When the original 6 part series came out in 1990 I was a young mum, who enjoyed cooking and baking traditional British food. I bought the book, and have used it ever since. The pages are covered in blots and stains from food being made from Christmases past, rips where they had got stuck together, and brings back lots of memories every time I open it. This is the 1st time I have seen this version, and it's just as inspiring, for me as an oldie now, as I hope it was for the younger generation. Delia is always by my side at this time of year 🎄😄🎄

Yes my first Christmas cook book too as I was a young mum with 4 children and extended family to feed over Christmas. Following Delia everything went perfectly … added to wonderful Christmas memories.

Thats so lovely. I discovered Delia when I was a young new mum and had realised quickly, if I didn't learn to cook, I wouldn't eat. My son is now 12 and I start early each year but still love reading Delia's recipes.

Beef in pastry? So it's basically beef Wellington. It's crazy and sad though that thanks to inflation, it's way too expensive to get a quarter of the ingredients, especially all that alcohol!

Love Delia.... never had a failed recipe, but I totally disagree on one point, which seems tiny but actually matters a lot imho. That is, never, ever, ever use foil to cover any steamed pudding, be it Christmas, suet, sponge or whatever. . Instead, cover the pud with buttered greaseproof paper first, pleating to allow any expansion, then cover with pleated muslin cloth, tie with string, then steam. When steamed and cold, change for clean coverings and store. Believe me, it really does taste better, and for some reason, suet puds and sponges are fluffier and just.... nicer! Honest!😊

It’s a special time,of year to gather with friends and family and eat delicious home cooked food. I’ve just spent the evening making delias bread sauce, red cabbage and cranberry and orange sauce that I will freeze and use on Christmas Day. I’ll be making Christmas cakes tomorrow, mum makes the Christmas puddings. If I had to choose my last supper this meal would be it, heaven on a plate.

Delia is a great cook, but she lives in a world of her own. A sort of upper middle class, wealthy, posh world. This show has "easy" or "simple" receipes according to her, but for most of us, they are difficult and very expensive to make. Just exactly how many budget Christmas cookery shows do you know of? Cos I can tell you there aren't any. You adapt things. If you don't have all the ingredients, you substitute.

Jamie Oliver does have a Christmas pudding video, I quit when he mentioned "suet", I don't know if there's a substitute for it.

Im not sure about the “vegetarian” roulade. You said use vegetarian parmesan but you put in cheese & egg?
Youre a very calming person to watch but i think some things need a bit more care/clarity xx
