1. Wear clothes that fit well 2. Wear dark, solid colors 3. Wear low contrast outfits - no clashing colors or shades 4. Wear small-scale patterns 5. Avoid low-rise pants 6. Tuck your shirt in 7. Wear no break pants (not bunching up at the ankles) 8. Wear accessories proportionate to your size/body type 9. Avoid bulky outerwear 10. Wear boots
Some additional tips: Fix your posture. This should go without saying yet most people have very poor standing and sitting posture. You will literally become taller and look much healthier/attractive. As shorter dudes, practicing proper posture is usually a lot easier for us. Stand/sit up straight, shoulders back, head level and on top of your spine. Do it for the rest of your life. Try shirt stays. They keep your shirt tucked in and flat against your body. Combines extremely well with the next tip. Give braces (suspenders) a go instead of belts with your dress clothes. Brock is absolutely right about the benefits of a higher rise but since we're dudes and have a very low waist to hip ratio, gravity simply doesn't allow us to keep our pants at such a height, even with side-tabs or a belt. Belts also cut you in half horizontally and visually lower your rise since they cover the top of your trousers. Suspenders do the opposite; In fact, they are visually lengthening due to their vertical lines. They keep the top of the pants at the slimmest point of the torso (navel) without cinching them, while making them drape a lot better and reducing pocket flare (especially if you have pleats). The result is a high rise that makes your hips and waist look at slim as possible. Braces are also much more comfortable and have the benefit of keeping your shirt pressed against you, especially at the back, which is slimming. I would recommend button braces on the inner waistband and ideally remove the belt loops. Dress shirts (tall collars) or turtlenecks are great for being drawing the eye up and framing the face. cheers

You helped me a lot , I remember I learned to not wear contrasting colors, so I stuck to dark Black clothes in college. It worked out great , man.. time fliess... Bravo! You’re one of the few people who encourages mid to high rise pants and tucking in shirts to improve one’s height perception. As a 60 year old who is 60, I’ve done these two “tricks” for many years.
The last part of the video about being comfortable and confident with your height is so bang on point. I am 33 now, and i have'nt added an inch to 5'5" in the last 20 yrs. For most of my teenage and young life i was concerned about my height. Underconfident as well. But eventually as you grow you start accepting your height and your career achievements and growth as a person become lot more attractive portions of your personality. But one must keep making effort on body and grooming as it makes you feel a lot good about yourself. The self confidence follows. The tips in the video are so good and i will definitely work towards following them. Being lazy is not good. Work towards overall self grooming and everything else follows.

I am 5'7" without shoes and this video was bliss. I started following Brock's idea of fit and dressing style and honestly, it helped me to get good compliments from my colleagues and friends. The best part of that video was related to contrast, as I was unaware of the fact that we should avoid contrast in dressing. Thanks for the point. I am actually looking for you to make a video on colour selection for the dark & dusky skins. It would be really helpful for people from different skin tones to try out different colours apart from the basic colours. Thanks again!
It's very difficult to accept being short, if that's the way you feel. Counterintuitively, what works much better is to accept that you'll probably never accept being short. This is much easier and more effective than trying to force yourself to stop being insecure about something, and oddly enough it can actually make you feel more confident and at ease.
I'm just slightly below 6ft tall too....and notice that I'm generally the tallest guy in the room. Generally. Still want to be a little taller though. It's funny that you can be obviously taller than everyone but not be considered "tall" by many people. Basically if you're 5'9 - 6ft you're often considered average, even if you're above average. Don't get considered "tall" until you hit 6ft 1in +.
Thank you for this video! I have been personally loving oversized clothes but the point about wearing fitted clothes and wearing darker clothes really is so true and makes sense to look taller. It's all about altering the perceptions to make us appear as stream lined as possible :D

Started the process of figuring out fashion at the start start of this year (better late than never) and I have to say these videos helped me a lot since I was finally able to buy nice fitting clothes instead of hiding fat with baggy clothes which was even worse being a short 5' 6" guy, had no fashion sense at all. Rebuilt my entire wardrobe during the past 6 months or so and I just donated a ton of my old stuff away and tried my old clothes again for the last time and I'm so glad I got out of that style. I don't feel like people are laughing at me anymore when they look at me, I feel really confident. Thank you and many of the other male fashion channels

