Not only was Simu Liu (Shang Chi) in there, but Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa, and Scott Evans were there. Slash did play on the original song, along with Wolfgang Van Halen, who is beside him at the end.

Also, Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt, who wrote and produced the song , played the guitar and piano at the beginning, wearing pink shirts

Ryan stole the show 💕 Barbie movie brought life to the Oscar’s and made it lively and fun to watch
If I would’ve told you a year ago Ken, The Doctor, Shang-Chi, Bob Marley, Slash, and Scott Evans would share the stage at the Oscars, you’d call me crazy and ask what I was smoking.
The other 4 primary Kens from the movie are there, Simu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans and Ncuti Gatwa who flew in from London on Thursday for 2 6-hour practice days. In the movie Wolfgang Van Halen and another guy did it. Wolfgang is there and also the Fu Fighter's drummer and he did it in the movie.
Ncuti finished a block of work for series 15 of Doctor Who before leaving. Remember he is The Doctor!
The other guitarist at the end is Eddie Va Halen"s son Wolfgang.
Love the beginning, how it stared, everything else in the middle and especially him belting it out at the end. Kisses his locket for Eva Mendes his wife, nice touch, the guy simply rocked it perfectly.
Everything was just perfect for this performance, it was a nice closing to the Barbie era.

I planned the whole thing and it was his decision to honor Marilyn Monroe doing "Diamonds are Girls Best Friend" from "Gentlemen Prefer Blonds". He sang in "La La Land" and had a band called "Dead Man's Bones" for a couple of years.
Slash performed on the song, all of the musicians on stage were the ones who wrote it. The four kens at the front were all in the movie, Simu is Shang-chi and Ncuti Gatwa is the new Doctor Who.
Just so Much FUN! The best unstated thing is his performance in dominating the Oscars put "The Slap" to bed.

Slash played in the original version. So did Wolfgang Van Halen who is also in this performance! (Also, bet she went to see Transformers with you!)
The last time an actor performed this way at the Oscars was likely Bradley Cooper singing Shallow with Lady Gaga. Ironically, it was also written by Mark Ronson, who wrote this and was playing bass in this performance.

Now we just need Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Timothee Chalamet, Anne Hathaway, and Gal Gadot to appear in a Barbie sequel, with Emma Stone as Barbie’s best friend Midge who’s in love with Ryan’s Ken, and Cillian Murphy as Human Ken in the real-world, who’s Sasha’s (Ariana Greenblatt) teacher, and the love interest of Margot’s human stereotypical Barbie (Barbara Handler) in a Barbie sequel whenever Greta and Margot are planning on doing it right after when Greta gets done filming Chronicle of Narnia on Netflix.
I DO hope that the original actors like America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Will Ferrell, Kingsley Ben-Adir (who also played Raggae singer Bob Marley in Bob Marley: One Love) Scott Evans, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Cera, Dua Lipa, and John Cena (Mermaid Ken) appear in the sequel too.
Also, I think they should bring back Mark Ronson to compose and write more songs for the sequel (probably make it a musical this time) and probably for a Ken movie and Allan spin-off.
We definitely need a musical broadway. Let’s start a petition!

Damn right that this rocks. Not only are Ryan and Slash killing it, but anyone who has something to say about the pink suit should look back at Axl's hair. Or any Prince outfit. The coolest men in rock history dressed however they wanted, and they weren't afraid of people questioning them.

I’m Just Ken May not have won for Best Original Song, but they all did won our hearts though (Congrats to Billie and Finneas though). “What Was I Made For?” was a sad and depressing song I ever heard. I love the live version better because it has a different key than a sad & very depressing studio version. Billie is such an angel. The way she sang it ❤😢
The guys in the front dancing were the real other kens for the movie

i am completely infatuated with the song and the amazing performance ever since Oscar night. i watch it every day :-). so bummed it did not win. so sick of brittle voice girl performances!
