As to the vault boy prison sign, it could've been a privatized prison operated by Vault Tec. Chain gangs and large groups of possible test subjects would be a boon for them.
You missed an opportunity to see what happens if you wear a powder ganger outfit. Guy at the door says he doesn't recognize you, and has some unique dialogue.
I actually tried this, but in my game, he saw through my outfit and opened fire. The other inmates were peaceful while I wore the outfit, but Dawes and Eddie and Hannigan opened fire. The dialogue you mention must only happen if you wear the outfit while also being neutral with them.
Exactly, Dawes counts as a "Guard" NPC which allows him to look through your disguise. He will always be hostile to you when you are on bad terms with the Powder Gangers, no matter if you are disguised or not.
Vahlen I think so long as you’re not Vilified the disguise will work. Well, he knows you’re not really a Powder Ganger but he demands Caps to bribe your way past him. He says something along the lines of... “I know you’re not one of us, you gotta pay up if you want to get in.”
Thanks , I really like the way you tell the story . I become death incarnate for the PG since Good spring . Ambush them and kill on sight . The NCRCF becomes a sniper alley . From the hills in front of the prison I clear the towers and anything else that moves or still . Enter the prison dispatch the guard and the folks inside except Myers. I've never heard Eddie or the other cohorts speak until your video . The same fate for their camps , Vault etc .. My character came out of that grave with a thirst of vengeance . Thanks again for the videos , I enjoy them .
Fun note about the camp south of Jean Skydiving, that big truck that works as a wall to the south half of the road is still active! That means it's pretty easy to detonate using a laser pistol or a recharger rifle, either having a fairly high rate of fire early on. The resulting explosion will almost always detonate most of the powder charges and the dynamite on the table in the middle of the camp, killing the two gangers. It's a very fun trick to pull if you do it right.
damn that was my favourite character in the prision, when i did the riot he tried to attack me with a knife,i thought that if i pointed my gun at him and misfired some shots on purpouse we will surrender, well he didnt but at the end a NCR soldier killed him
I sided with the powder gangers on a chaotic wild play through once killing all major factions ncr , legion ,Mr house etc, I helped the powder gangers take goodspring , and defend the prison , idk why the powder gangers in primm attacked me cuz I could of helped them , and wish I could take over other place for the gang like novac, lamplight, Helios one, crimson caravan company outpost, nipton ,Nelson etc would of been cool to do it that lol
It's actually VERY common for prisons to have warnings about hitchhikers around them. I pass a prison on my way to work out in the middle of no where Idaho, and it has many of those warnings on the roads around them.
Seeing the vault boy on the prison sign about hitchhikers makes me think that some prisons did experiments just like the vaults did. Wouldn’t be surprised. The US experimented on their own soldiers didn’t they? (BOS) Edit: 13:08 I can definitely see that guy in a coffee shop in Seattle. Seems the type
Anyone else hate the mod Oxhorn's using for NCR troopers? Why the hell are they wearing olive green camo in the middle of a desert! Sure, it looks classic like it's from Saving Private Ryan, but it makes no sense and the troopers end up looking like idiots.
I like it better than most other NCR overhauls. All others make them either "tacticool" or too modern for my taste. I think this mod is better because it maintains the feel of the actual armor in the game, but it makes it so that they're helmets don't look completely stupid like I think they do in the base game. I also like olive green, so I have no problem with the colors, other than the stupidity.
When I played the game I sided with Goodsprings against Cobb, and killed every Powderganger I encountered on the way to the prison - and yet Dawes wasn't hostile. They let me into the prison and I could do the quests (though I didn't).
Interesting I never saw these quest lines. I always ended up clearing the prison myself. I wish the NCR did more to acknowledge that seeing as how they had plans to attack it themselves.
Oxhorn... I have seen a few of your videos now and really enjoy the lore history you give as you go into the missions and how you give the morality aspect of your choices and outcomes based upon ((what is moral to do)) you have a unique way to bring 'life' to the games: !GREAT CHARACTER IMMERSION! ~just subscribed~ ...and clicked the bell... HAVE A GREAT DAY!
