Thanks for the video, Brock! The biggest advantage to having a minimal wardrobe for me is being able to spend more on a few higher quality items rather than having a closet full of cheaper, less quality items.
I usually wore Black, White and Grey but last fall decided that I was done with that and wanted to go with more earth tones. I like the style you propose and thanks to your videos I am in the process of doing an wardrobe overhaul. Thanks for all of your work!
The first thing to stay minimal in pants collection is to stay basics for the shoes, cz sometimes, my only reason for buying certain pants, is to matching with my shoes collection. My minimalist pants collection would be: 1. Cream chino 2. Olive chino 3. Black jeans 4. Dark washed jeans 5. Charcoal trouser 6. Tartan relax pants Shoes 1. Brown laced up boots 2. White vans slip on 3. Black chelsea boots
Good stuff! Tthis is what I have for my minimal pant collection, 1. Black skinny jeans (this are my everyday choice, and most days I am wearing them 2. Dark-wash slim jeans (could have gone for a ligther wash, but I just prefer to wear dark bottoms in general) 3. Wool grey trousers (for dressing a bit smarter, even though I don't really need it) 4. Black chino shorts It suits me just fine. Bear in my mind that I am 22-year old who works in a very casual enviroment, though.
I have been simplifying my wardrobe for a while now and this is exactly what I have done...I gave away so many shirts to a friend that I bought and never wore...tons of space in my closet now...I have 2 pairs of jeans now, not 10 like I used to have....it makes getting dressed so easy...this video is great...can't wait to watch more of them.
Wow, this video sheds so much light! I just bought burgundy chinos yesterday 😁 and I was thinking on what I’d pair w/ other than white, black, and tan. Thank you sir!
Great vid! I liked the way you presented the options and suggested picking 1 or 2. It helped narrowing down the possibilities right away! Congrats, great content/channel.
Will use this wonderful presentation when choosing the trousers to tailor. Finishing up an ivory/light tan chino and because of your previous presentation, an olive chino is next. One can not have enough grey pants, especially flannel. Didn't know until have a pair and now my go to if can't decide on kaki, brown, or navy.
Really helpful video! I have the khaki chinos, navy chinos, dark jeans and light jeans but only black dress pants from my stupid youth when I bought black everything, including a black suit (of course...). Will probably pick up some grey dress pants this summer so I have them ready for fall.
@@freakyferret8308 It’s not the most versatile. If you’re graduating from Swedish version of secondary school (gymnasiet) the tradition is to wear black. You can wear that suit on weddings and funerals too, when having nice accessories is inappropriate (you don’t want to steal attention from the wedding couple and you want to look subdued during a time of mourning). If you also want to wear your suit with accessories and when you’re not at a formal event then don’t go with black. Black can’t be color coordinated and thus accessories look odd. If you’re at a New Year’s or birthday party and want some colorful, fun accessories with your suit the black one looks way off. A darker navy suit or a charcoal suit can both be worn to graduations, weddings, and funerals too in addition to more casual events where you want to experiment with some color. They are way more versatile. People are telling you to buy black simply because that’s tradition. I listened to tyat advice too when I was a young Swede and I regret it.

havent watched it but damn, just bought 2 chinos on monday, lets see if i did the right choice lol edit: thank god, i did. Great vid Brock, as always! and love the new look!
i can't let go of anything in my closet :/. i have everything nice and organized between summer/winter and fall/sping. i haven't bought any additional pieces in over a year now so that for me is an achievement
Hello Brock, the question I am about to ask is not really related to the video, but I'd like to hear your opinion on the Tag Heuer CAH1110 watch. Not as a watch though, but as an accessory for styling. Thanks!
I live in Hawaii and if minimalism was a competition, I see a guy in downtown with just shorts, a t shirt and a blanket - he might win. Oddly enough, he has some cash to buy beer every so often. He does crazy shadow boxing in the windows of the neighborhood businesses in the evening.
I wanted to ask about fit, specifically in the ankle openings. I've been sent several pants (from stitch fix) with 7.5" ankle openings (32" waist). The PM dark jeans linked above mentioned a 7.xx" ankle opening, which to my eyes I don't think I've seen anything like that on you. What is the typical ankle opening width you find on your jeans and chinos and how do you feel about the range of variations in what you wear and what you encounter?
@@BrockMcGoff thanks! I came to the same conclusion after more shopping around and found some other brands with 6.5" ankle opening for a 32 waist. Thanks for the confirmation!
I’m 5’ 4”. Any idea who sells joggers, specifically chino joggers, with shorter lengths? I don’t want to have to spend the money to get them altered. Preferably with functional button and zippers. Oh and not looking to spend a lot of money on them either. H&M prices would be ideal. Thanks!
The Modest Man Basically Chinos or Khakis with an elastic band at the ankle. I’ve bought some from H&M and recently some from Amazon Essentials, Just too long for my taste.

The Modest Man hey Brock, how long did it take to grow your hair to how it is in this video?
Very curious why you skipped on black colored bottoms?
Now we need a minimalist jacket collection to close the trilogy 😎
More on the way...
Brock honestly has the single best taste on jackets and an eye for pairing them flawlessly
It's called a peacoat
And shoes, to make it a series
Thanks for the video, Brock! The biggest advantage to having a minimal wardrobe for me is being able to spend more on a few higher quality items rather than having a closet full of cheaper, less quality items.
Excellent point!
minimal shoes and watch collection next please!
Shoes coming soon!

The perfect number of watches that combine versatility and minimalism is 3. That will always be the number.
No watch at all. Everyone has a mobile to check the time.

I really like your style .. it’s the one I relate to the most out of all the men’s wear YT’ers
Incredibly useful video. Loved the insight on minimalist ideas!
This will be a huge help for an HR professional in the Philippines like me.
Thanks Brock!
You've done a similar video before, but you included swim trunks and sweats now, nice touch.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how killer your hair looks in this video? Almost as nice as mine!
