15:35 you just need to go to settings >connected devices>samsung dex and choose "auto start when book cover keyboard connected" !
It goes into DeX if you leave it in that mode the last time you used it with the keyboard. If you turn it off while you have the keyboard and then take the keyboard off, it won't turn on with DeX. It's not random, but rather a "last used" approach to when attaching the keyboard works. I personally prefer this as sometimes I fold the keyboard back after attaching the keyboard but don't want it to go to DeX mode so I can continue using it as a tablet. If I then unfold the keyboard and want to use it as a laptop, then I just enable it with the function key it has for DeX.
Easiest way for me is just set a routine that whenever you connect to the keyboard it automatically goes to dex mode

Hi Jerad, thank you for your video. I would say that slim keyboard is better for journeys when you don't have enough place for the tablet on the table or you need to work without a table at all.
I got the book cover keyboard Slim, and I love it. I am not too keen on track pads, and between the touch screen and the S pen, I don't need a track pad or a mouse. It's called Slim because it takes up less room on the table, and it fits perfectly on my knee. I was going to buy the other one but this suits me fine. Dex comes on every time because I have it set up to come on automaically.
yeah this guy clearly didn't use any braincells when thinking about the naming "slim" vs non-slim.. i duno..
On the moko, one bad thing noticed is the flap near the lenses. That will be a pain when trying to take pictures
Using the Spigen. My only complaint is that the flap/cover is a little annoying to deal with, but that's purely due to this type of case and not this case in particular. (And if you plan to ever transport the case, having a cover is probably a very good idea.)
It works well, feels good, and unlike some complaints I saw it is not too tight and works fine with a glass screenprotector installed.

I use supcase unicorn beetle on my S8 ultra tablet it's bulky but awesome protection front and back with built in screen protector
Are all this cases with magnets affecting the S pen? I mean, in the past with the Galaxy S6 lite I have one with magnets that when drawing we get gaps where the magnets are.
I prefer much the slim cover as it's more stable than with the trackpad keyboard cover. Saw the difference when I was using my S6 and S9 now. With my trackapad keyboard, hard to put it lap or on the go
Hey Jerad. Can you tell me is the Samsung Keyboard cover for the 2023 Ultra are the keys Back lit?
If you go to the settings you can specifically select when keyboard is attached go into Dex mode. It's in the actual settings. I have the s8 ultra.
I have never used the trackpad's on my laptops, and I would not use it on this either, so I am ok without it. However 70% of the time, my keyboard is not attached to my tablet, but I still want a kickstand, so for that reason, I would want the non slim.
Don't you realise that for the samsung keyboard trackpad case, you can detach the keyboard if you ever want to use it as a tablet for media consumption?

@@jeradhilltech Thank you for replying. This is an underrated availability, that many people need. And this feature should be highlighted in future ✨🩶 . And as you said, it surely gives an extension to hold the tablet, avoiding those accidental touched at the edges.
Are there other options for a keyboard case cover other than the two Samsung options?
I'm salty, too. Bought the thin version also. Now, I am trying to find a way to return/ sell it to get the track pad. For the cost of the tablet, it should have come with it. Also, I have the previous cover, but the camera doesn't line up. I wish they would've made a rear cover only option. 😢

Review the dexnor keyboard case for the S9 ultra.
I wasn't confused. The Slim doesn't have a trackpad, but the other one does. You can go into the settings to open Dex whenever the keyboard is attached.
just a tip, dont try to fold the keyboard backwards when you can just detach it from the tablet.

I wish they made a 3 pcs keyboard case, the 2 peave you know but the 3ʳᵈ peace covering the edges of the tablet while leaving a small gap on the bottom to fit the keyboard case and have full protection and still have the flexibility to stand it at a preferred angle.
The moko case with a very slim Bluetooth keyboard trackpad combo tucked in the back might achieve this. This is what I’m thinking of doing.
Wish somebody would do a video on how good the Samsung S9 ultra does editing raw photo files on Lightroom. There is no videos of the difference between the 12 gigs of ram on the S9 ultra versus the S9 ultra with 16 gigs of ram that has one terabyte storage. Thinking about buying the one with 16 gigs of ram but nobody talks about it😊
I’m working on a video that includes that. The short answer is that it is the best Android tablet for Lightroom editing but I don’t enjoy the experience being that I also have an iPad Pro.

I would like to buy the keyboard cover, but $500+ for a kb case is just obscene.
I went to Walmart and bought a $10 keyboard. It takes two AA batteries works just as well as a $500 keyboard.

When I pre-ordered the keyboard, I too was duped by the weird nomenclature and there too, Samsung deliberately avoids showing a picture of it without the track pad!!!! I was so pissed! I loved my trackpad on S7+ keyboard case, I had the Moko for that one too, very classy. The slim keyboard is only useful in that it stays on your lap better than the other one. the reason the keyboard without a case is called slim is because it takes up less space on a counter. the entire tablet takes up the same space as just the keyboard for the trackpad case, i get it but slim is a stupid word to describe that concept.

Seems like there's a misunderstanding about the Samsung Slim Cover.Do you guys really use these products daily?People buy the tablet for Samsung Dex, touchscreen, and stylus, not to replace another notebook as we've been doing for the past 20 years. There's no need for a slow trackpad when the stylus is much faster. You could bring a mouse, but you don't need one with a tablet like this. It's time to break free from old habits!Another advantage of the Samsung Smart Cover is the keyboard, which is much shorter in depth, especially suitable for use with the stylus. Additionally, this cover is stable on the sofa, in a taxi, etc. (see the construction). The cover with a trackpad is far too unstable for that. Hence, I don't believe you guys actually use and test these products in your daily lives.
Really disgusting how Samsung convinced me to buy a Tab S9 Ultra by giving out the keyboard cover for free...
Guess which keyboard they actually gave for free :) The one nobody buys because it has no trackpad... Why would they even make that thing to begin with...

Nikon Z7II Camera raw n basic jpg file does not supported by S9 Ultra.. pathetic. It's a just high price Smart Tv in small size.. 😢😢 I regrets buying it . . Procreate doesn't support android. Even you can't edit your photos on the go taken with DSLR. Even you can't copy paste a non support file . Phew. Don't waste your money on this.. if You an artist.. go with iPad. Now m just stuck..

This man is being so picky. The keyboard is fine. We have it and like it without the track pad. If you need the track pad, just inbox it in the store to be sure