Great video again Oxhorn, however at Jean skydiving. those aren't the first Star bottle cap and Weapon repair kit you can loot. the first star cap is in Goodsprings as you leave Doc Mitchells Clinic down the hill and its in the house on the left. The first weapon repair kit can be found also in Goodsprings located inside Victors shack :)
Regarding the two identical notes located in Chavez's camp and in Powder Ganger Camp North (PGCN), I think one camp made the observation that resources were drying up, decided to write two separate notes, both containing the same message, and then sent the notes out, one to Chavez and the other to PGCN. Great video by the way! Your excellent content earned my subscription, with interest, several months ago. Keep up the great work!
Oxhorn you used to be super highly moral and now you've gotten a darker sense of justice, wanting to kill people that threaten you and stuff. What have the wastes done to you? D:
But oxhorn! there are two sunset sarsaparilla star bottle caps in goodsprings, and a weapon repair kit in Victor's shack in goodsprings, also you can walk past the wild dogs without them attacking, similar to bighorner bulls they only attack if you walk right up to them
The PG don’t know what to do with me. I’ve killed a few including the ones that attacked Goodsprings. But I also saved some PG from being slaves by the legion so they tolerate me
It’s my first play though and my best weapons were a caravan shotgun, 357, and some dynamite. I used stealth boy in the main entrance and ignored that room then when I was outside picked off the tower guards and the prison guards then when I went to the main building used cars on the first guard, ran out the door and threw a dynamite down, then when the bottom level was clear I planted some mines on the staircase and closed the door which attracted the upstairs members(including Eddie) then proceeded in chucking dynamite at them every chance I got, and lured them outside with 20 health, no stimpaks, and threw 2 more Ryan imites finally killing Eddie. I died like 30 times but it was worth the effort. I didn’t realize I could sneak in by wearing powder ganger armor but fortunately I let meyers live and now I am trying to get him to become sheriff.
There is an actual prison on the outskirt of Jean. When I visited Goodsprings I asked about it and it's a woman's prison, though i was told its been empty for a while, still operational,
I went through the ncrcf the other day solo without any of the quests or affinity to the powder gangers and boy was it one hell of a fight at the early levels clearing that place out.
I always forget to stay neutral before going to the prison. :( I tried to get in with a powder ganger uniform but they still shot me. Oh well, guess I'll just mow them down with a minigun and Remnants power armor.
[The Wonderful Adventures of Preston Garvey] Quick Recap: The Legion fully invaded Diamond City. Legionary, Charles Gannon, had an idea to send suicide synths into the NCR camp that lies in the southern swamps, near Jamaica Plain. Episode Twenty-Eight: [The Castle] [7:30 AM] (Dr. John Dee sits in a chair, strapped in) John Dee: I've already told you! They want to take over Diamond City! Darren Miles: And now they have. What did they want with the city? John Dee: It was a great spot to set up another Legion outpost. Strong positioning as well. They were very strategically clever with what they did. Darren: I'm done with him. I'm gonna go get a drink. You can deal with him yourself. General: All right. Let's see here. John Dee. How was your time with the Enclave? John Dee: It was great. The best time of my life. General: And why did it end? John Dee: Because of the Brotherhood. It was a slaughter. We couldn't do anything. Instead of putting an end to me there, which is what they should've done, they took me back to the Citadel and held me prisoner for a year. I eventually escaped, I took a ferry to the Commonwealth, but guess who was already there? THE BROTHERHOOD! Preston: What's so bad about them? General: Did I give you permission to speak, Preston? Preston: No. But I'm not a Minuteman anymore. So what are you going to do about it? General: (Pulls out Kellogg's pistol) Really? Preston: I like cereal. General: What? Preston: Nothing. John Dee: When the Legion took me to Bunker Hill, they told me they were going to invade Diamond City and then attack the Castle. There! I told you. I have nothing to lose anyway. Preston: Well, you've got your life. John Dee: I have no life. It's been full of betrayal, science, and mentats. Preston: Mentats are bad for you. John Dee: OH REALLY?? Sorry. We are going to cut the episode SHORT. Should I make the episodes short or long? I understand some people like them more spanned out, and others like it short and sweet. Just tell me what you think! :)
Cappy oh oh oh maybe you can make the doctor switch sides over to the mm after all he is an the kind of man that would stab anyone in the back if it means joining someone stronger obviously after being promised a lab and such
Feels like giving him a turtle neck and an espresso 🤣 I can hear that guy saying in a whinny voice, "Oxhorn I'm a ganger now you're supposed to take me seriously," and stamping his foot.
