Very useful video. Just a question. Is there a footwork approach that avoid to do the small right foot movement ahead (I am a right thrower) and just do the left foot step toward the second base?
Doug and Ryan that is good stuff, Thanks to the both of you and Mr Madden. Do you guys have a transfer drill? Where should glove start and end up and what's the best place to throw from for best accuracy? Thanks again
From Doug.... Hey John, Ryan would always talk about 2 things for the transfer. 1. After you catch the ball, turn the glove so the back of your glove is facing the pitcher. 2. After you turn the glove, bring the glove toward your throwing hand. Now with your throwing hand go in your glove and grab the ball. Don’t worry about whether or not you are moving the glove or throwing hand too far, it doesn’t matter. What matters is getting a good grip. For the throw, get the ball to your ear as quick as possible then get on top and get backspin and good carry. The goal is to get a straight flying baseball. Good Luck. Hope all is well. Hope this helps. Talk soon, take care. Doug
What’s an average pop time for a college catcher? I’m always hearing 1.7s and1.8s but whenever I go to games and get the times it’s usually a low 1.9. Just what’s an average
Your videos are great thank you so much ⚾️⚾️⚾️👍👍👍👍

If you got big balls, a good arm, and can catch a ball you can be a catcher!
I play catcher but guys still because I can't make the accurate throw to second from home any tips?
