I’m around your age (I’m 24 now) but I’m really into rock and metal and especially 80s metal. My dad got me into the genre cus it’s what he listened to back in the day. My favorites from your collection are Queensrÿche, Saxon, Megadeth, Mercyful Fate and Y&T. I actually saw Y&T live with my dad not too long ago. Love this vid! I hope you gave these cassettes a listen and maybe even liked some of them!
I love cassettes I got into them because my grandparents gave me my moms and her siblings old tapes and ever since then I have been obsessed with collecting cassette tapes and buying tapes of underground bands I like. Btw love your videos
Your uncle was an 80s kid, I can guarantee with my eyes closed. I have most of these albums on CDs. Only rockers would know what you just showed. Cheers from India!!!
I'm surprised The parental advisory Explicit content tagging in an album never gets old. It still captures the fascination of young people today. Me and my friends would 1st buy the stuff that has that parental advisory label because you can be sure it's awesome 👌🤟👌
Your uncle has great taste in music.. Merciful Fate is very satanic themed.. Y&T and Saxon are great bands.. OK I’m just going to say your uncle’s cassette collection is awesome🤘🏻
Hi Olivia - Mostly metal stuff on cassette but the power pop of In Color by Cheap Trick is my favorite. Heaven Tonight is their best album with In Color being a very close second. The red color on the cassette package means its on the Arista label. Enjoy ! 🎸
Those are some awesome 80's and later 70's bands... I had quite of few of those before and some now that I collected and found also at local thrift stores some nice and sealed ones... I only buy nice condition ones.. I'm into all older formats and digital... Being a graduate from CRAS as and audio recording engineer music is my passion..
I have Helix and that same one too.. Long time ago I used to be on the RCA/BMG music club where now and then deals like order 2 get 2 free and so on... I included that group in one of those deals... That (expanded dynamic range), also known as SDR (super dynamic range) is a quality-control and duplication process for the mass-production of pre-recorded audio . .. Great find and yes those cassette organizers can be pricey online.. I used to have 6 of those including 2 wooded stand up organizers that would hold 100 cassettes... Sadly 20 years ago I donated all my cassettes and blanks... But started collecting them again in 2010 hahaha... I guess I can't go too long without them... Keep collecting...
Most of those bands yea were fairly well known back then. For sure if you were into Hard Rock and Metal. If you wanted to know some of the more poplar songs by the bands you shown I would look up Megadeth - Hangar 18 or Sweating Bullets Whitesnake - Here I Go Again Queensryche - Empire or Silent Lucidity Helix - I like some of their later stuff like - That Day is Gonna Come - but yea they have some crazy old videos Black 'N Blue - I'll Be There For You Krokus - Screaming in the Night - these guys never looked good on video but if you play their full albums they flow good and its kinda mesmerizing Aldo Nova - Fantasy (that was their most popular track) - I liked their later album - two great videos that go together - Medicine Man and Someday Y&T - I'm sure I have an album or two, I just never got into them, but they did have a cult following - I'd say check out Contagious Cheap Trick - The Flame The other bands I can't say I know much about.
I only have Whtesnake of "these" I have Metallica , Thin Lizzy , WASP , Anthrax , Megadeth , Toxic Shock , Gamma Ray , Manowar , Paradise Lost , Queensryche , T.S.O.L. , Dark Angel , Slayer and more and more
Mercyful Fate on Combat is the most valuable one you found. , Megadeth - so far… original mix (they remixed & ruined it) is good too, USA for M.O.D. Is the follow up to S.O.D. (Billy Milano)! -red Krokus tapes are cool too & Saxon.
I used to be into Hair Metal in the 80s but then I slowly moved to more extreme subgenres of Metal even I still listen some good Hair bands. My favorite band ever is Europe. From that pile of cassettes I like Mercyful Fate which is another band King Diamond sings in, I suggest you to listen to his records as King Diamond, he's really amazing
