The engine sounds awesome! Putting this car back on the road after all this time is a noble cause indeed. This is a pure-blooded hotrod if there ever was one.
The idle sounds really good. I like the way the lope changes to a rumpa rumpa rumpa then back to a rumpity rump rumpity rump rump. I could listen to that until the plugs fouled out!
The sound of an old ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) is like music to my ears, like oxygen to my heart and brain , mostly of the time when I'm driving I turn the radio off just to enjoy that sound ,I do enjoy modern cars but to me nothing like an ICE.
I was three years old the last time that car ran! Goes to show what the "old" stuff can do when given the proper love and support! Great job on this car and all the others you've brought back from the brink....
Damn man that last idle at like 22 mins reminds me of the 8ba i had in my shoebox and fired it 1st time with no exhaust. Love a flathead sound. Perfect fit to the era
YOUR HARD WORK IS GREAT AND YOU HAVE MY FAVORITE NOW RUNNING. I AM A FLATHEAD NUT. I LOVE THEM AND THE WAY THEY ARE "CRANKY". MY '40 FORD COUPE AND MY '52 FORD TRUCK ARE STILL FLATHEADS.
I love flatheads too, bought a 50 ply coupe & pulled out the 440 & droped in a merc 255 flattie. Now i can piss off the mopar guys too when i tell them "yup, still got a flathead^
I love sound of the old Hot Rods ! They sound better than the new hopped up cars ! Old Hot Rods sounds like real cars as some of the new ones sounds like a chain saw or something stupid !
The big thing is , the fact that you are getting these projects " Banged - Out " !!!!! you see how many people over the years drag this stuff home & never do a damn thing with it , and then it get's hauled away for scrap !!! There's a old sayin that know as , a " PIPE - DREAM " , and with most of these pipe dreams there's 1 big problem , " THE PIPE HAS A BIG OLD " STINKY RAG " STUFFED IN THE TOP OF IT " ! keep up the hustle, you guys are making those " pipe dreams " come true ! 2 thumbs up !!
Thanks Paul! That’s a big message we’re trying to send with our videos. It doesn’t matter whether you want the car to be perfect or not getting it running and driving and enjoying it during your lifetime is most important. I agree too many of these vehicles sit with big dreams and never make it back on the road!
Thats great, when you got that car in Detroit i lived two blocks from that tire shop in 1969 and remember seeing that car over the years and it was never for sale. Can't believe no one stole it setting there after they closed. I had two car stolen in one year at that house. Really glad you got Matt thanks for getting back, so we can see it!
@@IronTrapGarage the back windows were fantastic looking on that rag top ...... though I can't recall if they were glass/framed. Been quite a while since you liberated it from that Detroit garage.
I cut my teeth on flat heads mid 50's hanging around my brother friends who. I help put motoes in and pulled them out with just using a rope hoist block & tackle by the time I was fourteen, I became very skilled pulling fords R&R plus many straight eights & chevy 6 cyl. now I sit here watching your shop work, I'm now working on a 40 ford cp. 327 ,5 speed TKX with a dodge rearemd 8.7/8 locker yes i'm still a hot rodder at 80 yr old but a loy slower. Keep up the great work Matt.
Awesome job , guys ! I'm not sure who is happier , the car , the engine , both , or you guys . I'm happy , lol ! Sounds nice , looks great ! Just a few things to finish , then the actual run in & final adjustments . It should be a real head turner , but then , all of them are . Fantastic work !
My daughters boyfriend found some cast aluminum adapters for the lower rad hose, they work great. They step the hose up to fit in alignment with the radiator.
Oh man, I thought the idle sounded all right, from the first start when it got its own fuel, but that last start, wow! Only the deep echo let on to the ear that it wasn't ohv. By the sound of it, you might be the first guy to drive it since Jack himself! That's gotta feel so sweet! Congratulations to all you guys for what you're doing there. Hope the '39 auction went well, if I were in the U.S. I would have bid, painted it black laquer, not waxed it, and let nature take its course for a while. Loved that car. Got caught on it when you fabbed the firewall. Go team itg!
It looks and sounds GREAT! Of all your cars I think this is my favorite. I love the full fendered cars for daily drivers. It should be a great car to take the lady out for a ride on a nice summer day. Nice job all of you.
Can I be seleceted as the test pilot to test drive that classic beast of a hot rod. I always enjoy seeing your innovation to get the cats back on the road.
Long time listener 3rd time caller. How about a 10 question interview for Steve. And a FreeTee drive along . As always love yalls content keep up the great work yea Mike stuff . Such a huge win. Sounds like a mean machine .Neato Daddyo
Steve is shy and doesn’t like being on camera much haha. Best bet is to corner him at an event and ask away! Hoping by spring the Free-T will have all the upgrades done and we can do a drive-along video!
You guys need the little battery operated fuel pump that goes in the gas can and the car ! You can get it at Walmart ! I use one for diesel and one for gas here on my farm ! That way you don't have to lift to can to pour fuel in anything ! I think it uses 2 AA batteries it has and on and off switch !
To think of the state of that car when it was sitting on that lift to what it is now is amazing. I think if anyone else had got it it’s fate would have been much different, a mega-buck over restoration or parted out. Great save and great build/sympathetic restoration.
Thanks for sharing, Guys! The roadster sounds GREAT! About those heads...did I hear, correctly? Solid copper with no water passages? Interesting.... Enjoy! Be safe! Bro Harry
Flat head sounds FABULOUS!!!!!!
Agreed!
The engine sounds awesome! Putting this car back on the road after all this time is a noble cause indeed. This is a pure-blooded hotrod if there ever was one.

