. Life has become a lot brighter and more fun! Good luck to everyone who tries to escape....you'll make it when you are ready.
Best advice...
I hope you're doing well.
I saw this video and read his book probably 10 years ago. It really did change my perspective on smoking. I have been a happy non-smoker for many years now and have no desire to ever smoke again. 7 years smoke free, with a help from Allen Carr’s book. I kept going and never looked back. Thank you God! Thank you Allen Carr! I feel AWESOME!!!
I was proper chain smoking one lovely summers day, I was in the garden and had just lit my fourth cigarette in a row from the end of another and that’s when it hit me “what the hell am I doing” it was that moment I decided I wanted to stop. A family member had the book and gave it to me to read it was about two weeks after I had read it that I woke up and didn’t feel the need to light up and haven’t ever since. 12 years smoke free for me.
What a trooper
You champion. Well done!
Thanks to this man and his book, I quit a life long wretched habit, I remember flicking away my last cigarette, mashing it under my shoe and knowing with absolute certainty I'd never smoke again. There were some failed attempts but it was like the other attempts were just getting me to that place. It's almost hard to believe I ever smoked, I could care less about it now. It's not about giving up, it's about reclaiming independence. Thanks again to this man and his book. Just a thing to ponder, I was disappointed to find many years later that the two people who'd recommended his book to me had taken up the habit again. It's not a magic book.
When i quit a few years ago this helped me. I was so uptight when i quit, felt i was going through trauma. He said, its really not that bad... and i got that it was almost all in my head. Its like dont think of pink elephants, dont scratch your arm all day: then you are dying to do so. But you dont really want to... you’ve just become ocd about it. I have the same skills as when i smoked. Except i AM far more relaxed now that i dont have a one hour timer starting again after every cigarette. I respect myself more which makes me not want to punish myself by smoking. Im telling you, smoking is nothing. Its a tiny itch that you’ve become obsessed about.... its not even very itchy.
Carr is a wonderful teacher. I greatly appreciate his work.
After 18 years of smokeing I found your masterpiece!!! I'm no smoker 1 week
God bless you!!!
Watched this video, marinated on it for about 3 weeks, and quit mid-day last week before a cross-country flight. No craving, no feeling of loss or panic, no reason to ever pick it up again. Didn't have to even read the book, just recognized it was all myths in my head about what quitting would be like (having quit before, 10+ years ago) again.
Good luck to all smokers seeing this. It really is unbelievably easy once you see it for what it is. Enjoy your money on better things and experiences. Taste and smell and breathe fully again.
**Update: 9 weeks nicotine-free. Not a single craving, no desire to go back, not even while drinking.**

I love you! I have quit smoking 10 years ago by the help of Allen Carr book.
I have begun reading his book and found out he passed back in 2006. Idk why but it brought me to tears. Thank God for this man.
He died of lung cancer due to his past heavy smoking 100 cigs a day for 30 years. But he left the world leaving wisdom. May he rest in peace and kids; don't smoke

Its about your mindset.
Focus on what you will gain rather than what you will have to give up.
it made the big difference for me , have tried a few times before without luck , change the way you think and you will succed.
I just quit smoking, yesterday, after reading the easy way book. I’m deeply grateful for the book and that I have FINALLY been able to quit smoking. HOWEVER; I don’t appreciate being lied to about “barely nothing “withdrawal symptoms. I didn’t get any sleep last night, was sweating profusely and feel like I have a fever/flu symptoms. Definitely worth going through to be free of smoking, and only tolerable because of the mindset and information learned in the book, but I feel gaslit, and lied to about there not being physical withdrawals. I am absolutely experiencing withdrawal symptoms.( I have gone through withdrawal from other drugs before, and while this is mild compared to opioid withdrawal, it is not “hardly noticeable “, as Allen said over and over in the book.
I read his book 9 years ago. Before reading I smoked 20/30 Bensin and Hedges a day. Since reading the book I have not had a single cigarette nor have I craved a cigarette. Magic? I dont know, but it worked for me. Thank you Nr. Carr.
I wrote to Allen in 2000 thanking him for setting me free. Allen kindly replied, i have framed the letter. I am eternally grateful to Allen and I'm sad he's no longer with us.