I've been fit and muscularly lean, but 5'4" "on a good day." Now a senior, I barely tick 5'3", and medical issues have loosened my abs and scoliosis shortens my upper torso. For suitcoats, a 34 short is more my size, and generally, any shirt or jacket too long, that hangs down to the crotch, exaggerates shortness. Proportionate clothing avoids the looseness which broadcasts a small person, who is shrinking inside their outfit as we watch! Unfortunately for me a tucked shirt can highlight my torso imbalance, but darker shirts and pants help reduce the Ed Grimley effect of beltline at nipple height. Attitude adjustment is essential, with aging, but holding one's head up, and looking people squarely in the eye can elevate your mood and self-perception. Think positively about every interaction, and focus on the other person, not yourself; project interest in them, what they're saying to you, genuinely, and your self-consciousness will slip away. One doesn't need to dress up, but even your casual appearance creates an impression, regarding a sense of respect for others, and that you care about how you present yourself to them.
I’m glad menswear style has been slim and tailored these past few years. Can’t go wrong with that silhouette as it’s always flattering for more years to come.

Great video! I might also add to wear turtlenecks (very popular right now) in proportion - shorter turtleneck or even chose a mock turtleneck if you are a bit on the shorter side.
Great video Brock most of the tips were spot on👌🏻. I just love the transitions and the visuals🎭 that you added in your videos🎬. Keep up the good work. 😉
Thank you for the helpful video. These tips work for girls too! It's all about proportions. As a 5ft1 female I find myself looking better in medium height shoes (less than 2.5 inches) than high heels because those they don't make it looks like I'm struggling trying to look taller by standing on the tips of my toes. Medium-rise and high-rise bottoms are a must. Dressing in low contrast and stay away from big, bold patterns. And of course, exercise and eat healthy! Even as a woman it gets better as you age. I dressed like a clown in my 20s, full of insecurities and barely get any attention from guys at all. Now in my 30s I get compliments all the time 😂😂😂
Here are some bonus ones).. 1. Posture: learning to stand up right with your head high and not chunched back with your neck extended like alot of people are would make you look your height as opposed to shortening you. 2. Hair: lift your hair up and give it volume if possible, this should make you deceptively taller than you actually are - they're practically high heels but for your head 😄. 3. Shoes: there are shoes now that are basically high heels for men that would give you around 7 cm in height while looking like just any regular shoes, if people are not familiar with them they wouldn't even notice; it's that discreet!
I kissed the screen in the end and subscribed your channel also cz you said right dont waste time on that this which we can’t control the thing which we can control we should work on it and get suceed
I'm a fraction under 6ft and some of my friends who are 5'6" - 5'7" can on occasion look about the same height as myself just by wearing boots with a slight heal and have their hair brushed in a certain way that adds about 4 - 5 inches of height that looks completely convincing.
Generally great video, but I wish you also covered off cases such as having knock knees or being bow legged which really inhibits how slim fit one can go with pants. Theres other issues such has narrow shoulders but wider hips etc. A video about such cases would be nice.
I love how this starts out with accepting yourself

I am 194 cm tall and I have no idea how and why I finished watching this but still was useful tho when he talked about shadows and colors.
At your height you might be trying not to appear like a Giant. 😂😂
Great job, thanks bud 😎
I'm the same height and weight as you and I love my little body. When I was young not so much but now I really do appreciate it.
The wool coat ensemble was my favourite.
Wow! This channel is really a gold mine and I'm so happy i came upon this video. I'll probably binge watch all of the videos now😅
Great video brother and great effort, Love to you from Cairo,Egypt.
Now in my 30s I get compliments all the time 😂😂😂
Make more videos like this sort its realy needed for every short guys n thank u 4 this video buddy.
That’s what you call “True confidence” , thanks.
Whoa you look great in the outfits!
Well said my dear, your right on point 👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🧡
Man I hope I’m as trendy as you when I’m in my 40s too ! Good advice!!!!
One of your best videos!!
Thank you so much man. Till the time I was making all these mistakes but not now.
I'm a fraction under 6ft and some of my friends who are 5'6" - 5'7" can on occasion look about the same height as myself just by wearing boots with a slight heal and have their hair brushed in a certain way that adds about 4 - 5 inches of height that looks completely convincing.
I know men who are 6'4 that wear 4 inch shoe lifts.
Excellent video Brock! I love your channel and keep up the great work!
Generally great video, but I wish you also covered off cases such as having knock knees or being bow legged which really inhibits how slim fit one can go with pants.
Theres other issues such has narrow shoulders but wider hips etc. A video about such cases would be nice.
