My children and I were never a fan of Christmas pudding until your recipe. It has united our whole family. This year my 30 year old son (youngest of 6) has requested to learn the Christmas pudding recipe. I sent him your video which I did not know existed until today. I suggested

I grew up a second generation English Scots in Utah. I had a bit of a tough time, many people don't get the humour, language nor cooking style differences. I am now an old woman of 66, living in The Great State of Texas. This brought me Nan back full face. I did not realize or remember, I guess, just how much it all meant to me until watching these videos. What a brilliant Christmas treat I say, with tears running down me face. @TheRenaissanceman65 I thought us Greeks had the reputation of overdoing it with the amount of food. Last year, my parents couldn't decide what the appropriate meat to serve at Christmas was. You see, lamb is traditional in my mother's village, but everyone has become westernized and expects turkey nowadays, yet my father prefers glazed gammon. The solution? Serve all 3, of course. And then, you have all the side dishes, and my mother always makes pasta in case one of the children gets fussy and won't eat anything else. Plus, you have the wonderful Greek tradition of guests always bringing dishes of their own, because it's considered rude to go to someone's house empty-handed. Refusing any dish offered is also considered extremely rude, so everyone feels obliged to eat a little bit of everything. And when you get to dessert time (at which point everyone is stuffed and bursting at the seams), you discover that every auntie has also brought a cake of their own, and of course they will be offended if you don't have some of that. Every guest goes home with several containers full of leftovers, but the food has still not ran out, so we have a week of eating Christmas leftovers until they either run out or become so stale that they're inedible.

Her Leg of Lamb in Beaujolais is mind blowing. You can Google it. Also her Anglo Italian Trifle. Favourite dessert.

There is a very good reason why Delia is a definition in the Oxford English Dictionary. Here I am, on the longest day of the year, looking at Christmas food! Nobody else could make me do that.

Thank you so much for uploading this! As I'm in Australia I must endure a summer Christmas, I've endured them all my life and it just doesn't feel right. One day I'll have a proper, winter, English Christmas. Just like Delia! 😆

Personally I am not a Christian but I love watching the preperation and ceremony, where I live if it is not for the likes of these types of shows you would not think this is England or a Chrisitian country. I wonder if that Turkey and Ham is Halal?
