- OneUI 4 aka Android 12 finally made its way to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+. On the surface, it doesn’t look like a massive upgrade but a lot of cool new features have actually been added. Here’s a quick look at what’s new in the OneUI 4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+.

It's just great to see a large manufacturer like Samsung keeping the Android Tablet alive since Google and most manufacturers have stopped making premium Android Tablets 😎
I never imagined hot corners being on a Samsung tablet. I've always wanted something like this.
Dex is such a cool feature. I wish they invested more into it. If I had the same usability with dex as I do with my windows laptop I would use it a lot more
What else can they do with DeX, it is just a windowed UI for those that for some reason cannot get away from a window's like design! It will never be great as it does not run W11.
@andyH_England well no shit. It's an android tablet, not a windows laptop. Either way, windows on arm sucks. Besides, the windowed ui makes multitasking so much more convenient

@@andyH_England it's better for the platform it's on, which is arm. And windows is anything but great when cones to that, so this is definitely preferred
Love the 4 corner shortcuts with the mouse and the fact that it can house more than one option makes it even better!
It is a great shortcut but don’t you need to leave one corner empty so you can place your cursor somewhere without the tablet reacting?
@@reeseinny you can put your cursor on the middle of the screen and the icon will disappear after a few seconds.
Wish they could incorporate a right click which would give options like open a new tab in browsers. Or open something in a new window by clicking the scroll wheel button. That would be a really useful feature while using a mouse.
I’m thinking tht oneui 4.1 will bring improvements to Dex and maybe on the upcoming Tab S8 series…
I’m glad Oneui 4 Samsung focused more on animations and fluidity🙌🏽
Thank you for diving deep into the software changes unique to the tab series rather than just focusing on the general Android 12 changes we've already seen many times before. I had no idea the pin apps in dex mode or corner actions existed.
Appreciate your continued coverage for the Tab S7 series. I'm still loving my Tab S7+ which I bought during release, and I'm really glad to see it getting more updates.
Well it still be worth buying this year. Or would you go with a basic iPad gen 9

My S7 plus lags so bad only on TH-cam. It crashes so often, it's ridiculous

One thing I hate on OneUI4 are its cluttered and unorganized notifications. On Android 11, the notifs are arranged in groups (Conversations, Alerting, and Silent). Now, they are just arranged in a one big single block.
I am BEYOND EXITED that pop-up windows open in a default size and remember how they were the last time you used them
Thanks for this. Your review on this tablet is what made me purchase a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ and I love it. I'm so glad I bought one. I'm also a gamer and emulating retro games looks beautiful on this tablet and performs really well too.
Will the new 2.4ms Spen be supported on the base version of Tab S8 ? I'm a student and want a Tab just for seamless writing as currently for the same price of S8 I'm getting a S7+ please suggest me what should I do ? How good actually is the 9ms latency I'm new into writing on Tabs. Please guide me
What’s your experience with Netflix 4K HDR and Amazon Prime Video 4K HDR with the S7 Plus? I read some reviews that it was not working great or supported at launch?
@@jeromehenryuk I don't watch those on my tablet I just cast that to my tv. Any video I've ever watched is just fine though. But they just playing whatever auto setting it's at I don't change it.

Was a bit gutted at first, when you hadn't mentioned my favourite features I'd been waiting for... but that soon changed to being really happy and interested, because you mentioned a couple of features I didn't know, that I'm really interested in (mouse actions and precise location) as well as the ones I'd been really excited for (extra dim mode and cam/mic disabling).

It looks like the update will be fun. But what I'm really waiting for now is the 4.5 update because of the Android 12L. I hope we finally get better multitasking, UI elements, animations and performance boost!

Thank you for still making these samsung videos! It's nice to get a refresh from the myriad of apple ecosystem videos out there. What makes me sad tho is there doesn't seem to be a sign of developers taking care of android apps for tablets more seriously so samsung kind of bears all of the work here.
It’s googles fault that android has almost no tablet optimized apps in the play store. iPhone apps on the iPad look horrible so developers must optimized there apps for the big iPad screen otherwise people wil have a bad experience and won’t download and use there app. on android tablets phone apps look not as bad as iPhone apps look on the iPad so developers don’t care optimizing there apps for big tablet screen
I really enjoy how indepth you go with the reviews. Most other tech reviewers dont do this but you actually go into real detail. Like where you explain that the changes are consistent even when closed.
Well, I'm barely on minute two, and your review of new features is already miles ahead of everyone else. I didn't even know the changes to multitasking and pop-ups. Other youtube reviewers just covered the changes advertised by Samsung, but Samsung never highlighted the changes you highlighted. Good stuff.
Most TH-camrs don't even use the products. They just read out specs and shoot fancy B roll. MKHBD is terrible for this. He constantly glances over great features of android tablets

Bigger means more cumbersome too. I think the 12 is the sweet spot in terms of size for everything. Travel, practicality, portability, the whole hog.