You can finish Ghost Town Gunfight on the side of Goodsprings without totally wrecking Powder Ganger reputation. If you yourself don't kill any of the Powder Gangers during the gunfight and instead let the Townsfolk kill them your reputation will only drop to "Shunned".
Courier: "I used to a courier like you, then I took a bullet to the head."NCR Veteran: "I used to be an NCR soldier like you, then the I took a dynamite explosion to the legs."Powder Ganger: "I used to be a powder ganger like you, then the NCRCF was overrun by a courier... a courier! Oh, and I took a bullet to the knee."
I was actually able to complete the powder ganger quests after completing ghost town gunfight and becoming hostile with the powder gangers by sneaking into NCRCF wearing a powder ganger disguise and quickly entering dialogue with Eddie before he turns hostile. This only works for the ending where you side with the ncr though
Jean Sky diving is not where I usually get my first sunset star bottle cap or weapon repair kit. You can find a star bottle cap in one of the Goodsprings house, and Victor's shack has a weapon repair kit.
I loved the prison attack for sniping. The hill next to prison entrance gives brilliant elevation to just snipe every powder ganger in the yard and guard towers. They run around the yard like a headless chicken unable to find you.
Great Work Oxhorn, again. Just thumps up. Your words about the NCR at the end are my reason why i side with Yesman everytime i play a mostly good character. I like to bring the NCR to fame. Keeping the President alive etc but i think a Vegas which keeps care for itself is the best option.
Oxhorn there actually a way to defeat joe cob and still gain access to the Prison. If you do not kill any of the gang you will only get shunned but they will not attack you. This is what I did for my NCR playthrough.
At least 2 of the Goodsprings settlers homes have blue star bottle caps in them. You can pick them without stealing, at least in the X-box 360 version.
The NCRCF is actually a pretty good place to get lots of loot U just need a varmit rifle,a two handed melee weapon (baseball bat could do), leather armour and a few healing items. Go to one of the guard towers (I recommend the one with the stimpacks) and kill the guard on the tower before just sniping all of the powder gangers below taking cover every few secs or so just to heal. After that invade the cell block a and b (they are very easy) and just for the Warden's place just lure them out before killing them with some cover
Blackadder name drop...I love it. Just when I thought oxhorn couldn't get any cooler, he references blackadder, better known as THE FLANDERS PIGEON MURDERER!!!
Gonna guess you don't live near a prison. I'm like 20 minutes from the Litchfield Prison in CT (the real one, not the fictitious one from Orange is the New Black) and on every single street are "Do Not Stop: Hitchhikers May Be Escaping Prisoners" signs. And they don't play when it comes to that either. Had a friend breakdown inside the perimeter of those signs and the cops were all over him in minutes. Point is, I don't think it's indicative of poor security. More punitive warning to any hapless sap driving by.
i keep thinking "i'm out of ox videos to watch" and then i see a video on something and instantly become nostalgic and think "ive been wanting to know that for years!"
"We see Cell Block A, which the powder gangers have turned into a bunk house" No... that would be the NCR that did that. Went they made it a Cell Block
As to the vault boy prison sign, it could've been a privatized prison operated by Vault Tec. Chain gangs and large groups of possible test subjects would be a boon for them.
Jaerdin Spader
Huh. I never even considered why Vault-Boy was on those signs, interesting
Also if you look closely at the upper right of Hannigan's armor at 14:19 they have Vault-Tec logos on them
skywaylands I'm going to have to go back and look for that.