Watched this video 6 months ago and I haven't smoked since. I remember thinking there's no way this could work--it's way too simplistic. But amazingly, that "Myth 1" segment in the video with the poker chips is really all you need to know: Every reason you have to smoke is in fact another reason to stop smoking. I used to think I needed cigarettes to concentrate, write, or be creative. Since quitting, I've discovered that smoking has no bearing on concentration whatsoever. If anything, scientifically speaking, it hurts concentration by impeding blood flow to the brain and constantly distracting you with chemical cravings. It's pretty much the same story with every other reason you have to smoke. Once you accept this, it just makes logical sense to quit. You lose absolutely nothing and gain quite a lot.
Allen Carr was also the first person I discovered who approached quitting as if it were easy. Philosopher Baltasar Gracian once said, "Undertake what’s easy as if it were hard, and what’s hard as if it were easy." That absolutely applies here. My past attempts to quit were unsuccessful because I was always so focused on how difficult it supposedly was--statistics about the high percentage of quitters who eventually relapse, stories about cravings lasting for your entire life, etc. I thought the cravings would never go away and thus felt "doomed". But this time around, I never really had any cravings at all. First off, you have to realize that the cravings aren't chemical as the nicotine is completely out of your body after only 72 hours. It's all in your brain, and you can't have cravings if you have no valid reason to smoke (as mentioned above). You can also use this method to train your brain to break just about any bad habit. Your brain is more malleable than you think.
Also, keep in mind that quitting smoking is not a cure-all. Many of the problems you're having in your life now will still be there after you quit. Non-smokers have the same problems as everyone else. But smoking has no bearing on those problems whatsoever except to exacerbate them.
I just got back from a run and found that the sweatshirt I was wearing still had a little bit of a smoke smell in it, even though I had washed it several times after I quit. I'm finding this with stuff all over my apartment. Disgusting. And I never would have noticed it before. Being a non-smoker is preferable to being a smoker in every possible way.
+John Ross Nice post. This video might be the best thing I've ever seen/heard on how to quit smoking, but comments from people such as yourself are also very helpful. (Try adding a cup of distilled white vinegar to your wash, it's a natural deodorizer).
It was the first myth that did it for me too, the rest of them solidified it for me.
John Ross thanks you’re comment made so much sense. I’ve decided to quit smoking after 13 years of being a nicotine slave. I’ve made many attempts with nicotine replacement therapy in the past but they were all unsuccessful. Tomorrow October 1st 2018 is my quitting date that i decided on 3 weeks ago. I’ve been watching a bunch of videos on quitting smoking since i made this decision and this video was by far the best! Cheers to a healthy non smoking life

Legend ❤️ RIP Allen Carr, You helped millions of people 🕊️
Haven't smoked for more than a year thanks to this legend.
Almost 8 years a non smoker now thanks to this great man - Thank you Mr Carr.
Everything he's saying is 100% true. Once Nicotine controls your life, it will impede everything. Anxiety, stress, boredom, concentration, restlessness, etc etc.... 8 years free from Nicotine from being an addict for close to 30 years, and grew up with cigarette smoking parents and in a time where you could smoke anywhere... Airplanes... Dentist offices etc.. , i just have to tell you... It is the absolute best thing that you can do for yourself.
It got so bad for me with anxiety and the constriction in my legs, i had to almost undergo surgery. Because cigarettes were doing havoc in my body. I had leg pains for years from just standing some days. After i stopped little by little i started to regain my health to where i dont have almost any leg pain at all. The damage is still there but hopefully it will go away. One thing to remember vividly, is how it controls your quality of life. And how you will stink from it.
Nicotine is a drug. And you are a drug addict. But you can stop it. Others have done it before you. You can as well.
And for the record who can afford it anymore?.... 15 Euros per pack?.... Dont think so... But even if it was a cent per pack i would never put that filth in my body again! Never!
Good luck.
I read the illustrated version of this book yesterday. Went 13 hours without a cigarette. During work the today I was battling so hard in my mind that I wanted a smoke. Edit: 9/4/21.
I bought a packet today because I had been using vapes and I wanted to restart my quitting properly without using vapes and thinking it was okay. I bought the audio book and just had my final cigarette. On my last inhale I almost threw up. I am happy to say I am a NON smoker. 30 minutes smoke free and I am confident I will never smoke another cigarette again.
