Wow! Awesome collection! Thanks for sharing. I listen to Smokey Robinson, Frank Sinatra and Bruce Springsteen - I love their heart, uniqueness and magic of their music. I also listen to other artists too.
That's so cool that you're getting into cassettes! Like I said collection which is all the way from my childhood through my teens and twenties and 30s is so huge I still have pretty much everything. Multiple cassettes sometimes especially with my Madonna collection. And it's amazing how difficult it is to get them these days they're truly antiques now but I have so many mixtapes, people would make mixtapes for me talking on the tape and sharing their favorite music like playlist today but I don't think playlist let you talk alongside it I'm not sure about that since I don't do any streaming or anything. And I also have a ton of mixtapes my Madonna fan friends made me with all sorts of exclusive interviews and bootleg concerts, I have so many bootleg concerts on cassette. Love to chat with you about it and cassettes if you ever want to :-)
I bought a few cassettes a good bit ago for aesthetic purposes and got a Sony boombox later so I can actually listen to them. I found an old cassette of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours from the ‘70s and it plays perfectly but squeaks like crazy whenever it plays bc of age so I understand not playing the Journey one much. I enjoyed the video by the way!
I recommend buying a good cassette player or boom box from a thrift store; I've bought a Sony cassette player from a thrift store and it has lasted me more than a year

Vintage Girl it’s not always about sound quality, they just tend to not last a long time. and you can usually find something much better for not a whole lot of money.
Gold Souls getting a sony on ebay or etsy is probably your best bet. there are some people who refurbish them and sell them online, because the rubber belts in sony’s tend to degrade after 20 years or so. techmoan made a great video on walkman shopping.
You have cool taste in music, but idk about cassettes. I grew up with them and when I got a CD player, I was like "Yes! This sounds so much better and I can go from one song to the next by pressing a button!" It was definitely an upgrade. But I do get the nostalgic factor.....I have a record player even though it's not really convenient either.
MusicianOnAMission I agree- cassettes are not an ideal way to listen to music, but I find it fascinating. I only have cassettes from my mom and I haven’t bought any of my own. I think if I do it will probably be a stranger things soundtrack, but other than that I don’t think I’ll expand my collection much further. Records and streaming have a much better sound and they are easier formats.
Nice collection video, I like your musical tastes! You should get a better quality cassette player tho, since the music on those cassettes can sincerely sound sooooo good and rich on a decent old player. Check yard sales and Goodwill! Happy collecting!

I’d do some google searching to see what people recommend, since the one I have is fine but I have been told that the sound quality isn’t as good as other players. Cassette are little cheaper then. Dl a album off of itunes. U will wind spending 16$ for 11 track album. That 99¢ for turn into how this shit happen?
DO NOT USE A PORTABLE PLAYER!! People are diluted into thinking cassettes and vinyl are supposed to sound janky and scratchy but if you use a QUALITY CASSETTE DECK it can sound better then the upload on youtube!!!

omg this particular machine is for recording and playing voice only. It has very narrow frequency rate. Get yourself a proper recorder to enjoy warm and rich sound.
building a cassette collection of my own. just a tip: dont order any cassette players from UO. check ebay for old cassette players. the modern version now are majority plastic and give you terrible... Terrible quality in the music.