It could be from a mod he has installed
You may be right looking at vanilla Hannigan there is no emblem on his armor
Oxhorn you can also get trought the wall from the right side of the fence by sitting on the chair
Vahlen I think so long as you’re not Vilified the disguise will work. Well, he knows you’re not really a Powder Ganger but he demands Caps to bribe your way past him. He says something along the lines of...
“I know you’re not one of us, you gotta pay up if you want to get in.”

My character came out of that grave with a thirst of vengeance .
Thanks again for the videos , I enjoy them .
"It's important to buy these cards while we can, just in case he manages to... disappear from the world... for some reason."
Subtle.
"you won't live to collect that bounty"
"we'll see about that"
*goes down in one shot before he can draw his gun.*
Well this encounter was meant for characters who just got out of goodsprings.
*not fucking level 37 couriers*
was looking for this comment about that lol
Lol
“Texas had not cleared leather fore’ a bullet fairly ripped,
And the Ranger’s aim was deadly with the big iron on his hip...”
I've been a farmhand, a bouncer, a bandit and an NCR trooper. I dont recommend any of them
The best character is your own person in this game. And an Independent Vegas ending.
damn that was my favourite character in the prision, when i did the riot he tried to attack me with a knife,i thought that if i pointed my gun at him and misfired some shots on purpouse we will surrender, well he didnt but at the end a NCR soldier killed him

Your first star bottle cap can actually be found in Goodsprings in the school next to a terminal I believe
There's also one is sunnys house.
There’s also one in a house near the gas station with a sneak skill book
Yall know there's a wiki page that has all the locations.
Chill
We owe you
Perfect spot for a prison riot
Louis Yeh Yeh omg
Im the 900 like
Louis Yeh Yeah I just shot everyone. I've been here!
Wow.
Also a perfect spot for a mirelurk farm
It's actually VERY common for prisons to have warnings about hitchhikers around them. I pass a prison on my way to work out in the middle of no where Idaho, and it has many of those warnings on the roads around them.
"i feel like i should give this guy a turtle neck and a espresso"
23:59 "You won't live to collect that bounty." Yeah no kidding, the man didn't even have enough time to unholster his firearm.
Seeing the vault boy on the prison sign about hitchhikers makes me think that some prisons did experiments just like the vaults did. Wouldn’t be surprised. The US experimented on their own soldiers didn’t they? (BOS)
Edit: 13:08 I can definitely see that guy in a coffee shop in Seattle. Seems the type
New Vegas is so damn atmospheric
Hell yesssss!!!
Baaaaah the ring leader of the Powder Gangers is always Cooke-ing up trouble!
And gotta love the ending. Hahaha love ya, Ox!!
the sound of the Mysterious Pistol being drawn
Aahhhh, so satisfying
Omg, i'm so glad I stuck around past the outro for once! That blooper was hilarious
Anyone else hate the mod Oxhorn's using for NCR troopers? Why the hell are they wearing olive green camo in the middle of a desert! Sure, it looks classic like it's from Saving Private Ryan, but it makes no sense and the troopers end up looking like idiots.
dragbodys ncr overhaul
It was a jest from developers. The grey Pixel garbage did not work in Iraq or afghanistn
christopher allsopp it did.
I like it better than most other NCR overhauls. All others make them either "tacticool" or too modern for my taste. christopher allsopp UCP camo was awful.
I’m so happy you’re doing New Vegas lore again
Oxhorn is the unofficial strategy guide to Fallout with how thorough he is with his videos
Nothing better then a after work blunt & ah oxhorn episode
When I played the game I sided with Goodsprings against Cobb, and killed every Powderganger I encountered on the way to the prison - and yet Dawes wasn't hostile. They let me into the prison and I could do the quests (though I didn't).
Powder Gangers are worth so much more dead than alive, their Dynamite alone makes good caps.
Most of the roads that pass D.O.C, or "prisons" in the US have the don't pick up hitchhikers signs it's a common thing
I loved the blooper at the end. Best laugh I've had all week! Thank you so much.
Hoorah, just in time for my birthday! Thanks for the quality content Oxhorn!
