I was there in that crowd. Every word you said is right. That was a true masterpiece at every level. The whole concert was the experience of a lifetime and I still get goosebumps and tear up when I see videos of it, and I'm 75 and seen nothing to compare with Pink Floyd. As for David Gilmour, he is just a genius.
Response was absolutely beautiful and you were right on point with your review… I love your enthusiasm and I know it comes from your heart also… Two different songs one is sorrow and the other one is High Hopes from the same concert. You will not be disappointed in either one love you, my brother.
I have watched literally hundreds of reactions to this performance and it never gets old. I choked up and shed tears listening to the music and watching your reaction, just like I always do. You're 100% right, this is more than music. This performance taps into something deep inside all of us, and creates a world we can all lose ourselves in. This is an experience like no other. Pink Floyd was a band like no other. At 78 years old and nearly a decade after PF officially disbanded, David is still selling out huge arenas like Madison Square Garden. I will be there with my son (27) and daughter (29) on November 9. I want them to experience what it's like to see David Gilmour live on stage while there is still a chance. I can't wait.
Speaking of expressing what's in your heart, you're pretty good too, using your voice face and body to let us see into your soul. Beautifully analysed.
Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My girlfriend and I at the time loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I can not describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.
Same concert...Sorrow, Coming Back To Life, Wish You Were Here, High Hopes, Run Like Hell, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, The Great Gig In The Sky and many more.
Hello from Sweden! When I saw that you are a bassist, I thought that maybe you would realize how incredibly beautiful DG's solo is... and you did - thanks for a wonderful reaction 💜💜💜
As someone else said.you cant close your eyes. Its a concert video. Pink Floyd isnt only auditory its visual as well with the lights and effects. It adds value to the music itself.
Yes! David Gilmour has the most emotionally eloquent guitar on the planet. Remember I mentioned "High Hopes" on your Nightwish reaction - High Hopes is originally a Pink Floyd song - maybe you could react to both versions!?
You are one of the best reviewers. Not only in what seems to be the love you have for great music but your ability to describe what that music does emotionally….and not to forget your knowledge of the technicalities surrounding the instrumental delivery. Well done sir. Well done. Subscribed.
Many people claim, this has the "best guitar solo ever", they can't just agree, if they mean the first or the final solo! ;-) I think, they belong together...
Great reaction ! What counts is the music...the way a brilliant Gilmour formed every single note on this magic sound carpet. Happens once in a lifetime. Greetings from another bass player from germany. And yes....I (also) mostly keep my eyes closed on Pink Floyd songs. Light effects are outstanding....but I don't need them to understand the music. Keep going ✌
@@eddybassreacts 🖖Likewise. Bass player (and his drumer) always needs to understand the song basics, the core message (so the frontline get all the cheers). That's bass player fate 😉 Happy to see that PF keeps alive nowadays. I'm in that PF rabbit hole for over 40 years now. And it still gives me goosebumps
Welcome to the very deep rabbit hole that is Pink Floyd. Your journey is just beginning when/ if you get a little more time please continue to react to other tracks from their rather large catalog. You will like some more than others but you will enjoy it all . Some earlier comments suggest watching the video while listening saying your missing half the experience and they are right. But it’s your choice. Maybe try it a couple of times?
Totally agree with you. I am a bass guitarist too.brilliant solo probably one of the best solos of all time. Loved the repetitive riff that started half way through a bar and went on for a couple more bars.
Thanks my friend, I know how you feel. I’m a British 68 year old Man cooking in the kitchen. I’m not afraid to say I was choked up with tears in my eyes. My wife came in and said, Bob are you okay. I said, fine, it must the onions I’m chopping up. Lol Love to you. I’m now subscribed. I love me Rocksteady and Dub too Bud. ❤️👍
Back when I could still play, "COMFORTABLY NUMB" was always my warm-up song when I'd pick up my bass to practice. A year ago, I had a couple of back-to-back strokes and am no longer able to play, but this was the song. I sure miss playing it. Pink Floyd had several really great "bass player" songs, do keep going. As one bassist to another, be sure to check out the bass line in Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "WELCOME TO THE PLEASURE DOME" th-cam.com/video/WzOGLKTmeuY/w-d-xo.html. Even as a little kid, I was always drawn to the bass in songs. The bass in that song made me want to be a bassist. Just found and subscribed to your channel, looking forward to more.
The Floyd is definitely an experience all their own. I was lucky enough to see them a few times before they quit it. A few of the best shows I've ever seen. Like you said, the music speaks to your heart & grabs your soul. The only live experience that came close to them was Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble live. Be sure to check this monster trio out sir. Stevie will grab you by the soul & take you for a ride. God Bless 🙏
Great reaction! Are you from Jamaica? I was watching the new Bob Marley documentary today, so good. More Pink Floyd suggestions: Dark Side of the Moon album in two reactions, side 1 then side 2. Also, Echoes live at Pompeii, 1971.
Wait till this guy reacts to "The Great Gig in the Sky" from the same concert. That oughta blow his socks off ;) Think I'll subscribe just to see that.
As a bass player you should listen to Sorrow from the same show. Guy Pratt does some great work on that track, you thought David Gilmours solo was good on this song...just wait...
I don’t want to spoil your enthusiasm, but the solo was played practically the same (at least in the two Earl‘s court live concerts). The solo on the CD and the solo on the video is not exactly the same, but 98% identical - so it is clear, it is composed.
Great reaction. For another mind-blowing live Pink Floyd masterpiece, be sure to check out the 25-minute long epic "ECHOES." (th-cam.com/video/zrProK5R7ms/w-d-xo.html) The song is a brilliant and deeply emotional musical "conversation" between Gilmour's guitar and Rick Wright's keyboards (and their voices), and when Wright died in 2007, Gilmour stated that he'd never perform it live again. So this video, from the final night of Gilmour's 2006 tour, is literally the last performance ever. Enjoy! I look forward to seeing your reaction.
Sorry to say that but... you just cannot close your eyes for Pink Floyd live.... Maybe you will be disturbed from the music a bit but Pink Floyd live is not just music.... the experience is much more complete eyes wide opened, even if you can't process all that gets through you.
Absolutely agree. I was practically begging that he open eyes during some of the best visuals not only of David Gilmour but the entire stage production. Floyd has always had mesmerizing live shows but Pulse pretty much best all around IMHO🙂
You might be surprised to discover that these are the two best guitar solos ever done. Listen to them and see if you don't agree: th-cam.com/video/ljNLSCSYFL0/w-d-xo.html And: th-cam.com/video/h75__yIYwHk/w-d-xo.html
Probably missed seeing 95% of the visual experience. Wouldn’t it be great if all Pink Floyd live performances would automatically stop if the viewer closes their eyes longer than the time it takes to blink?
The original edit of this is better than this re-edited version - even if the audio IS the same. Also, this is a concert - so please keep your eyes OPEN. Pink Floyd live is as much a visual experience as it is an auditory one. Sure, you can keep them closed with the studios version but NOT for a live version.
I don't think "Pulse" is the best representation of Pink Floyd. I love their remastered originals, then "some" of their live shows, Gdansk, Royal Alpert Hall and others.
What a shame you missed half the visuals because you had your eyes closed. Floyd is not just about the music, it's a visual and spiritual experience. If you close your eyes you may as well listen to a CD.