Haha yep! Gotta clear this one out at idle from time to time just like the old days.
Yeah Man, she sounds like a "Harley" at idle, it's coming along fine!
Sounds like a mean Flathead!
Matt,Mike and Steve Show another rises from the ashes.
So friggen, close.
Won't be long till she's on the road again.
Matt's job on the gas tank cover patina job is absolutely perfect.

DeLorean Roadster sounds RAD!!! Can't wait to see it finished!!!
Wow !!! You talk about an engine that sounds awesome, that is it. Best sounding engine yet Matt !!!!

I was born in December of 1954. Maybe I was convinced in it before it was parked.

Definitely a milestone. Car sounds great. I feel the excitement to run it around the grounds.
Thanks Gary!

The flatty sounds very healthy. Music to the ears. Fantastic job guys, you should all be very proud.
Sounds great, just like my old 46 Ford with headers. That was back in 1957.

Great progress. It'll be great with the white canvas top, cowls and hood in place.
Can’t wait to get that padded top back on!

Nothing beats the feeling of making this old stuff live again!

Ah cool yea we’ve seen those before. Good find!
Remember my father having . A toggle switch on the Old Modal A Fords it was a red plastic ones. Love your shows on the early Fords.👍💖

I am in lust! I, personally, think that the car needs to have an overall semi-gloss black paint, so it kinda looks like it did, back in the day.
Awesome job! Sounds great. Can’t wait to see it on the road.
Run flatty run, closer to that ride and as always thanks for the video

Thanks for watching Greg!
Nice job Matt
Pretty freaking cool! Considering what and where that car came from. So much amazing history, another one saved!
Did I hear Matt tell Steve to save some gas for a banger motor? Can't wait!
Yes just a banger engine we’re test running for a customer before we sell.
I love the heavy, "throaty" , rumble that engine makes! Awesome!
Love the sound of a healthy flatty, Christmas wish- long shot- You, Kate and Moon drive this baby around the block Christmas Day. Merry Christmas!
That would be ambitious!
Can't wait to see this one at Macungie WOT show in Aug 2023. Nice Job. Sounds GREAT!!!!!
Morning Matt, pretty cool, nice choppy idle... I'm looking forward to this car's completion....
Be safe, God Bless!!
Another small victory. That engine definitely has a nice bark.😊

That blatty flattie is rather natty!
Thanks so much! I’m just doing these cars the way I feel they should be done. I think with some careful repairs it’ll wear it’s age gracefully.