12:10 I'm rather impressed by your reference to Blackadder, mate.
Keep up the good work !
That blooper at the end though... I've had crap like that happen to me while studying or writing papers so many times...
Great amount of information about the Powder Gangers. Also that blooper at the end was great.
That sprint mod is awesome
Interesting I never saw these quest lines. I always ended up clearing the prison myself. I wish the NCR did more to acknowledge that seeing as how they had plans to attack it themselves.
I usually have Ed-e and Boone with me when I get there.
That bit at the end with your phone about killed me!!!
Oxhorn...
I have seen a few of your videos now and really enjoy the lore history you give as you go into the missions and how you give the morality aspect of your choices and outcomes based upon ((what is moral to do)) you have a unique way to bring 'life' to the games:

hahah turtle neck and espresso.... seems like that guy did belong in seattle haha
Great video again Oxhorn, however at Jean skydiving. those aren't the first Star bottle cap and Weapon repair kit you can loot. the first star cap is in Goodsprings as you leave Doc Mitchells Clinic down the hill and its in the house on the left. The ending made my day! Thanks for the laughs, Oxhorn!! 😂🤣
Stereotypes trigger me but that turtle neck and an espresso put a smile on my face thanks ox ☺️
Oxhorn you used to be super highly moral and now you've gotten a darker sense of justice, wanting to kill people that threaten you and stuff.
What have the wastes done to you? D:

By the way I play unmodded ultimate edition on steam, so there's nothing that would change my game
Ikr I was about to say the same thing and if you wait 24 hours after you get the first one malcom holmes spawns and you can kill him for 6 more
Ya found first there also, plus bunch sunset in crates so good chance to find more.
Ded2thaworld ! Yep
BLAAAAAAAAAACK ADDDER!
BLACK ADDER!
11:46 The phrase "I Fought the Law" is a reference to a song of the same name by the British band the Clash.
" Breaking rocks in the hot sun, I fought the Law and the Law won".
The PG don’t know what to do with me. I’ve killed a few including the ones that attacked Goodsprings. But I also saved some PG from being slaves by the legion so they tolerate me
There are signs saying not to pick up hitchhikers on roads around prisons in the real world has well.
I just can't get enough of these videos
This is such a cool series Ox, thanks! Really helps when I wake up at 6 AM on accident and have a couple hours to burn till day light
15:58 That guitar rift tho. Must get that revolver.
Or you can enter the prison by wearing a power gangster outfit .
Only works if you have neutral karma. Otherwise the quest-givers, merchants, and other named gangers attack.
I see what you did there!
Power Gangster? Are you Johnson Nash?
(ง ͠° ͟ل͜ ͡°)ง
It’s my first play though and my best weapons were a caravan shotgun, 357, and some dynamite. Hey Oxhorn. Love the blooper at the end. Keep up the great work.
Somehow, I never realized that those were the Crimson Caravan guards and brahmin in the road.
I love the ending!😂
OH MY GOSH!!!
Text message...text message never changes.
There is an actual prison on the outskirt of Jean. When I visited Goodsprings I asked about it and it's a woman's prison, though i was told its been empty for a while, still operational,
DO MORE BLOOPERS PLEASE!!!
I went through the ncrcf the other day solo without any of the quests or affinity to the powder gangers and boy was it one hell of a fight at the early levels clearing that place out.
Good afternoon Ox. Hope you're having a good one.
I woke up at 9 am just to watch this on one of my two days off of school
FYI every "correctional" facility I've come across has "do not pick-up hitchhikers" signage.
I'm foaming at the mouth for tomorrow's episode. Watch out for the deathclaws up north.
I always forget to stay neutral before going to the prison. :(
I tried to get in with a powder ganger uniform but they still shot me.
Oh well, guess I'll just mow them down with a minigun and Remnants power armor.
[The Wonderful Adventures of Preston Garvey]
Quick Recap: The Legion fully invaded Diamond City. Legionary, Charles Gannon, had an idea to send suicide synths into the NCR camp that lies in the southern swamps, near Jamaica Plain.
