Citizens cost 50 food 40 with civ bonus, prefered to play artillery with range increase and zeppelin spotter... and cheese the crap out of snipers add civ trait camoflage on them and you basicly have to stand on then to spot them even with aircraft.

No sir, I did not I will always fire up some single player of this game and its sequel for nostolgia. There was a time when Empire Earth was literally the only game old enough to run on my computer back in 2003.
Lol, know that feeling. Over the years I have installed EE on many different computers and operating systems and it was pure random if it works. I think Windows 95 and XP were perfect, 7 had problems, 8 ran on one PC but not on my laptor for some reason, but after reinstalling the operating system it magically worked and on Windows 10 it works somewhat, but the graphics are broken.

Hey Spiff - there is an multiplayer community for EE still. can't say how many people are active, but the servers show up. It's called NeoEE and it's about the only running service some people think the installer is a tad sketchy and may have a trojan in it so be careful. Watching this was a rush of nostalgia to one of my early PC gaming experiences (Warcraft 2: Tides of darkness being my first PC game). I remember having the EE Gold edition that I got on sale for $15 at the local Big Lots with my allowance. The massive tech tree poster was amazing and if I still had it I would certainly have it on the wall above my computer still even though I haven't played in years. Also EE2 tends to have more community support like EE2 Unofficial patch 1.5 which fixes it for windows 8/8.1/10 and allows for more resolutions and makes EE2 better.

I *loved* this game in middle school when it came out. I loved the sense of progress you could get from stone age to cyberpunk. Done right, it really feels like a sort of god game, advancing humanity. I also remember mods to make the limits ridiculous; like 24 players, 8x map sizes, 50x unit caps etc. So, it kinda felt like real-time civ 3. I still have the original box and manual. I LOVED this game. But havent played since like, 2005 or something. More vids on this gem please!!
I had the massive Gold Edition manual. Mannnnnnnn did I have to break into that thing before I could unlock my full potential in EE. I specifically remember this being the most complex game I played in early grade school lol
Empire Earth II has a ton more polish than this one. Comparison of aspects you complained about: - Path finding: 10/10 - Networking (with the community patch): 7/10. The server connectivity is perfect, but the software establishing the direct IP connections is kinda meh. - Broken Srategies: Barely any. The metas are rather fixed, but that should be expected in RTSs without patches. Fast/Fast is mainly about mechanics and getting the basics down perfectly to spam units quickly. Normal/Normal is largely about strategy while knowing exactly how to adapt the basics to your strategy to avoid falling behind in any of the crucial aspects (Building speed, Civilisation Expansion speed, Unit Growth Pace, and the resource supply behind it all). Anyone looking for an RTS who finds Starcraft too centered around unique playing techniques for the various races etc. should definitely look into the meta of this game, cause the Multiplayer, while obviously limited in playerbase, is insanely fun.

It would be awesome to see a remastered version of the game the first one, the one that i enjoyed the most. And this brings me back good memories i love it. And btw why are you playing the expansion and not the main game?
The game he is playing is only the expansion of Empire Earth 1 i have played that game last month so i am sure, the expansion adds the pacific campaign and is quite different since that time the developers were already others. The main game is quite different from the expansion, and from a person that played hours and hours on the main game i know very well the differences. One of the big differences is straight away the main menu which is quite different. And the other few ones are the buildings and some units.
@@ThunderGuardian Yep, Age 15 (the Space Age) which includes the Teleporter building, space stations and turrets (for space maps - which work kind of like maps with seas but.. with space instead. On this game don't ask me why, but the main game and the expansion are two separate things, or you are playing the main game or you are playing the expansion in this case he is playing the expansion.

I think mandalore gaming mentions it in his EE review!

I had the massive Gold Edition manual. Mannnnnnnn did I have to break into that thing before I could unlock my full potential in EE. I specifically remember this being the most complex game I played in early grade school lol
I didn't have any Tea last Thursday. I have failed the Empire.
Time for a visit to the self-flogging machine...
Empire Earth II has a ton more polish than this one.
Comparison of aspects you complained about:
- Path finding: 10/10
- Networking (with the community patch): 7/10.

And btw why are you playing the expansion and not the main game?
If i remember correctly the Expansion just adds the last few ages he did not even come close to touch so i dont realy think it matters here.
I grew up playing this game with my grandpa back in 2003/2004, I think it was my first video game.. Good times, but I always remember loving the space maps when I was a kid.), and new units for that age, among many other things, are from the expansion.
@@ThunderGuardian Im sorry if i offended you but i also have played this countless hours and a different main menue doesnt effect the gameplay in any way. Neither does age 15 if you dont get that far. Campaign also only effects anything while playing the campaign.
So all in all i dont feel like it would have Chance the Video if Spiff wouldnt have the Expansion installed.
On this game don't ask me why, but the main game and the expansion are two separate things, or you are playing the main game or you are playing the expansion in this case he is playing the expansion.
Both on the GOG digital version and on the CD version, you can't play the expansion on the main game either, but you can play a mix of the two in the expansion, a part of the main game and the addition of the stuff of the expansion.
And no you didn't offend me, thank you for worrying though.