Edit: 2 days and 5.5 hours smoke free. I cried today because I wanted a cigarette. Still going strong without them tho
Well done i have quit using vaping i was a smoker of 29 years i tired so many times to quit but the vape really helped with replacing the smoking and then quitting vaping nicotine now i only vape like a few non nicotine puffs in the evening. I am 3 months clean! I wish every addicted person this freedom
how u doing now, mate
@@gabrielparev2945 I ended up going a week without them but then started smoking again. But I’ve currently quit cigarettes and am vaping instead now, going close to 2 months without an actual cigarette
@@sneakybogan The nicotine is what fucks it all up, man. That's it in my opinion. Does the vape actually better your life in any way? That would be really interesting. But - the nicotine addiction still exist.
@@gabrielparev2945 yeah I know but I’m also saving myself $600 a fortnight by vaping instead of smoking, I don’t stink, and I can vape inside with no lingering ashtray smell. I’d say that’s a damn good improvement on my life than smoking was haha
Big thank you to Allen for saving my life 27 years smoking and since reading his book 15 years of complete freedom :)
This man deserves everything he got in life. Nicotine addiction has been my one downfall. I’m trying his method and I know it will work due to his many success stories!
update?
This man has saved many lives. Respect and rest in peace.
The definition of a real man. Thank you, Allen.
This worked for me. 23 years of smoking. One week without nicotine. Not a single craving
Fucking awesome !
Taint that old stupid habit. Your in control. Never gave you nothing anyways :-)
@@RegulareoldNorseBoy You are right about that! I like how you think ; )
Any update?
7 yrs free thanks to Allen Carr and this book. He saved my life along with my sons and my husband. Wouldnt have been able to do it without his help. I was excited to quit and couldn't wait to be rid of it. Ive never missed it one bit. Read this book, theres hope.
If anyone here is considering quitting THIS is the man to listen to. I purchased his book and thanks to him it was the first time I went over 3 weeks without nicotine since I was just 14 years old. I'm sad to say, I didn't follow his instructions, and indeed fell back into the trap. At the time I was over-confident and ignorant of my control over the addiction. Even though he's gone, he gave me hope that it is possible. I will not let nicotine control me any more!
I quit drinking with his how to control drinking book. The way he justifies every reason that you shouldn't drink (or smoke in this case) is genius.
So he does a “how to control drinking” instead of “how to quit drinking”... wonder why a different approach to different drug of choice
@@AjejeB An excerpt from his book that explains the title: -
"The act of drinking is not only natural, but essential for survival. Drinking alcohol is both unnatural and destructive. But we have been brainwashed to believe otherwise. Therefore casual drinkers do not have the same desire as casual smokers to be completely free. They believe they are in control, so why should they deny themselves what they consider to be a genuine pleasure? Chronic drinkers would love to be able to control their intake, but have learned by hard experience that it has to be all or nothing. In between there are the millions of drinkers who realise that they have a problem, but cannot face the prospect of life without alcohol; so they would also love to be able to control their intake.
If you are one of those drinkers, the title was deliberately designed to mislead you into believing that there is an easy way to be what AA describes as a 'normal' drinker. I make no apologies for doing that. My sole objetive was to prevent you going through further misery only to reach the inevitable conclusion that it has to be all or nothing. Let me also make it clear that the title I have used is truthful. There is an easy way to control your drinking. It happens to be the only way to control your drinking: to be completely free!"
So, don't let the title fool you, it absolutely is about quitting alcohol! Hope that helps :)
This guy is a legend. He said the most important thing. You could apply it to quitting but also all of life.
Its all about fear. Control the fear of living without the smoke. Youre not addicted or this or that or anything more than you are simply fearful of living without something youre having trouble leaving behind or getting rid of.
Thank you Mr. Carr and RIP. 19 years free from smoking after reading his book still without cravings or relapses.
watching this video 6 years on sends a shiver. I went from a 20 a day smoker to having no desire to smoke ever again. And 6 years on I feel exactly the same.
I don't smoke 2 years and i am 200% sure that i will never smoke again. Thank You Allen.
One of the greatest men in history! Great technique. It helped me quit smoking and drinking many years ago and my life became a real pleasure since then!
Be watching this everyday as a great big push to quit!
Incredible man. True saint! Thank you for saving me and others. Rip
6 years on Sunday, I can’t thank you enough
After a long time of smoking and dipping it's been scene November 16th 2013 for me. I'm working out and eating healthy now. It feels amazing!!
Hi there how its going now ? Sincerly
It worked for me, and after showing it to my friend, then it worked for him too.
7 years a non smoker, thanks Allen!
