Great video, I still have tapes from back in the 80's and I still play them. Don't worry about the tape that looks messed up it's fine, just wind it up with a pen or pencil.
Most likely the take-up spool stopped rotating taking up the tape but the capstan continued to rotate, if you could get a new old stock REVOX DCC900 cassette deck you can play analogue tapes as well as the Digital Compact Cassettes at 44150KHZ/48000KHZ/96000 KHZ sample rates.
When i was just a baby casettes were the default version, and a few years later CDs were the expensive version but still casettes more popular. I remember getting "Spice" by spice girls as CD and knowing it would have been way more expensive than the casette and feeling very happy and thankful to my parents for the gift. I had a walkman and i used it ALL THE TIME. So this, still feels weird and nostalgic that someone is still buying casettes? Do you listen to them? I am just curious why are you collecting them? Kind regards!! BTW i am 33
@@spiceupyourlife7755 That is a fine answer but i asked her, are you her? no? move along then. Or are you asking me? IDK. Thats why I asked. Also, in my first comment there was not a single hint of criticism. Leave to people to twist every single comment on the internet and make an agressive answer.
She mentions at the beginning that she collects them mostly for the aesthetic and that she doesn't listen to them, she keeps modern cassette tapes sealed
With listening to cassettes the sound quality can be amazing. However it is all about the player. The better the cassette player the better the sound. And make sure the cassette player belt is new that makes a huge difference.
Hi Olivia, I have question regarding my cassette tapes collection..I want to bring them with me in America from dubai uae..Will there be any problem in the US upon entering? I have divided them into 6 lagguages, its about 120 pcs..I hope you can help find out..Thank you..
I have a few of those my grandad was doing a big clean out and I salvaged his old tapes and I got the player because my dad’s work was also doing a big clean out.
Aloha Olivia, You have a great Cassette tape Collection. Enjoy them sealed or open. I myself have a few sealed, Cassette tapes, cds and even record albums . I'm a listener and a collector. Just enjoy.... Mahalo ed.
Mine when in the trash, I did not had many pre-recorded ones, back then I bought my music on vinyl. But most of them also meet the trash can 😭 I have bought a cassette player and started to collect cassette again, it's a weird world or maybe it is just me that weird 🤣😂
Honestly, the limited quality on cassettes is the reason why I collect them. It adds to the charm, especially contemporary music.
Believe it or not, cassettes can sound just as good as a CD if you have a good deck
Hi Olivia - Before the 💿 in the early 80's many cassettes had bonus tracks so keep an eye out for them & get more bang for your buck ! 👍
I would recommend to open it just for the booklet/photos that came on!!!
True but I still won’t be opening them x
@@OliviaRena actually yes cuz in few years it’s be a rare
