What's impressive is that Shakh might have drawn this endgame against Stockfish, but among all the possible options on move 48, Alireza played the one where Black had to find an only move that wasn't at all obvious. Giri tweeted he hasn't seen a position like that and said it's hard. Shank didn't find the move. Even Alireza said in the interview right after the game that he thought that move was winning for him. Yet the whole internet (youtube chat, lichess chat,...) was screaming Rf3 and that it's an easy move. Lol. Maybe it's easy on depth 5 where we operate, but calculating all the lines on bogger depth for 2700+ is not that easy... what if white does not trade? What if this and what if that in all the sub-lines?
Also.. if Alireza thought that the trade would be winning for him, Shakh simply believed him in the end... psychology under pressure...

13:35 Kinda sad that you didn't explain this "well-known draw" that I had never seen before. With any other pawns anywhere else on the board this would be completely winning for white, and even in this situation you need to see that black can stop the passed pawn then grab opposition again, that black can grab the f2 pawn and promote in time to defend if white tries to drag the black king outside of the square of the passed pawn, that black can always move to g4 at the right time to cut off h3 and white has no way to pass a move here, and that at no point does a pawn move change any of this. For that matter, if the passed pawn weren't in those 2 edge files this would also be winning. I get that these videos are long, but this hypothetical wasn't a simple position, either.
