In a struggle to meet someone so he can get to Washington he stumbles upon a storage facility ran by a guy called B.J. Things are far from normal but can Chase get to his rendezvous?

Anytime one of those things *'breaks the skin'* and you are exposed to their blood getting into your system I believe you should 'turn' whether it's a SCRATCH or a BITE, but if they did that we wouldn't have all those _cool escapes_ we've seen in this show.

I think my favorite part of this hole thing was seeing rick and Shane and ricks life before the apocalypse with Lori.
One thing I love about the Rick cameo in this one is that it relates to a comment that Carl makes to Beth in season 3 when they move into the prison. Carl is helping Beth with bringing her stuff into her cell and he just casually mentions (I can't remember the exact wording) something about not being a safe as this since they stayed at the storage facility.
The actor for Chase was also in The Punisher season 2! He was also amazing in that show as well. He played The Pilgrim in it.

Initially in the first episode Morgan talked about it when asking about is wound. Asked if it was a bite or scratch. However I think most the changes relate to the removal of Frank Darabont because he had a much different plan for the walkers and the show cause you can see the change in how they acted because the walkers act completely different from season 1
I’d say light scratches from a walker most likely won’t give you the infection that kills you. We don’t really know for sure tho, most likely Big Tiny would have died from infection with his massive back gash, but the two security guards that Rick and Shane saw didn’t die from scratches. That’s just something Rick told Shane because he didn’t know if he could trust Shane enough in that moment with the info that everybody comes back as a walker. Keep up the good work guys, love the channel and as someone who has seen every episode at least a dozen or more times, getting to see your reactions are priceless.
In season 7 of fear, someone gets scratched by a walker and they don't turn.
This isn't my profile, but don't justify bad writing, I'm not saying the walking dead shows are bad, they're not, but every show has its problems.
@@ciarajones4970 You are correct, I totally forgot about the Cindy Hawkins episode. To be fair I’ve only watched Fear season 7 once all the way thru. It does jive with what I’ve been saying at least, it doesn’t make sense for most light scratches to infect since people are going to tumble with walkers and get scratches easily. I wouldn’t say it’s impossible tho, a really putrid walker could have some nasty stuff under their fingernails potentially.
Speaking of Lost, do you remember the episode before Beths death? When Daryl and Carol are on the bridge in the car that went over and fell down?
It's actually a Lost reference, you can see the little statue of the holy Mary. The car is supposed to represent the plane Boone went down with! :D

Wow, I did not know that. There is also a supernatural Easter egg. It happens season 4 episode 9. Carl losing his shoe in Sam's room. At least I wanna say it's an Easter egg but you never know. Good to see Arzt on here. I've forgotten the webisodes

Oooo I haven’t seen this one. The guy playing chase is Josh Stewart. Such an amazing actor! He played Detective William LaMontagne in Criminal minds and Arkin in The Collector series. He has a long list of shows he has been in as well. Absolutely brilliant!! I believe that a scratch doesn’t carry the same impact as a bite. However they do still carry the infection. That is my take on it.
In terms of getting scratched, in season 3 when they were in the prison, Big Tiny got scratched on the shoulder by a walker and he was doomed. But the scratch was from a walker's jagged bone who had broken its hand off from the handcuffs. So............
If you watch that scene again, you'll see that Rick called it a bite and said Tiny was doomed. Tiny said it was only a scratch and that he felt fine. Thomas just killed him anyway. We dont get to find out if he would have turned. There are no examples of people turning from just a scratch. Given how often that must happen, it's reasonable to assume it must be something in the saliva of the walkers that makes their bite lethal.
In season 7 of fear. Someone gets scratched by a walker and nothing happens.

The bite only affects people because the mouth is next to the only active part of the zombie.
The extremities are dead but the head is not.
Chase is in punisher which Shane’s actor is in too , amazing show
My fave of the webisodes. I liked that guy as the pilgrim in the punisher season 2 fantastic actor. Wish they would have done more on chase, maybe brought him over to main show. Also if not watched The Punisher, should put it on the list. Jon Bernthal (Shane) plays the Punisher

When I saw this as a kid I thought Chase was Lori's brother since he said he was looking for his sister and the way he was looking at the Grimes family pictures made it look like he was reminiscing. I guess it's not the case but there's a similar storyline in the comics about a brother of Rick Grimes who lives in Spain and is looking for a way to get to the US.
It's not the scratches or bites that kill, it's the potential infections from the inflicted wounds caused by a putrid, rotting walking corps. That infection causes a fever that eventually causes death, and everyone turns after death unless they were killed by head/brain trauma.
I'm so happy you guys are reacting to this one too. 1st time I was so invested in this story, especially when I saw Rick's photo album. I was certain Chase was Rick's brother... He wasn't. Good story tho. Happy New Year's Rob n Trin, and to everyone watching this with me! 🎉🧟♂️🧟♀️🎉

hadn't ever watched this webisode, (truth be told, hadn't even ever heard about it till i saw yalls video) so i went and looked it up to watch first, good little webisode, and the writers as usual, are on point. there's always gonna be that one dickhead around it seems. the world is full of them. even after a ZPOC. good job guys. happy new year to both of yall.