Fantastic video! I really appreciate your focus on detail. You're slowly converting me. I've been using Pixel phones for several years but I think I'm going to look at the S22 when it comes out. Google can't seem to develop an ecosystem of their own so Samsung is looking more appealing everyday. Thanks so much your work on these videos.

It's true that iPad has more processing power (high priced) and more developer support (I'm jealous but ok) but I love Samsung's cheaper price, notifications, flexibility and extra features of their tablets.
Also, seems like Samsung tries harder than apple to make user friendly improvements. Apple is like “here u go,”
Same, I value the more open ecosystem far more than raw performance or constricted perfection.
But while it would take very few steps for Apple to open up, it would take a giant leap for Samsung or Qualcomm or... Intel to reach Apple M1 levels.
@@m80116 true. I use both os. iOS annoys me bc these r not features that u need to open the walled garden. They control everything n still no aod etc.
@@hhhmmmmmmmm I truly love the AOD. It's almost like having a Smartwatch. And split screen on the 📱. Currently I am only compatibile with MacOS but just... things may change in the future. I am always open about it.

One UI 4 is great on my Note 10. Animations are nicer and battery backup is also great. I wish the color palette choice was more customizable so that we could pick individual colors rather than the group that it automatically generates.

Best video yet about OneUI 4 for tablets. Keep up the good work !
If you go to the device care -> memory you'll find it now uses what they call RAM plus. It's basically the use of a swap file/partition on the storage to offload some apps from RAM instead of just killing them. This will help mitigate apps being killed when memory gets full (although it will have some performance penalty when fetching memory from the swap file/partition and it will increase storage nand memory wear with the increase usage).
Just wish Samsung stopped downgrading the RAM amount and just gave us 12GB for these $800 plus devices. The Tab S7+ 5G was £1000 and we only got 6GB/128GB! I feel Samsung are price gouging and the M1 iPad Pro 12.9 now has more RAM on the base model! Who would have thought?

I got the s7 for black Friday for £440 instead of £700ish as a student, amazing deal and well worth it. Amazing upgrade from the tab a10.1 obviously but wow its perfect. Not too sure how much difference there is between the 7 and 8 though but s7 really is perfect

Been watching your Tablet S7+ video!! I got a MacBook Air ($950 🙄) for college. Was debating between a laptop and apple iPad , iPad w pen and keyboard was too expensive. Then I saw all of these 2-in-1 laptop w touchscreen. Ones I wanted were also expensive. THEN I saw these tablet videos!’ I WANT ONE!!! So bad!! But I just bought the laptop and college starts this week for me. I’m going to save up and buy it !!!! 😁😁 even though it launched almost more than a year ago, it works amazing for what I need! I wanted a laptop style device, but sometimes I want to doodle or hand write notes on an easy and accessible device. Great video !!

I'm also enjoying my Tab S7+ and really like the new Android 12 and One UI4 upgrades. Definitely worth getting the top end keyboard cover it's a game changer vs just using the screen itself for everything

Woa... this is great, I use my tablet every single day for work, and a lot of what you teach is extremely useful, this is great stuff!!!
Great video as always. Another tip, One UI 4 gives you ability to share the Samsung Keyboard case with your samsung phone. Just press CMD and Lang keys on the keyboard, you will get a pop-up on your phone to connect to the keyboard. I've found this useful for when i have something long to type and i dont want to use phone touch screen keyboard.
Just do whatever you are doing with your tablet! Not sure I see the point of that?

I'm super excited about the mouse gestures working in dex! Taking screenshots is so annoying in dex (because we don't have the side panels which I usually use) but if I'm taking notes in class and want to screenshot information into my notes it gets so frustrating. Hopefully the gestures will make it slightly easier.