Allen Carr changed my life. Thank you so much!! Greets from Germany!
Every Cigarette packet has a warning sign "Smoking is injurious to health / it causes cancer... " almost all the smokers are educated enough to read and understand what it means. BUT there is a problem. Every time when a smoker when read these warnings on the cigarette pack , he understand that this warning is for rest of the world. this will not happen to him, further he think that he will quit before anything happens to him.
Some smokers are daring enough to think in the back of their mind that let us enjoy the smoke now and if anything happens, they will deal with it by getting best of the treatments and solve the problem.
This is the problem that every smoker think that these warning signs are not for him but for rest of this world. But when a test report arrives, the smoker find it in shock and realize that ohh no this warning sign was for him actually. After the test report the smoker think and speaks in his mind that, Ohh god why i was such a fool ? why did not I understand these warning signs each time i bought a new packet ? i saw these warning signs clearly, Than why did i smoke, why i was such a fool ? he repent in his mind that if he could go back in time and reverse his mistake, but its already late.
So most of the smokers understand this reality of tobacco when the nightmare come true to them and its already very late.
its not just the cancer, you should please know that there are two extremely bad diseases which happens to smokers only specifically i.e. COPD (/Emphysema) and Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) , in which the smoker dies a very bad death. he cough and cough and cough ... ironically for those smokers who thought that they can deal the after effect of smoking and can get best of the treatments and use their money and technology, its a bad news for them, because the doctors cant help in this. COPD/IPF are not reversible. if its detected in the test report your death is sure within 5 years. Further in these cases the quality of life is extremely bad and very uncomfortable for the smoker and for his loved ones.
My friends , plz google out and understand how the above diseases happens what it does. this is not cancer but if its detected the death is sure by coughing and doctor can not help much but delays the death for few months more for coughing up more.
Further let me tell you one thing, please do not rely much on doctors and the technology. they do not have cure for the cancer till date (Its 2018 at present). they just know how to operate scissors and amputations. if you get cancer in lungs they will cut it out , you get cancer in bladder they will cut it out and insert a pipe in your stomach for urination. If you get cancer in mouth , they will cut it out in such a way that you do not need any enemy , war , accident to do it with you and living life with this conditions you can think yourself.
Plz trust me There is no medicine discovered yet that you take a course of it and your cancer is cure. the only cure for cancer is that you cut a part of yourself or die.
Why do you think that you smoke and hospital can save you ? many times you will find hospitals are idiots who are just making a fortune on your big mistake, and the solutions they are able to provide is to cut a part of you and through it off which finally goes in a garbage.
Please understand, These warning signs are REAL. Do not think that these signs are for the rest of the world and not for you. if you are smoking or chewing than these warning signs are definitely for you. Quit smoking/Chewing before it makes you quit everything you love...
Also Please under stand , the only way to quit smoking is to quit cold turkey. its difficult but its the only way. Ask any Ex-smoker that how they quit successfully, you will find that one day finally they just stopped smoking and never looked back (That is all Cold Turkey). Further the best time to quit smoking is to quit now. Tomorrow never comes for an addiction to quit.
It is always NOW is the best time to quit and never take another puff, Dip or Chew. And keep sticking to the commitment to never touch again. if do not touch it again for next 10 days will definitely be hard but later life will be easier. (Please understand next 10 days pain is not greater than the pain of cutting your jaws out.)
For more understanding, How to quit COLD TURKEY, i suggest you to visit the website WHYQUIT.COM . there you will find lots of understanding of how the thousands of people made successful journey of quitting cold turkey and also it will be a great help during your first 10 days to cop up with the withdrawal symptoms and the craving episodes. after a week time or 10 days it will be much easier and after a month time you will start forgetting that you were ever a smoker.
Once you quit cold turkey, after 2-3 months many time you will not remember that you were ever a smoker.
(But please note that as soon as you take one puff of cigarette even after a long term quit, it will stimulate and reactivate thousands of the forgotten memory of the smoking times and your brain will immediately starts craving for one more puff and than more and more .... THIS IS WHAT AN ADDICTION MEANS).
Therefore after quitting smoking in cold turkey way, it is sure that you will start forgetting that your were even a smoker and you will be living your life like a normal person. But you should always know and remember that there will always be a difference that you are an EX-smoker and you are not a Non-smoker. Since non-smoker does not know the test of smoking. But when an Ex-smoker take a single puff , his brain immediately want more puffs.