Episode Twenty-Eight:
[The Castle]
[7:30 AM]
(Dr. John Dee sits in a chair, strapped in)
John Dee: I've already told you! They want to take over Diamond City!
Darren Miles: And now they have. What did they want with the city?
John Dee: It was a great spot to set up another Legion outpost. Strong positioning as well. They were very strategically clever with what they did.

longer always great episode
Mr. Minuteman
Season 2 boi.
Cappy oh oh oh maybe you can make the doctor switch sides over to the mm after all he is an the kind of man that would stab anyone in the back if it means joining someone stronger obviously after being promised a lab and such
really loving the series Cappy, keep it up
Great job on the stories, but this one was a little odd
Feels like giving him a turtle neck and an espresso 🤣 I can hear that guy saying in a whinny voice, "Oxhorn I'm a ganger now you're supposed to take me seriously," and stamping his foot.
You find your first sunset sarsaparilla star bottle cap in a goodsprings home not their.
Sgt. Lee... a pun of that magnitude is a court marshalable offense.
Glad you mentioned Blackadder! Great show!
You can finish Ghost Town Gunfight on the side of Goodsprings without totally wrecking Powder Ganger reputation.
If you yourself don't kill any of the Powder Gangers during the gunfight and instead let the Townsfolk kill them your reputation will only drop to "Shunned".

Oh, and I took a bullet to the knee."
I know this was 4 years ago, but that was painfully unfunny. 😬
Never knew there are so much stories behind these gangs...
I really like the "theme" that plays so often in Fallout: New Vegas.
I just walked in guns blazing, I didn’t even think twice because I gained karma when I killed them, after watching this my actions are justified
"you won't live to collect that bounty"
"We'll see about that "
Gets sent to jesus
Lt. Hayes... you sound suspiciously like Motor-Runner....
Jean Sky diving is not where I usually get my first sunset star bottle cap or weapon repair kit. You can find a star bottle cap in one of the Goodsprings house, and Victor's shack has a weapon repair kit.
Even though I already know what happens I still like to watch his videos because he just makes it so interesting and entertaining!
Black Adder reference .... Oxhorn has a cunning plan!!!
The blooper is hilarious lol
I loved the prison attack for sniping. The hill next to prison entrance gives brilliant elevation to just snipe every powder ganger in the yard and guard towers. They run around the yard like a headless chicken unable to find you.
lol great video. love that little blooper at the end
There is a weapon repair kit in good springs
Great Work Oxhorn, again. Just thumps up.
Your words about the NCR at the end are my reason why i side with Yesman everytime i play a mostly good character. I like to bring the NCR to fame. Keeping the President alive etc but i think a Vegas which keeps care for itself is the best option.
Your my favorite TH-camr for fallout 4
Oxhorn there actually a way to defeat joe cob and still gain access to the Prison. If you do not kill any of the gang you will only get shunned but they will not attack you. This is what I did for my NCR playthrough.
I'm a bad person, sitting here and hoping Oxhorn does his videos with his phone left on again. That snippet at the end was bloody priceless.
Love to see these fallout nv posts!
Loving the new Vegas week
These days I think you should do a profile on the NCR.
András Györgyi I agree starting with shady sands to the integration of the desert rangers
You can see the Vault Tec logo on the Powder Ganger armor. I'm guessing the Prison was ran by Vault-Tec before the bombs fell.
i keep thinking "i'm out of ox videos to watch" and then i see a video on something and instantly become nostalgic and think "ive been wanting to know that for years!"
38:25 Look at Raul just creeping on Hayes lol
I really enjoy the political commentary on Prisons Obsidian put in this game
Oxhorn, your aim is getting good! :)
Can't wait to see you take on the Deathclaw camp.
"We see Cell Block A, which the powder gangers have turned into a bunk house"
No... that would be the NCR that did that. Went they made it a Cell Block
37:32 “from the fidg”
I never heard of a fidg before wondering what it taste like 😂
13:10 Exactly my thoughts when i saw him earlier in your video
hahahahah "Turtle neck and an espresso" killed me