Scratches do not cause the infection. Saliva causes it. However, if someone gets scratched in an apocalypse without proper medical aid and a proper shower, it can get infected and they could die that way. Since everyone turns no matter how they died, barring a brain injury, if someone were to die from an infected scratch, they would turn. We have never seen someone die from a scratch in any of the shows. Tiny, one of the prisoners found in the prison, got scratched. Rick was unsure about scratches and another one of the prisoners just smashed his head in to be safe. This made Rick not trust that prisoner.
I like to think chase is Rick's brother because that smile gets me when he looks at Rick picture
Jim was unique in the fact that he was the only person in the show with a profound paranormal experience before the bite he saw the future in a dream now apart from tales of The Walking Dead show we haven’t really got anything like that apart from Rick waking up two months after life-support went off but I think that would be sci-fi Because if this virus was made it was made with the intention of immortality to stop death and he has been through a lot of injuries throughout the show no hospitalization whatsoever and he’s fine within a week Hell he woke up from the dead and kept his mind who’s to say he can’t do that multiple times
Chase was awesome!...I wish he was in the series more...btw...he also acted in the thriller: The Collector.
When the group first gets to the prison one of them says something about the place "being gross but no worse than the storage lockers" or something. I've wondered if they meant these ones.
I did comment about us not knowing whether or not scratches can kill on your reaction to season 3 episode 2, where Big Tiny gets scratched in the prison. We never got to see it fully play out because the other prisoner killed him right away.
The cops on the ground being turned without bites was foreshadowing of the group finding out that everyone turns, even without bites. That revelation isn’t until the end of season 2, so prior to that the conclusion is that it could be scratches. We are still yet to see FOR SURE if scratches can turn people!
(Unless it happened here and I missed it, I hadn’t seen this webisode).
I would've thought scratches turn/kill. reason being, when the saviours, led by Simon, attack hilltop, they taint their arrows/weapons with walker guts, then injured people who'd been medically tended to and were expected to live, turn in the night and attack others. The only one who did'nt was the woman shot in the leg by Dwight, because he was a double agent and didn't want to kill or hurt anyone.

About the 2 cops with Rick and Shane. Jenner told Rick at the CDC that everyone is infected and at the point where Rick and Shane found the 2 cops, Rick said they must have turned from scratches because he hadn't confirmed whether you turn no matter what until he killed Shane.
The guy playing chase resembles Rick Grimes a little bit. And in the comic books, Rick Grimes mentions that he has a younger brother. I know it’s never mentioned in the TV show and in the comic books he only mentioned him that one time but then there was a spinoff comic book of his brother. I forget what was his name, but Rick Grimes brother was somewhere in Europe, when the outbreak happened, which is why he was never shown or mentioned again, and. Now if they make another spin off I would love if they got this actor to play the younger brother of Rick.

Joshua Steward was in The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar and The Punisher Season 2. A great actor who makes one wonder what he's doing in a webisode.

I don't remember all the webisodes very well, but I remember this one being my favourite.
Another good review, only seen this Webisode twice [3 times now] but this Webisode is still so entertaining.
{Also the female actress is called Cerina Vincent, she played the "Yellow Lost Galaxy Ranger" for the 7th season of Power Rangers, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.}
I think for a scratch to do it, you also need to get Walker fluids in your blood stream, so if THEY have Walker blood under their nails... but not otherwise.
I never saw this one! I don't have regular TV so I never got to see all the extra stuff unless I heard about it and sought it out. I'll have to find this! 🙂
this one was my fav, the tie into ricks family was nice. would def like to see a follow up to chases story, see where they went what happened to them

Maybe a scratch could get infected and then they die from said infection and then turn because they’re dead, it’s a weird one for sure

I don't think a scratch would necessarily turn someone. To turn would require the introduction of something from the zombies system. So if the zombie had some of his fluid on his fingernails then I'd say there's a good chance. Otherwise it would just be a scratch
In S3E2, Big Tiny, the inmate who got brutally put down by his own buddy Tomas, was scratched by that walker whose hand was pulled free from handcuffs and revealed its arm bones.

