    Greetings Noa(h), let me begin by thanking you for the videos. Now my question, you did not make a video combining all three concepts did you? If you did not my question is why? combined with a request of making it. You are possibly the only person I have ever heard talking about all this stuff in that much detail which was so easy to follow. Thanks regardless.
    Peace

    Thank you so much man! So outside the best is 250 - 500 exposure time. And inside with normal room light lower at 8 or 30 - 60 ? And what is the best for in the night outside? 😅

    If my understanding is correct for in focus and crisp sports action films slow shutter speed but change the F stop to compensate though it will effect depth of field.

    Hey Noah, not sure if you have done the video where you explain how all 3 work together in the end + i was wondering if you could explain how shutter speed works for motion picture, i'm a bit confused with how fps/shutter angle interfere with exposure (moreover i think the bolex as a specific angle that needs some adjustments when setting everything properly ?) still trying to figure everything out in order to work properly when it will be time. Thanks again for your channel ! It's really helpful + i like your atmosphere.

    • @AnalogResurgence
      @AnalogResurgence  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In a cinema camera the shutter angle equates to a shutter speed value that were used to from a photography camera. You can use this for determining exposure! Many cameras have a shutter angle of 180 degrees or 160 degrees and changing the fps results in frames being exposed for longer even though you aren't changing the shutter. There's an equation for determining what the shutter speed is:
      Exposure Time = (fps x 360)/(Shutter Opening)
      For 180º shutter, the Exposure Time is 48 or 1/48th of a second
      For 130º shutter, the Exposure Time is 65 or 1/65th of a second
      And here's a great explanation in regards to the bolex: tfma.temple.edu/sites/tfma/files/site-pdfs/bolex_quick_reference_ADA.pdf

    I’ve got a vintage Kodak Instamatic M2 super 8mm movie camera where the exposure control is all manual. I’m trying to find out the usual shutter speed for super 8 cameras so I’ll know what exposure number to set the control to.

    I know I'm late to finding this video but I have the same Canon tlb, I have trouble getting proper exposures on bright days due to the max Shutter speed of 500 and the lowest iso film of 200 which is available my country. Any advice for getting better exposures on a bright sunny day with this camera? Thank you

    • @AnalogResurgence
      @AnalogResurgence  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can also adjust the aperture of your lens which will allow for more or less light as well! The aperture is controlled with a ring on the lens usually behind the focus ring.

    great channel.
    Question on this topic: my 35mm analog camera - Minolta X-600- does NOT have a shutter speed setting. Have you seen this before?

    • @AnalogResurgence
      @AnalogResurgence  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not personally, but it probably has a different kind of dial to adjust the shutter speed somewhere by the shutter button. You'll likely find an answer in a video like this or by searching for the specific manual online.

    Is it possible to do long exposure on a film camera that has automated shutter speed? I can control the aperture and ISO but the shutter speed is "Auto" "B" or "100x1?" Thanks!

    • @AnalogResurgence
      @AnalogResurgence  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      B will allow you to have the shutter stay open for as long you hold down the shutter button (or us a shutter cable). You can do long exposures that way!

    Is the slightly bigger number than double when going from 1/60s to 1/125s only for convenience or is there another reason for that?

    What is the shutter speed for an 8mm camera ( double eight) with 16 frames pers second.
    I heard it is 1/30? But don’t understand why? Doesn’t it has to be 1/15 cause it’s the 16th part of an second?

    • @AnalogResurgence
      @AnalogResurgence  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The framerate of the camera and the shutter speed are different! The film is moving at16fps and the shutter is open for 1/30th of a second.