Its easier to quit than the treatment of COPD/IPD/KIDNEY Failure / Heart Attack deaths / Mouth Cancers / Lung cancers / Bladder cancers / Amputations due to circulatory conditions due to smoking / etc....
Its easier in life to endure pain of cravings for 10 days or a month than the smokers life in which you crave for cigarettes every 3-4 hours.
Whenever you crave a cigarette or tobacco , just look around you the non-smokers . how they are happy living life without any cravings and your cant even sit on your seat when you crave. You crave for smoke only when you live life of a smoker. But when you quit and pass over initial 10 days hard time then you don't crave cigarettes that much and gradually you starts forgetting the cigarettes and you starts becoming like a normal person.
Once you are off from smoking you should remember these cigarettes as COUGH STICKS , which caused you to gasp , cough in pale yellow white color and made a hole in your pocket. So that you pamper your mind whenever you get sometimes occasional craving as similar to the Non-smokers sometime crave for ice-cream in winter and just leave it and forget it.
Therefore remember this now and forever ....
NEVER TAKE ANOTHER PUFF, DIP OR CHEW.
Very well said today I will be completing my 20th day and Alhemdulilah all hard time has been passed and now I have enough confidence that I will never ever start it again in my life...
Thank you so much! I will always keep this comment in mind everywhere I go. Shoot, I’ll even have it down on my phone or a sticky note somewhere where I can always remind myself. You sir, are a hero! Not all of them wear capes.
Well. Here I am. Been smoking since I was a dumb teenager Over 30 years now. A few failed attempts at quitting. Gone downhill only since I hit around age 46. Out of breath just from drying off after a shower. Still thinking “I’m a lucky one”. Every chest X-ray over the last 5 or so years looked good. Recently I was having issues and thought I had kidney stones. So was sent for a CT scan. No kidney stones but lung scarring was seen. Never even heard of it. And the more I’m learning, the more I’m thinking I’m pretty screwed. I’ve never had pneumonia or anything so I’m scared that it must be IPF causing the scarring. Now all I can do is wait for 6 months for a new scan to see how much it has grown. And in the meantime quit smoking. And I’m thinking “5years”. Like you said. We all think it won’t happen to us. I love and work around COAL DUST everyday too, so I’m screwed there also. Can’t afford to move. I’ve become so anxious about things and quitting smoking that I AM SMOKING MORE!!!!! I’m waiting to see if I’m approved to get Chantix but watching lots of videos meanwhile. Honestly the only time I every quit for more than a day was cold turkey with no help. That lasted 3 months. Part of me thinks “ what’s the point now??” It won’t even matter. You can’t stop IPF. But I guess maybe I might get an extra year of life. 🤷♀️. So instead of planning retirement , I’ll be planning on not being around. Planning to clean things up so my family won’t be left with a mess when I die. Figuring out what I want my young adult children to know before I’m gone. I’m 49 now and still have my mom. (She’s a smoker too). I’ve had my mom through all my stages of life. But my kids won’t have that. My grandkids won’t have a grandmother. And a million more thoughts. I am going to quit smoking. And I’m going to change some lifestyle. And I’m going to pray. And I’m going to hope. It’s still kind of surreal. I’ve always known that smoking has “taken” things from me. But I really never thought it would take my life. DONT LET THIS BE YOU!! Please quit BEFORE you feel the bad health effects. Because by then ITS TOO LATE. I am grateful my kids grew up in a “anti-smoking” era. I am so glad they don’t smoke.
Assalamualaikum brother! Whatever you say is so true and your words really motivate me to stop smoking im a smoker 10 years now! As now im 23 years old i think the time came for me to quit! Inshallah
Thank you Arshad Ahmed Khan. I appreciate your knowledge and your advice.
Goodluck to all of you who are quitting.
It works! I’m on my 3rd day now. Much easier than I thought! Much more relaxed and focused! Don’t be a slave to cigarettes!
I’m reading the book now ! I keep focusing on the freedom i will have once I stop , instead of the slavery I am currently in . I still feel something needs to click though. Hoping by the end 🤞🤞🤞

This video helped me quit smoking December 2011. I have been free for 4 years. I am visiting this video again because I want to help some friends quit smoking.
Those basic fundamentals really were enough for me to kick the habit.
Good look everyone, you can beat this.
Awesome news my friend! Keep up the good fight and spread the word!