Rick and the others were only suspicious of the scratches, back when they didn't know that every one was infected. By seeing zombies without bite marks they got to that conclusion but ever since they discover the secret that theory was tossed aside, you guys are hanging on for too long on that detail lol

I think the woman from the last webisode did the right thing for her kids. Assuming she didn't have anyone nearby to take them to. Unknown amount of time to turn plus it's random anyway. If she left with her kids, they would probably hesitate to leave her later, not understanding and she would end up eating them. In this situation they had no choice but to leave her and she bought them valuable time instead of all running together with the zombies in pursuit. I thought the same thing at first. Like wow lady, you didn't have to do that. After thought, I think she did the best thing.

The only connection this really had was Rick's storage. Well... Possibly the caravan that he was trying to catch up with.. there were rumors that it was our group. I believe he said his kid sister was in the group but I might be making that part up. That would've been awesome if they caught up to it and it was our group. It wasn't though. We never see Chase or that girl in the main show or Fear TWD. Sadly
I like the webisodes cool little stories set in the universe also we don’t know for sure how long it takes someone to turn could be hours or minutes
Watching the series late and not remembering these existed made it hard to watch ANY of them!

Right, I've never seen anyone turn from a scratch in the walking dead and I guarantee, there have been plenty of scratches but a bite always does it unless they can cut off a limb and stop the spread of the infection in time as you've seen. I'm not going to lie, seen this pop up and thought it was the next walking dead regular episode and it was disappointing. Apart from the Rick and Lori storage locker Easter egg, this was one of my least favorite webisodes but it was cool to get that little bite in there. I'm sure Lori wished she could have gotten those picture albums😂, it's a good thing she didn't try

im a big TWD fan (fear and spinoffs included) but i never got to watch the webisodes only ever saw the flight one. where can i watch them on?
Logically, the fact that bites and scratches kill you doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you see our group constantly covered in walker blood. You would imagine at least some of it has to get in an open wound or in their mouth, and in some cases we know it does (for example Abraham's hand in Season 5), but it doesn't cause death. If a bite kills you then so should getting their bodily fluid in an open wound. But bites=death is the story they're telling so I'm willing to go with it. But I'm pretty sure they scrapped the scratches thing at some point after Season 2. Hair and fingernails continue to grow after death so you'd have to imagine they are getting scratched every time they fight one hand-to-hand.
While I agree with all that you said I just want to point out that hair and fingernails DO NOT continue to grow after death, that is a myth.
Also I wonder if the bite causes an infection or something that triggers the disease that's already in the body? like the CDC said that everyone is infected. what if the disease is already in the body laying dormant and it only becomes active once it meats active cells from a walker's mouth/Saliva? It's all kinda vague. and doesn't make sense as you said. haha

As far as the bites go, it's presented as a pathogen that is present in the mouth of a walker but not in the blood, which is acceptable if it's a walker that recently turned (like when Milton bit Andrea). But some of these walkers have been dead for years so I can't imagine they are still producing the saliva required to pass on the pathogen. But yeah it's one of the "rules" of the show so I'm willing to accept it.

as far as i know scratches infect you. it has always been a bit weird on the show if scratches make you sick/die and then reanimate or not, but i think it is safe to say that if a walker rips your skin open you also get infected. if they helped dale just before the walker ripped open his ribcage, he still would get very sick and die i believe from the walker scratching his stomach open.
Scratches don’t do it. At least that I’ve ever seen with the show & frankly limited knowledge of the comics.
Big tiny got scratched in the back season 3 in the prison we didn't see him turn but head prisoner killed him cause they knew he would turn
Scratches do, do it. Big Tiny was put down by Thomas because Rick said he wouldn't survive the scratch. Only things in season 1 were "disregarded" for a while on the show. Not from season 2 so those cops did die from scratches. It's just less likely to happen now because the walkers are so decayed that their fingernails would probably fall off when scratching. The decaying process is slower after you've turned, that's why that one walker in 2x11 was strong enough to rip Dale open.
You can die from a scratch that gets infected. They were unsure at the time if scratches did it. it does not do it. We've never seen anyone die from a scratch, and using Tiny as an example is flawed since he didn't die from a scratch.

Scratches do infect if the walkers blood is exposed because in the prison story line "Big Tiny or Tiny" got scratched in the back when the walker pulled out of its handcuffs an the bone N blood was exposed then the guy with the long hair that Rick ends up shooting beats his head in with a hammer I believe
