When you get to the concert videos in the 2000s, you HAVE to watch the little skits that Rush played before the show, before the second half and at the end. You will see their sense of humor and how utterly insane Alex is!!
And those clips of 2 songs that were not muted are from their 1993 album, 'Counterparts.' They are "Nobody's Hero" and "Stick It Out."

  • @rexipexi

This was a great clip! Now you have some other Canadian bands to check out.
    Tom Cochrane and Red Rider
    Lunatic Fringe
    White Hot
The Tragically Hip or as we say in Canada The Hip
    New Orleans is Sinking
    Blow at High dough
    The BareNaked Ladies
    Pinch Me
    The old Apartment
They are the band that wrote and sang the theme for The Big Band Theory
There's a reason Alex goes last when it comes to speeches LOL
You have to their RRHOF induction
The Foo Fighters inducted them which is hilarious and then the speeches. Alex's speech is priceless!! 🤣🤣

That is Tom Cochrane introducing Rush. Tom had a big hit - Life is a Highway but better yet he was a part of an amazing 80's band Red Rider. They had a big hit called Lunatic Fringe, however they had so many great songs. Hope to see a reaction to some of their songs one day.

Of all 'modern' Rush albums think you'll like Counterparts 93' the most. It's heavier, the guitar and bass are stripped down, loud and very front center again... post Power Windows ( and everything before, my youth), Counterparts is my favorite.

I was excited by the thumbnail for this video because I recognized it. This is clearly not that. I actually never saw this one before, but the thumbnail is from a far better acceptance speech by Alex. I really hope you get around to checking it out. Also the songs you didn’t recognize were from Roll the Bones and, my favorite Rush album, Counterparts. Very much enjoying your Rush journey, though. I check in every day.

Although I still get chills when the director (Jann Wenner) of the RRHOF is reading the list of inductees and he says "And from Toronto....". I'll stop there, because it's pretty frickin awesome!!!

Those heavier songs were from 1993’s Counterparts, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts and remained their highest charting album ever until their 2012 Clockwork Angels cd which ALSO debuted at #2! That’s another thing that is remarkable about Rush, as popular and as many albums that they have sold have never had a #1 album, or single, AND REALLY REMARKABLE was their last studio release of new material in their career was a #2 seller in a time of music streaming and really low sales of physical copies AND from a band that’s been around for 40+ years!!! Can the Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Floyd or Lynyrd Skynyrd say that?🤘✌️🖖👌👍

That moment when Neil talked about the health of their families really got to me, knowing what was going to transpire. And Alex's second 'Hall of Fame' speech is so much better than this one. And yes, Justin, you're in for some fun with 'Stick It Out' and 'Roll the Bones' (song) will knock your socks off.

Justin. I love the reaction. Bottom line great musicians, great people that stayed true to themselves. Never sold out, always remained humble and went out on top in 2015! One farewell tour….not 6! I’m so glad you are going on this journey. It makes me smile to see Rush larger then ever after all these years. I think you know why they are so loved.

As I believe I said in a previous comment, you're getting ready to go into a much heavier phase of Rush. The next three studio albums, Presto, Roll the Bones, and Counterparts where a change in their musical direction. The songs were thicker and heavier and not so smothered in keyboards. Now don't get me wrong I really liked the keyboard phase, with the exception of HYF. And like you, I felt it went a little too adult contemporary. So, when you get to these albums next, all your questions will be addressed. I can't wait. I think you're ready going to like them. But until then, I'll be tuning in for your reactions of the songs from A Show of Hands. 😎☮️

Thank you, with this channel, for helping to introduce more people to the music of Rush. Their music has been an enhancing part of 5 of the 6 decades of my life and I am jazzed that influence may live on in other newbies to the Rush sphere. The best thing for me in attending Rush shows in the 2000's was the number of dads(and yes, some moms) with their kids at the show. When I heard my daughter singing the lyrics to a few songs in the last show we saw, part of me felt 'my work is done'. Always great to see them formally recognized!

LOL "a computer fan network" -- that's what they called Internet forums before they had a name. Interesting tribute, sort of a precursor to the Beyond the Lighted Stage doc. All the tributes were sure a walk down 90's memory lane. That song at 14:35 is off of Counterparts. Like we've been saying -- better things ahead, bro.

So you troll us with a picture from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame acceptance speech? :) You funny man!
Interesting how much Ben Mink and Ray Danniels sound similar to Alex in how they speak. Yes, Canadian/Torontoistic lingo/rhythms. See if any of them say aboot...
I appreciate seeing some things I've not seen before and always enjoy Alex's humor. :)
    Thanks Justin! :)
Ok, as a p.s. do you recall the money you've spent and regretted it? That you didn't get your money's worth? I have no regrets at all for any Rush music, concerts or videos or the time I still spend listening and enjoying their music all these years later and having others around to share it with is so much fun too. :)

You're becoming a Rush fan, eh? There's lots you haven't heard yet. You're just pulling with them out of this phase.
Have you checked out Count Floyd, Johnny LaRue, and one of the guys in this video on SCTV yet? I promise you'll laugh!
